After 7 months of living with COVID-19, I would expect that businesses have precautions put in place - not Bashas. There is not even a pretense of following CDC guidelines; multiple store employees wearing masks under their nose or on their chin. In one case, no mask at all. I'm aware that many stockers in a grocery store are not employed by Bashas. These observations were all people in a store uniform. This tolerance of non-compliance, of course, spills over to the customers who obviously feel no need to wear a mask or wear it incorrectly. If you want to pick up some milk, along with a nice case of Covid, head this way. Otherwise, stay away. (It's not a very good grocery store anyway, considering the other choice.) read more

This is my closest grocery store. It's also closest to the Las Sendas area out here, which has it's pros & cons. But I really like this Bashas. They just re-modeled inside, and it feels very nice and upscale inside. The prices are ok, not real cheap not real pricey. It's never real crowded and overrun with badly behaved children, which is great. They have a great bakery with a fantastic donut situation. (Croissant-donuts) . They also have a sushi thing going on in here, but I just haven't tried that yet. One star off only because they really need a self-checkout section like what Frys has. Sometimes the checkout process can be a tad slow. And a few of the older check out ladies are VERY GRUMPY. But it's not really terrible or anything. I like my local Bashas. This is one of those cases I wish you could put zero stars. Long story short...TWO men stood in the butchers room (glass walls) and chatted up while I waited ten mins to get cuts of meat. I called the front desk, they intercommed to help a customer at the butchers counter and those two idiots joked about the call STILL leaving me at the counter. I placed my groceries on the counter (for those lazy jerks to put them back) after 15 mins and left. Rest assured I complained to management, Who was not the least bit concerned that I was leaving. I won't go back EVER! That store is so outdated and low on stock it's simply not worth the time, regardless of the pretty produce! read more

I will never shop at Bashas again. No matter what location I go to , they never have what their adds have on sale. Their customer service sucks, no one cares how the store looks. That's why it's dirty ( shelves ever get dusted) and their restrooms are even worse, disgusting to be kind. They must pay their cashiers minimum wage cause they look like and act like they hate their jobs. This food grocery chain must be on their way to closing their doors. read more

Five stars for the sandwiches!! I absolutely love Bashas sandwiches and eat them at least once a week! They have four set options, or you can create your own. I either get the pesto veggie with the ranch spread instead of the pesto mayo, the turkey bacon (which comes on an amazing jalapeño cheese bagel), or the apple harvest chicken salad sandwich. They're all great, and are $5.49 and are huge! Also, when you use your Bashas card you get a free sandwich after purchasing 7 of them! They're all tracked on your card and it's an awesome deal. read more

This is probably gonna be one of the few very good reviews of this location of Basha's. Basha's on Power McDowell has recently undergone a renovation which revamped the whole place. It now looks much better, more appealing, organized in a more logical way, they have now more options at the Deli and to top it all, a new Starbucks with a nice seating area and they now have fresh sushi which actually looked very appealing! The staff although not really very friendly in the past, are overall just Ok. Today I must say I thought I had exceptional service from the Deli staff. They went out of their way to find out the ingredients of my order and they were very friendly and were smiling the whole time. They are the reason I actually thought about checking in and writing a review for the first time although I've been going to this location for over a year now! All in all, I am very pleased with the improvements Basha's has made. Despite all the negatives I saw before, I still shopped at the store because it's the closest to my house and also, I was hoping this whole time that they would improve and they finally did. They're still finalizing their renovation process but they're almost done. I wish to say so far, well done Basha's and keep improving. You have the potential to stay strong in the valley! read more

I'm surprised at the low ratings for this store. Every time I come here the workers are respectful and helpful. The quality of meat and all the items I usually get is the best around. The store is clean and orderly. There is also good deals on products so I feel like I'm getting my monies worth. read more

If I could give it less stars I would. Just left the store. Walked in, needed to use the ladies room. It was filthy and smelled awful. Did not use it. Walked up to deli to get some fried chicken and sides for a bbq. They were so dried up and old. I asked the guy about it and he said "ya we are going to be making more shortly". He was short and not accommodating to us at all. Went over to the bakery thinking we could at least find some dessert. Not many options. No staff around to help and the ones working that area were terrible. Very surprised with Bashas Store and staff. Now I know why I shop Frys. read more

Clean store and barely anyone in it. Prices were high- target down the street is cheaper. Vegan and gluten free selection was pitiful- still needs Whole Foods or sprouts. It was so empty, it felt like they were closing down for the day at 6:15 pm. I'll be back if I'm in a pinch for some ketchup, etc. They did have a lot of wine and beer but seemed overpriced. read more

Great for the basics. Their organic and all natural sections are a bit small, and not always very well stocked. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is my go-to grocery, although I will hit the Bashas' at Ellsworth & Brown for a slightly better natural selection. Still need Sprouts & Whole Foods, but they're not as close. read more

This review is for their pharmacy. They are friendly and go out of their way to take care of you. I needed several scripts filled and the pharmacist must have made 5 phone calls to my doctor and the insurance company to get everything in order. Great people!!!! The rest of the staff at this location are good people and friendly except for the Deli. The main cook is fantastic. Her Pot Pies are out of this world. But most of the rest roll their eyes when someone walks up to order something because they have to provide customer service. Great Pharmacy. I went in to buy some ribeyes tonight. The sign was misleading as it said 7.88, but hand written next to it, in small black marker it said something more. When the butcher rang it up on the scale it appeared to cost more than I was expecting to pay. I asked if it was 7.88 a pound and he told me, "no it was 7.88 each" for a 10 ounce cut. When I got home, I unwrapped two very mismatched pieces of meat. One a beautiful red thick marbled ribeye the other a thin dark grey colored price of meat with dark tan fat. I'm sure it wasn't a ribeye. Very disappointing. It was just after 6:00 pm and the goatee bearded butcher who help me had everything wrapped up and was ready to go home. He appeared ticked off when he had to unwrap the trays to get my order. I bought two steaks, four bacon wrapped jalapeños and two twice baked potatoes. What ticks me off is that he never showed them to me before wrapping them, and I was too stupid to ask. To make things worse is I can still hear him say in a courteous voice, "thank you sir" at the end of our transaction. With an order like mine, you might think he would've noticed that I was bringing dinner home to my wife. read more

Horrible donuts. I've gone several times thinking I just went on a bad day. Maybe there are better bakers and I just need to try again. Nope! I went this morning to get 2 of the buttercream filled donuts. They have the best buttercream and other stores actually have good donuts, but not this one. First, the oil is being reused too much. You can smell it and taste it. It's gross and then I end up burping that flavor. Eeek! Second, they hardly put any cream in them. I took a picture this time so you know I'm not exaggerating. I had eaten half of the first donut before I met any cream and when I pulled it apart there wasn't even a tablespoon of cream. So I didn't even bother with the second one. I split it apart before taking any bites. I don't get why they closed the Basha's near my house. They had good donuts but this one keeps producing garbage. There are 2 other stores that make donuts in fresh oil and fill them appropriately but they are too far from work or home. No wonder Basha's keeps closing stores. I should have gone to Dutch Donut but I really wanted a buttercream. Should I even bother mentioning that they sell breakfast burritos but no salsa to go with it? read more

Big sign advertising jumbo shrimp at $6.99 lb. I questioned why the cashier is charging me $13.98 for that same bag of shrimp. The reply is "we only sell it in 2 pound bags", hence the double charge. Very impressed so far. I live in San Tan Valley and there's a Walmart that I can walk to. But personally I hate Walmart. It's always so crowded and full of ghetto or trashy people. This Bashas is a little out of the way for me and more expensive, but much emptier, much higher class people and better quality food. I work in Gilbert so this place is on my way home. I'll have to remember to have my grocery list ready on my work days from now on. Be sure to sign up for their Thank You card to save money. I can't even with this store. I am a mom and when I go up here,not only do I get harassed by customers.. Usually old men who also harass my daughter. I hate the service. Half the people that work there make it very clear they hate their job, and then 9 times Out of 10 it takes entirely too long to get through the line. And there may be no one there. But there's one check out. Today was my last straw when a nice lady with a million things in her cart said I could go in front of her because I had 1 item and my daughter with me. The cashier told me to go to the customer service. To check out and made it like the lady offering me to go in front was some burden to her. I went to the customer service to check out and no one was there to help me. The lady that offered me to go in front had checked out as well as 2 other people before I was seen. I've given this place too many chances. I'm done. Never shop here. read more
