Ahí tuna on "soft" shell aka lettuce

First visit to bartaco. Went there for lunch as I was nearby. Food is good. See is great and the place Liam terrific. Much bigger than I thought because it goes on deep. I like the different flavors of tacos and the be frames of the freshly squeezed drinks. Will definitely go back again. It is also mostly GF food. I would skip the cucumbers next time.

What a fantastic restaurant in Hilldale! I've wanted to try this restaurant since moving to the area. It's conveniently located in the Hilldale shopping center. Lots of parking available in their garages. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available (if the season is right!). They have an excellent cocktail menu (specializing in tequila, reposado, anejo, and mezcal - including a flight of them). I was not able to try these beverages when we went but plan to in the future. I went with an agua fresca that was delightful. We had chips, guacamole, and salsa (the trio), which were delicious! The taco sizes are small like street tacos, and they have a great variety. I got 3 tacos, including the duck, seared chorizo, and chicken verde. Mine were perfectly filling and tasty! Our serve was very nice, and the service was great. The price was reasonable, and each taco was about $3 each. Overall, I recommend this place and plan to come back!

I love the tacos here! All the fillings were flavorful, and they paired really well with the hot sauces provided at each table. I personally love the roja sauce! The tacos are a little bit pricey with how small they are, but they tasted great. The guac is a little plain, I wish they had tomatoes and onions in it to spice it up. It took us a while to get our tacos, which was a little unexpected since we came in after 2pm. The interior is really cute and they offer matchbooks! It is an order-with-your-phone place, but they do offer pencils and a paper ordering system as an alternative.

Hello, we love the food and the servers at Bartaco and have been regulars for years. My son and I make a point to visit weekly during football season (married to an Eagles fan ). We always check in online or over the phone on our way to join the wait list and are at the restaurant in person within 30 minutes to check in. Today, we were told that when you "check in" your wait time starts when you arrive in person which is directly conflicting with their online policy. I'm disappointed. This place was a meaningful tradition for our family. We will not return.

The location is super cute. Great place to walk around and shop and stop for a small bite or drink. Lots of places to park for free. Nice outdoor seating. Very cute environment on the inside. Overall the tacos were good. Kids meal had lots of options.

I've been to a couple of bartacos in Virginia and have always enjoyed them. My boss wanted to come here for a team dinner when I was in town, and she snagged us a table for 6. Our waitress was super friendly. She was also from the Nothern Virginia area, and it was a fun connection! I love the concept of being able to order from the QR code whenever we want and not having to wait for someone to come by to take our order. The food comes out very quickly. It is somewhat of a confusion if someone forgets what they order, but it's nice that they keep the tacos separate when different people at the table puts in an order. The tacos are really good, a bit small, but 2-3 is probably the right amount for a person. The margaritas are also really delicious. I also really enjoyed the shrimp taco. I even came the next night when I needed a quick sweet pick me up treat, and the hostess there was so sweet. I asked if I could just get an ice cream cone to go (there's weirdly no good/quick ice cream places in the shopping center - or maybe I just didn't explore enough). She quickly got up and led me to the takeout area to take my order. And a minute later, I had my mint chocolate chip cone. And it was perfect to eat while walking around the area on a nice night. I will definitely be back

It's my favorite time of year, Margarita March at Bartaco! They have some amazing margaritas that they put together that are only available for a short period of time. There are times where they will keep one of them on the menu as they did last year with the green margarita. They've just started, and I am begging for the Dos Piñas to be on the regular menu. This pineapple margarita is phenomenal. We headed on a Saturday night and the place was packed and everyone was chatting and having a ball. Even with being so busy, the staff is super friendly and attentive. The food you can't go wrong with so many tacos that are gluten-free and dairy free.

I came here for lunch with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised. The inside is really cute and there is lots of outside seating for when the weather is nice. I am not a fan of the QR code scanning/ordering (which is why I docked a star). Super impersonal, very bizarre. Once ordered, the food showed up rather quickly and was great. I loved the appetizers I ordered, the fritters were probably my favorite. I ordered three tacos-one had pineapple, another had pork belly, and the third had beef (drawing a blank). The tacos were really good, on the small side-which I was warned about. The food that we all ordered separately was delivered randomly, the downside of not ordering all together, so we were interrupted often. Service was marginal overall. Again, not having a designated waitstaff makes for some strange interactions with people delivering food. That being said, I can see how this could appeal to some people-open tab, order whatever, whenever and it just shows up. I will definitely be back and most certainly recommend giving it a try.

Went for my birthday yesterday. We sat at the bar for lunch and got their lunch plates. It wasn't very busy at the bar. Service was fast, bartenders were so nice, and food was amazing! They don't have a birthday deal but the bartender asked the kitchen to write happy birthday and lit a candle on our churros. So sweet!

Good place for a brunch or bar food. It's located in a new marketplace in Madison where you can find several shopping places. Nice decorations too, with a symbol of blue dragonflies. We arrived at roughly lunchtime and waited for 15 minutes to be seated indoors. Scan the QR code to order and pay the bill automatically. We ordered coffee, 8 types of tocos, very special flavor of roasted duck and pork and fried oysters and tunas. We had also the tuna pokes and salad. The food was decent. Definitely try the duck and pork ones where I haven't found in elsewhere.

Great Fusion menu with so many different choices. Unique street tacos made with fresh ingredients, we tried glazed pork belly, sesame ribeye, roasted duck & tuna tatako all delicious with plenty of add on options. Good sauce options, really enjoyed the zing of the habanero! Staff was friendly and the space has a nice "chill" costal atmosphere. Table service signal sign to let the staff know you need assistance. Nice outdoor sitting available with views of Hilldale shopping area, nice trees, lighting, planters & heat when needed!

What are the prices? They have none showing on Yelp or online?

Hi Kia! You can view our prices online at order.bartaco.com or send us a DM and we will share a copy of our menu with you.

Do they have happy hour and if so what is it?

Yes they do. If memory servies me right, it starts at 5 and they knock off a few bucks of some selected cocktails. Fairly underwhelming.

Well if so, do I have the place for you! Bandit Tacos & Coffee is a mashup of a few of my favorite things that I never knew I needed. While the tacos and Mexican inspired dishes and drinks are more focused on via the menu, the coffee shop vibe is the true essence of this space. The vibe is coffee shop that happens to serve tacos and margaritas too. The space is delightfully thought out from the seating to artwork, plants and even the music. We popped in for coffee and went with a classic Nitro Brew with Oat Milk and a Dirty Horchata. The drinks were stellar. I sipped on my cold brew for a while, and my buddy enjoyed his horchata. The horchata is fairly thick, so when he needed a little more coffee so he could get every drop they were happy to top him off at no charge. The tacos and food here are elevated taqueria style with fresh made masa/corn tortillas with the location from and the actual corn on display near the coffee tap. Prices were standard for both the coffee and food. Well worth on either end. Overall, we really enjoyed Bandit Tacos & Coffee. I have a growing list of repeat spots to visit and this spot is high on that list!

It was not fried either; just a soggy freaking mess. Looked like they dipped, but didn't bother to fry it. If you are fulfilling an order for delivery, WHY wouldn't you fry it and use two tortillas? Simple common sense. The street corn was bland. My drink was missing. The churros were good. Will not order from here again.

I chose asada and was satisfied by the tenderness of the meat, the bread was the right choice, the toppings were great and the side of fries were nice and crisp. It also came with a side of green and red salsa, which were both excellent. I also got the elote in a cup which was a good size for the price, and the horchata was well made but I wish it had a bit more cinnamon. They have a great sized menu so there are more options I'll need to come back and try. I've already got my eye on enchiladas de mole (a personal fave that I struggled to find outside the Midwest) and pozole, which I'm sure will be popular when the cold weather hits. Service was great and efficient. I took my order to go but there were a handful of tables available. There is a small parking lot that is shared with a couple other businesses but nearby street parking shouldn't be awful if it comes to it.

After trying different variations from other restaurants in Chicago and Madison, I have to say they have the best carne asada fries (titled Loaded Fries under the shareable section). The fries are wedged with an assortment of quac, sour cream, their own cheese sauce, and pico de gallo. What made it so good was the ratios of the ingredients and the cheese sauce. The portions are enough for two people to share, though you may leave with clogged arteries. Although at times there may be a language barrier with staff, they were attentive to our needs and checked on us regularly. A fun fact is that they are located behind the grocery store aspect of the place. Vibes were great.

GF got 2 steak and one chicken tacos. She said steak was good but chicken was flavorless. I got lengua and cauliflower. I think the gal making margaritas mixed up sugar and salt and our drinks were salty. Poor service - total of 3 people attended our table but nobody returned to check on us. Total experience $45.

My previous view was based hugely upon the poor customer experience that I had endured. But two weeks ago I returned because I was seriously craving a taco and the other nearby place had finally convinced me they were second rate. (I wrote a small bit, about that location, not more than a couple weeks back. I won't name it, but I rather hope these words will be taken to heart and affect change) But upon my reentry to this place I was beyond pleasantly surprised. Eduardo, the owner whom I have since met, is the reason why I have returned. An active and dedicated team needs their captain. So trying to reimagine the perfect taco place I had a fresh mindset and I think I was accurate about that choice. Today marks the 6th time in roughly 2 weeks. Basic ground beef tacos with onions, cilantro and some lime. Cheap and delicious. Absolutely not a bastardized low fat gringo taco. Not at all. Heavy on the filling and tasty. It's only missing one ingredient: spice. The orders include a pair of sauces, a green and red plastic cup with something resembling a hot sauce. Tuesday is a $1 ground beef taco. Sparse but not lacking in the meat. So glad I tried again. Eduardo has a key quality that makes a place feel welcoming. Friendly, and informative about the foods that are available. I don't speak Spanish, aside from simple jargon that every English speaker has to have as their basic vocabulary, even in regular American speak day to day situations. The place vibrates with a lot of ethnic authenticity right here in my Middleton neighborhood where I've lived now for 15 of my 25 years in Wisconsin.
