I was very into the food here. When we first ate here the service was slow and understaffed. We thought it was because it was early lunch, but after a year of coming here, the service has not ever been good. It's been tolerable most of the time, but today was awful. We got there at 4:15. There was one bartender and one table server. The server did not get to us. The bartender took our drinks then food order. 30 minutes after ordering the bartender came back saying their computer went down and asked us what we wanted again. After another 30+ minutes we asked them what the status of our food was. Our order was not even started. No one apologized. No specific wait time. 2 orders ahead of us an hour after we ordered. No warning or we could have ordered a starter. We paid for our drinks and canceled our order. They still did not have more servers working yet. I will not be back. This was their dozenth strike. Too bad. The food is always good. But they never have enough staff. It's clearly deliberate. read more

Their burgers need work, but they have a lot of items and things I already like, so I'll let this go; but I don't recommend a burger here, the one I had was burnt and unseasoned. Blah. It's getting worse. Not the food, but the service. Well, also the food based on my last experience. A salad brought out without any salad dressing. Chicken wings brought out without being tossed in any sauce, and no veggies whatsoever. We waited 30 minutes for this. The busier they are, the poorer the service is. They don't seem to be understaffed, necessarily, just poorly organized. Do you have bartenders running food. You have kitchen staff running food. And sometimes the servers seem to be MIA. I think we will give it one more try, before deciding whether or not to continue patronizing this place or not. The issues need to be addressed. read more

I come for free trivia on Wed nights at 7:00. They actually take reservations which is awesome. Their HH runs from 4-7:00 m-f. They have 2 pool tables, Lots of tvs, 2 electric dart boards, loads of bar seating and tabletops and a large parking lot. Some nights they have live music. It Can get fairly loud depending on how busy they are. I've only ever had the chicken wings here. Apparently there's a Wing special on wed but I have no idea how anyone would know that, it's not written anywhere. I dislike that. The price is $7 for a pound! I like that lol I switch between the mild buffalo and the teriyaki. Both are perfectly sauced. The service is very slow but friendly so be mindful of that when ordering. A friend recommended this place for a decent meal at a good price, so I tried it out. It wasn't busy at all over the lunch hour, which kind of surprised me. It had a big room full of tables, booths, bar seating, tv's, and some games. Our server was also the bartender and she was wonderful. This place is very poorly ran. I used to stop in quite a bit after a long day on the job site for a drink and some food. I ended up not getting food anymore and just hitting the jack and the box after a few drinks. Whoever said the food is good here is cray! It is very uninspired, and executed very poorly. They have 12 year olds in the kitchen. Just this last week, I decided to stop coming in even for the drinks, as it has been the 7th time in a row I have stopped in and they are out of like 7 different beers and have NO liquor inventory. (I'm serious, besides schnapps they had like 2 bottles) Do better or make way for a place that will. Until then I will be at Hops, where the owners actually buy booze instead of pocketing the whole drawer. read more

Hells yes we tried On the Rocks a couple of Sundays ago! The place was packed! Everyone watching their games and rooting them on! Over 20 TVs for everyone to enjoy (don't quote me on that number). All the games on! Service was great! Fast and super friendly! The food, man the food! That wedge salad is no joke and the wings! That kitchen gets busy and everything comes out great! I do believe that next time I will ask if they can double fry or extra crispy-fry ours. Their beer selection is great, they even have $2 beer of the day! What a hidden gem! My handler saw a mention of OTR on a local Tucson food group. It's one of those places where if you don't know, you won't know. It's only been open a few years, since the resolution of the covid crisis. It's tucked away in a little strip mall on the SE corner of Speedway and Pantano and is more a local bistro than cocktail lounge. the interior layout is reminiscent of Mulligans and both establishments identically serve their respective neighborhoods. OTR has a very broad food menu, more than the usual pub grub. Of special mote were the chicken lettuce cups and the New Yorker steak sandwich. The lettuce cups contained coarsely ground, marinated chicken with a side serving of "Thai chili sauce", but actually was Sambal Oolek - a non-sweet Indonesian chili sauce and paired much better than the sweet goo. Fantastic starter and easy to share. The steak sandwich was a "10", absolutely incredible. Their description: "USDA Choice NY Strip, sautéed onions, cremini mushrooms & smoked gouda cheese finished with bourbon peppercorn cream sauce served on a French roll with a side of house steak sauce and horseradish crema." Mine was cooked to order and my request for rare resulted in the refreshing surprise of actually being rare, not raw and not medium. Skip the bbq sauce and the horseradish crema was a little side serving of sour cream and chives for a baked potato. Skip that too. The bourbon peppercorn sauce, lavishly drizzled on the steak, was the delicious hit. No other additions necessary. There's a bazillion TVs on the walls all showing different sporting events. I enjoyed seeing hockey. Service was prompt and genuinely friendly despite being a busy park-season Friday night. I'll be going back - if for nothing else, just for the steak sandwich. read more

Going to skip ambiance, I didn't realize there was going to be a band. A friend sent me and he's reliable when it comes to food recommendations. I ordered 2lbs of wings with garlic parm and buffalo hot. The chicken was really nice sized, no baby chickens in the lot. I ate all of the drums first and the garlic parm was pretty good and the buffalo hot was better than most. The ranch was great too, no hint of vinegar. I only got a pic of the garlic parm because the buffalo were on another plate and I got sidetracked. The flats on the other hand were not cooked enough and the skin was still not cooked, grandma neck skin if you will - so I didn't eat any of them. I'm going to chalk this up to them being busy and very behind. It took a solid 10 minutes before someone stopped by and I'm not really hating on this at all, I appreciate getting swarmed and having to deal with it. I'm going back when there isn't "entertainment" scheduled and give this another go because it has some serious potential. read more

Last Thursday my boyfriend and I went to grab food before going to the movies.I forgot to get a picture of the sandwich but everything blew any expectations I had, away! It was absolutely delicious. Not one thing we ordered was bad. My boyfriend and I are from Buffalo NY where wings are a pretty big thing there. And boy did these wings bring my boyfriend right back to home!! They fell right off the bone! Their house made ranch was super yummy as well! We got the strip steak sandwich to split. And for a strip steak. There was like no fat on it! This local sports bar/restaurant has some really decent food. It's kind of a mix with a bar, dining and pool table area. Lots of screens to watch sports and so on. The service was great. Very attention detailed never had an empty glass. Daughter and I split the wings. Half sweet chili half Buffalo. Delicious. 9.2/10. Niece got the BBQ burger with fries and absolutely loved it! Her rating is a 9.7/10. Wife got a wedge salad and French dip. 10/10 on wedge and 8.1/10 on French dip. Kids had so much fun playing pool. Highly recommend just on food alone. read more

Great food, great drinks, and great conversations. OTR is not quite a dive bar, but something like a step up. They've always got good specials running, and there's plenty to do there (pool, darts, trivia, etc). I love all the bar tenders here. They're very conversational and will make sure you're taken care of. This place does get busy as night, so sometimes finding space at the bar can be difficult. First time here since it was Famous Sams! Service was great, super friendly... poor waitress was only 1 on shift at 6. Appy was great. we had the tempura veggies. Cheese steak was better than average. Cuban, not so much. Not a Cuban. They have it listed on website as panini, but it was on white or sourdough and toasted not grilled and pressed. Sweet potato fries were good. shoestring fries were room temp, but they fired up a hot batch and replaced. They may have been shorthanded... but attention to detail is key. We love going here to watch football games on Sunday Morning!!! They have a special menu until 11am. This week I'd ordered the chorizo biscuits and gravy... I mentioned that I'd wished I could order a half serving knowing it would be more than I could eat, but I'm SO GLAD I Couldn't, because it was SO DELICIOUS AND THE SERVING SO GENEROUS that my husband and I just split the leftovers for breakfast this morning (Monday)!!!
