The food, service and ambiance were all great! It took a while for us to get here, but we were all thrilled with the experience. 3 neighbor couples went and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The brisket and green chile pulled pork were both excellent. I kept going back and forth not being able to decide which I liked best. My husband does a lot of smoking meat and he said the cut of meat was great and the bark was done perfectly. I had read previous reviews of the sides as just being okay, but I loved the dill potato salad and my husband had the sunflower crunch and said it was great. The bashful bandit has perfectly cooked brisket that is delicious. The side dishes are also very well prepared they have my favorite potato salad in the area and I don't normally love potato salad. They have a nice outdoor patio and dining inside with a bar. The price is affordable if you are having a dinner for 2 and offer a combination meal with 2 types of meat and 3 sides and a desert. It's is a great option. The green Chile sausages are amazing too. The staff is extremely friendly and ensure sure you have an excellent dining experience. I would give this place 5 stars if there were more affordable options for a single person but if you're planning a night out with group or a date this place is the spot. read more

It's safe to say I love bashful bandit BBQ! I have been here multiple times with my partner as well as friends. I first came in their soft opening and they only had pulled pork & jackfruit left so we settled for that and it was great! The Mole bbq is unique to this restaurant and worth a try! I don't like mole but always get this sauce! They also make their links in house which is also rare to see nowadays! My favorite things on their menu is their fatty brisket and my partner LOVES their dill potato salad. He tells everyone he can about it lol. The owner is a great guy and always there to help or chat. Just finished a great lunch at this former biker bar. The food, service and cleanliness were all outstanding. I had the chicken dinner and was surprised that it was a small quarter chicken's worth of dark meat only. I was still hungry after eating. Don't get me wrong, the food was fantastic, but the portion of protein seemed lacking for the price of the dinner. We also had the brisket that absolutely was killer! It literally melts in your mouth. I am hopeful that they either find meatier (larger chickens) if they stay the course, or raise the price a bit and provide a half chicken, like most other establishments. I should've known better than to get my hopes up when I read on BB's website that they serve "Central Texas" style brisket. As a central Texas native I can tell you that claim is simply not accurate! We tried the sliced not-central Texas prime brisket, green chile pulled pork, & chile relleno sausage. We don't eat borracho beans in CenTex, but we tried them at BB, along with the dill potato salad, & mac n cheese; sadly the mac n cheese was the best side. This could eventually become a great barbecue place. The brisket and pulled pork were amazing. The chicken was on the dry side. Ribs looked good but I did not have them. The problem is the sides. They are really not good. They need to be rethought, redone, and revised. The smokers are fantastic and the environment is fine. Nice , if rustic, inside and out. Good parking, and fair prices. If I would rate it a 0 I would We ordered lunch and my place of work, eating the food and I was finishing my macaroni and cheese and I had to spit it out there was a long nasty hair in it. I threw my food away and this is the first time I ordered there and that will be the last. I called and asked for the manager and he said was it a long hair or short that was there so, I can talk to that person I said long he said ok you know this can happen. Like he did not care and then he said I will talk to that person to wear a hairnet, He said what would you like me to do to make it better I said nothing. I am just letting you know there was a hair in my food. Seems like he did not care I did not want free food or anything. He was so unprofessional the way he spoke to me. I really want to love Bashful Bandit Barbecue - and I do, mostly. The atmosphere is perfect for a BBQ place and the people are really friendly and easy-going. The meat - all of it! - is fantastic! Everyone in my party got something different so we could all try a little bit of everything. The only downside for me - for all of us, really - was the sides. They all sound great, but they are all pretty bland. Throw some more flavor in those sides and we'll be fans for life! In the meantime, we'll definitely come back for the meat! read more

The wife and I stoped in one Monday night not knowing what to expect. They have done a great job redoing this place it's nice and bright and just a relaxed atmosphere. Full bar and the food oh my gosh the food. We are both grew up in SW NM and love and crave green chile, so we both got the green chile pulled pork. Jesse has been front and center upon walking in with a great attitude and solid greeting that makes you feel welcomed. his crew and fellow pit masters are doing it right. Helloooo sides. It's about time we get great smoked meats with delicious homemade taste on those sides. Simple and to the point. Whether taking a seat indoors at a table or at the bar there's the right amount of space indoors for the amount of tables. Let's talk about large outdoor seating area that gives all the picnic vibes with a front row view of those beautiful smokers doing their thing. So good! So good! So good! The best bbq in Tucson. I lived in STL for 7 years and of course had the best bbq there I've ever had in my life. (That being brisket, pulled pork, and smoked turkey; sorry folks, no STL ribs for me.) When I moved here, I kept having bbq cravings, but I couldn't find anything remotely comparable to STL.
