The first thing you need to know is that this is employees owned so your shopping supports them not corporate greed. They do not accept credit cards only cash debit or food stamps. They have all the same varieties of groceries you find at a local grocery store including a deli, hot foods, seafood sections, alcohol, bakery, cards, books magazines, the big thing I like is their bulk section where I can buy bird seed, dog treats, rice, beans all by the lb. Winco is still our main grocery store due to not only it's prices but quality! 80% of our groceries are done here, and if they aren't it's due to proximity. All of their produce is fresh and good quality. We always buy our bulk items from here: long grain rice, trail mix, pastas, oatmeal, chia seeds, bay leaves... this list could go on forever. We've recently had their deli fried chicken and I've been obsessed with it. We love their fresh baked goods, especially their bagels. If you've never been to Winco, when it's time to check out, they have self checkout or the lines for ther clerks. If you decide to go with a clerk, be ready to bag your own groceries at the end of the conveyor belt. This grocery store is also DEBIT/CASH only. Looking to get bakery croissants early this morning, was told by very solemn bakery employee, "store policy says they need to sit 30-45 minutes before I can have them," and no offer of how long they've been sitting. Asked for a store manager, got same solemn answer by another employee. No smile, empathy or customer service was offered by either. As a customer and basic common knowledge, croissants are better fresh out of oven. I feel the store should honor the customer request and not have "store policy" given as the answer. Suggestion: maybe shorter cooling time if not placed in aluminum shelves might help speed up the process. This shopper is rethinking whether to shop at WinCo in the future. read more

First time at this location as I usually go to the San Tan Village location. This store is definitely not as clean as the other location but has the same merchandise. They do seem to have more Hispanic foods. They even have pinatas! I picked up a great looking bag of tortilla chips I had never seen before, and it was very good. It's well flavored and very crunchy. Went great with shrimp ceviche wifey made. It was only $1.99, so what a find. I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to get more. My husband and I love Winco. Specifically for their awesome bulk section, spices, flours, candies, dog treats, pastas, you name it they have it. I love the option for a less wasteful option for many every day items. They don't have bulk personal care, but the rows and rows of what they do have is great. In addition, since they're technically a co-op their prices are a tad cheaper over the usual grocery. This does mean no credit cards, debit, cash or checks only, but well worth it. They have everything you would need and easily a one stop shop. It ranges from all the normal grocery goods to their own bakery, great produce, meats, hot meals/ ready to go food, beer & wine and even holiday items and decor. We often use self check out as their check out lines themselves are quite slow. You bag yourself, which isn't an issue, but may find yourself waiting on the person in front of you. They have the aisle dividers that do speed up the process though. Great option to have in the grocery rotation! read more

I haven't been to winco in a while since I don't work in the area anymore but I made my way this weekend and got groceries for myself and my kids for the week for $134, which is great with the way grocery prices are right now. The store was clean. There were plenty of items stocked. Staff is just there lol not really to help much but the cashier was nice. I like the new carts they have. I always love their prices and food options. 4 stars because I couldn't find water outside of the jugs and the Dasani cases. I think it's weird that they stock water in 2 different areas of the store. read more

Great selection and great prices. I especially like the bulk food selection. I got several different candies and dog treats from the bulk area. They are good and also inexpensive. The store was very clean and well stocked. I went in at 10pm and they had a lot of workers stocking shelves while I was there. The only negative was that at 10pm on a Friday night there was only one register open and the line was LONG. I am not sure if they got an unexpected rush or if it's always like that at night. I'm a Winco believer! I used to shop here in California- and loved it! They have a variety of freshly ground coffees, spices, bulk items. They're produce is amazing! Their meats are meaty! I have a WinCo closer to my house, idk why I don't go more often because it is great! I'm pretty sure they only other time I went to a WinCo was this location like 10 years ago maybe. This place is massive. I never really get food in bulk because it's just me and my husband and we eat totally different diets, but this is a good spot for that. Got some ingredients to make pizza, and while I typically Get very overwhelmed in a large grocery store, I felt like I was able to find everything ok. Long lines at checkout but they moved fast. Definitely affordable prices which is a huge plus. Will definitely need to visit WinCo more often. read more

The location is busy as heck!!! Finding parking is easy as the lot is huge but sheesh this place is a circus in my opinion!!! I walked in, to look for a sweet potatoe pie that I seen at another location but ended up not finding it here so back to the location that I'm not fond of. I do admit that they have yummy looking pastries at this location and they appeared to look freshly made compared to other locations I've gone to. I find most prices at WinCo to be cheaper then other grocery stores and the products are high quality. I also like the bulk section as I don't always need a 5lb bag of say whole wheat flour so I can guestimate in the bulk section (pretty sure it's a 1 cup scoop) and save money and pantry space. This one is set up a little different then the one on power that I normally go to but not a big deal, I still found most things. read more

I wanted to like this place, but I've given them two chances now and they failed both. First time, the inevitable realization that they don't take credit cards. Annoying, but not a complete deal breaker. The fail for me was the fact that there is no warning of this fact when you walk into the store. I did my shopping and made it all the way to the register before I was informed of this rather major restriction. Second time, I thought I was being smart. I do not like to carry a lot of cash and I will not carry a physical debit card because of their inherent insecurity compared to credit cards. So I did the next best thing, I got a debit card added to my Apple Wallet so I could use it with tap to pay. I did a whole second shopping and made it all the way to the register before finding out that they don't support tap to pay of any kind. So, I won't be back. In addition, during my second visit I did a little recon and found that most (not all, to be fair) of the items I purchase regularly are the same price or more than at other stores, all of which accept credit cards and support tap to pay. read more

I love shopping here at Winco foods. They always have great prices for their veggies and fruit which are always nice and fresh. My favorite section is the bulk food section where I can take as much or little as I need therefore I don't end up wasting anything. They also have a nice bulk foods spice section where you can mix and match spices and make your own special little mixes or rubs. They also have a bulk section for dogs which includes dog food and dog treats, bird food, cat food. My two little Chihuahua's love the dog treats especially the little yellow cheesy ones and a little red ones with cheese on the inside. They are well-stocked with toilet paper finally. Other than that it is a nice place to shop, the staff is very nice the prices are low and you do get to bag your own groceries because of the lower prices. read more

Hello, Where to start...... I went to WinCo after work to pick up some items I needed for the week. After getting my 19 items I went to self-checkout where I started to walk up to the register. At this point a lady stopped me and counted my items and told me I can't use self-checkout because I was over the 15-item limit. I thought she was joking, but she wasn't. So, I went to the long line to get checked out and waited until I put my items up on the corner and then told the cashier you all can have these items. For 19 items!!! Four over 15, really? This is the most asinine thing I have ever seen. I left the store and went to Fry's. I shop at WinCo once a week, or should I say use too. Good job WinCo you lost a customer. Dan read more

I will not shop at winco! Neither will my family and friends. My SIL went to winco late one night to pick up some things for my daughter because she was very sick at home, just found out she was positive with Covid. They had to cancel their vacation because of her having Covid. They are both in the medical field and very responsible and have never done anything like this and it was an honest mistake! He was shopping and began the o not feel well, so he grabbed a premade sandwich and ate it while shopping for her. She was at home sick running a high fever and he was in a little bit of a rush and not thinking he forgot to pay for a $2 sandwich, approximately. Not the point. He had all intentions of paying for it, it just slipped his mind and as he walked out he was stopped. They didn't even give him a chance to just pay for it. That would be the first thing winco should have done but instead they took it way too far! Not only did they threaten to call the cops! Over a sandwich, but they fined him $250 for an honest mistake. Tell me no one has ever walked out of a store with something in your cart you didn't pay for because you honestly didn't notice it was there or maybe you drank a bottle of water and forgot to pay for it? I have seen people in frys eating bags of chips or some other snacks then put the open bag back on the shelf. At least he was willing to pay for the sandwich but no that was not enough for winco! He was told he had until today to go into the store and pay this fine. Not told what method of payment it had to be. He showed up today to pay it and they wouldn't take the payment and said he has to mail in a MO. I'm sorry, but you could have given him the chance to settle up and pay for the sandwich as it was an honest mistake. This guy is far from someone who would steal a sandwich let alone steal anything! So when my daughter told me what happened, we won't be going to winco and now we will let our friends and extended family know not to shop there as they suck! read more

Cash or debit... no credit card!!! Seafood selection can be hit or miss around the major holidays, but when they do have items available, they have a great selection at a very reasonable price. They even beat a major competitor next door known for low prices when it comes to bulk items. Whenever I decide to make gumbo, I find this WinCo store to have all my items at a reasonable price with a good amount of choices. For my gumbo, I use a variety of vegetables, chicken broth, sausage links, crab, shrimp, and of course rice... and no matter where I go, I can get never get all those items at a reasonable price like I do here. The bulk food selection is actually spot on and ideal for anyone without a membership. Keep in mind that you will have to bag your items, but I actually do that now when I go to any grocery store these days. Check out the meat department as the selection of prepackaged foods is great. The key thing is the price point for items is on track with valley grocery stores. read more

Kind of disappointment in this store lately. Last 2 times I have stopped at 5pm for fried chicken and they didn't have any made. Wow, its dinner time and people on the way home may like to buy some easy dinner! Update: 6 months later. This store continues to decline. Biggest group of inept employees I have ever seen. 3 times in the last month I have tried to buy fried chicken at 5:15 and they didn't have any. All 3 times they said it would be done in 20 minutes. All 3 times they said someone just bought a 32 piece. I say they are LIARS!!! Even J*** the manager is as committed as a wet noodle. There is no way anyone can respect him. By far the best winco in the valley I have visited. I just moved to this side of town for the first time in the many years of living here in Phoenix... so living on the east side has been a new experience with lots of adventuring to new places over here. I also just so happen to be a single mom to a newborn baby girl... which means, my sleep schedule is completely all over the place right now and being dictated by a 6.5 week old...therefore, sometimes I need to get my groceries (or wine) at 1am when the baby is finally asleep and cooperative! This location is very clean, usually has the items I want stocked, employees are pleasant and helpful and best of all, I feel safe here at any time of day as a young woman and as a first time mother of a new baby. I'm a fan of WinCo Foods. This is the supermarket that I do the bulk of my shopping at. They have a great selection of products, the prices are on par with other grocery stores if not lower and it's easy to navigate around the store. Also, you can't beat the fact that they stay open 24/7! I don't mind bagging my own groceries (I bring canvas bags) and cutting down on plastic bag use. I visited the store yesterday and used the self service check and was treated rudely by the gal that was working at the time. I greeted her and she didn't say a word. I asked her if she could code in my 3 bags of water softener salt as I lifted 1 bag and it would only allow 1 scan per bag. Again, no response from her. I thanked her and no response.
