Dowdy's, however, went well beyond good service for me. We woke up with a car issue, did a bit of panicking, randomly found a place online that was near work, called the shop, and Dowdy's told us we could bring it in immediately if we wanted. They checked it out, diagnosed the problem, and then informed us that we were probably still under warranty and should see if we can get it repaired through the dealership with little cost to us. I'm not sure if the dealer/warranty will cover our issue yet, but I am pretty sure that I will be taking all of my future service to Dowdy's. They easily could have just fixed our car and not mentioned a cost saving alternative; instead of getting a quick buck, they have earned a future repeat-customer. Dowdys is a place that does not honor business agreements. One was struck where they would keep a…read morecar because it could not be paid for. They agreed to this. Then, they sent a bill that was not a part of the agreement. All that was asked for was the license plates be sent to the owner. Dowdys said that this was just too much for them to do. I will not be doing business with them. And I suggest that others not do business with them also. B.usinesses should honor an agreement that was struck. Not pussy foot around for weeks without a word. Just be leary about doing business with Dowdys.

None of the negative experiences were noticed today and I am pleased with this shop as a whole. Came into the shop for a quick estimate for the installation of equipment I had brought in myself for my Tacoma. It was already way more affordable than what I was quoted elsewhere. We promptly scheduled an appointment for the very next day, first thing in the morning. For context, I had purchased a cheap no-name brand deck and a kicker hideaway subwoofer- hoping it would fit into the Taco. The day of installation, at the shop I was presented a deck that was substantially better in quality from a reputable brand. Additionally, it was made for my specific Tacoma. This means that everything from steering controls to the backup camera were retained, plus it fits way better with the interior. This deck was only $100 or so more than the deck I had brought to the shop originally. Better screen, operating system, and it looked far better than what I had brought in. Easily sold me on it, I couldn't pass the deal up. There wasn't any sales pressure or anything and I could have said no, but it made more sense to take the better option. Take my money. Next, the Kicker subwoofer didn't fit... I was disappointed because I've read that people made theirs fit, but they explained what options they tried to take for it to fit and it got to the point where there weren't any options left. As an alternative, they presented me with a custom-fit box+sub made for the Tacoma. The Tacoma is tricky because of how small and limited the interiors really are, so this was a win in my book... Plus, If I were in their shoes I would do the same. If someone brings in their own equipment, I wouldn't want to damage it by trying to make something happen that shouldn't. Since nothing was broken while trying to make it work, I was able to return it to Best Buy right after my install with no issue. If I'm paying for good equipment and a professional install, I don't mind forking out an extra $100 or $200 for quality. Also, when I was originally shopping around for a sub/amp/deck equipment+install, the prices were about $500 more than what I paid for here. They treated my truck with care and expertise, I'm extremely happy with the outcome and I'm glad I chose to use their equipment instead of the stuff I brought. Overall knowledgeable, efficient, and reliable people. I live about an hour away, so when they found out I'd be hanging out at the shop to wait for my truck to be finished, they asked if I needed a ride for food, water, coffee etc. That was cool of them to offer. Solid audio shop with competitive pricing and great results. Will be returning soon to have a remote start installed.

Be forewarned this business operates under several names and appears to change their name to avoid…read morethe negative reviews. Has a mailing address of "1650 W Targee St., Boise ID" which is only a PO Box, and uses stock images for 'Ingrid' who will be the contact for the stock text messages they send. You can see the entire text conversation we had in the photos I've submitted so that you can see evidence to back what I've said and also that what actually occured this fraudulent business differences significantly from what they will claim in their response. Horrible customer service only through texting and their technician never arrived nor contacted me directly despite several requests from me for the technician to contact me so that I could coordinate linking up with them at a large truck-stop. I sent in a Google Maps pin drop to my exact location. Once I was notified their technician had arrived I tried to establish contact with them through their text dialogue and only received automated messages in return and a video of their technician driving around the wrong truck-stop. I notified them their technician was at the wrong location and heard nothing back from 'Ingrid' their automated manager. Please see my attached photos of the entire conversation as proof of their lack of response and refusal to refund my money. Additionally I was advised to choose 'diagnostic' when I asked for a power steering line repair, and then after I paid was told they would only perform a diagnostic and something about conforming to state laws. This is entirely unacceptable as no state law prohibits them from repairing a power steering line as originally requested. Use this business at your own risk and do not trust what they say in their response. They were NOT at the correct location and never attempted to contact me to link-up. Trust the other negative reviews. $238.50 for a 'diagnostic' that they never performed and still charged me for. I used another mobile mechanic, Richard Wilson, with Elite Mobile Auto Repair who actually arrived and repaired my power steering line for $154 and even drove himself to three different auto parts stores to locate the correct parts. This is good service, not what 'Mobile Tech Auto Repair' does with stealing money for nothing. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and applicable licensing authorities and they received no response from the owners as this is a shell business set up under several different names and addresses. No business should be able to outright steal money for services willfully not performed.

I called the number and Chevy is the name of the person who I spoke with. Made an appointment for today at 4pm and he was at my place on time. What I liked about this is that the mechanic comes to you its a $90 dollar to diagnose the problem and if and gives you a prices of how much it's gonna cost and if you choose to go with him he applies the $90 dollars to the full price. I asked him to look at my other vehicle and he fixed everything on it and changed my battery. Chevy is super nice and he enjoys working on cars. He was fixing my cars while I made dinner love that instead of waiting in a lobby or having to get a rental or a ride home to have someone work on my car. 1.5 hours of labor done at home.

This place is a complete hit and miss with service, yes, I get it that it's a junk yard, but all…read morethe others I have visted at least try to be somewhat consistent and have some level of customer service. Then there is Alec - first, this poor fellow just doesn't understand interpersonal interaction. Second, one never knows when he is telling the truth. This fellow is the stereotype of junkyard employee. If he would slow down to listen and actually communicate, and also actually be honest, he wouldn't have any problems. If you go there and Alec is at the desk or on the phone go somewhere else, but if you must have a part, then it would be worth it to just wait until you can talk to someone else.
