The baked potato was excellent. Unfortunately that was where the excellent stopped at. Whoever prepped the salad sized the pieces for a horse. We had the porterhouse, supposedly medium rare. It came out with over half of it blue. A good vet with a little luck could have brought it back to life. They apparently lost the salt shaker in the kitchen. I think they had Jimmy looking for it, but he cut his foot on a pop top and had to head back home. All in all a truly disappointing $70 meal. Been to Silver Saddle Steakhouse about 8 years ago, had a their prime rib with the light seared to it. My first visit made such an impact I've been talking about it for the last 8 years, fast forward to Father's Day 2026 we decided to drive from Phoenix to Tucson to celebrate my father in law, with our family at Silver Saddle Steakhouse. We all loved it, drinks were DELICIOUS!!!!! And the service was great!!!! We should up at 12:50 since they open at 1 pm to my surprise but not a surprise they already had a line. What a great place to eat if you live in Tucson or you're visiting like me. My aunt loves this place and I've never been before so why not? The steaks are cooked to order so it comes hot off the grill to your table and I love it! My steak was cooked medium rare and it was delicious. This restaurant has been around for 30 years I believe and it's worth every penny and worth the wait if there's a line. We went around 4pm and it shortly became packed inside, the service was great and fast. We left with our bellies full and no room for dessert. It is an older restaurant so the booths are made for smaller sized people, so if you are a little chunky definitely sit at a table. They have a bar area as well, and they have plenty of space for large parties, if you do have a party of 5 or more call or go online to make a reservation. I liked that the meal came with either a salad bar or a soup, I would've loved to eat more than one plate of salad but I'm glad I didn't because I got so much food. I had a baked potato, and a 10oz NY steak, it also came along with baked beans and dinner rolls. I highly recommend eating here you'll enjoy every bite of food. We came here for dinner about 4:30 on a Friday night. A lot of customers were rocking cowboy hats and we even saw some boots with spurs. I ordered some drinks along with the 10 ounce NY strip steak. The steak comes with a trip to the salad bar, which was awesome. My steak arrived with a loaded baked potato and cowboy beans plus bread. My steak was cooked medium rare and think thy deliver it deliberately unseasoned so you can do it your self. I just added a dash of salt and it was perfect. The potato was delicious and the beans were super tasty. For $34 I received a lot of food, a steak any bigger would have been too much for me. The interior is no frills cowboy themed steakhouse. I could not make up my mind where I wanted to celebrate Mother's Day dinner, and of course I had not made a reservation anywhere. My kids have never been to Silver Saddle and I wanted to share this dining experience with them. I called to see if they were accepting walk ins. They said yes but unsure of the wait time depending on the time we arrive. We went to mass and heading over around 6pm. We had a 30 min wait and an amazing dinner and service! I love that it is still a rustic steakhouse with the open mesquite grill inside! The smell is so incredible. Our server was so nice and patient since we haven't been in over 20 years at least. Their menu has so many nice choices and depending on your meal it may include so many extras! We really enjoyed our chicken and steaks! They all were cooked to perfection! We had an unexpected long visit to the nearby VA center and were starving and looking for something close by. I saw the sign for the steakhouse and that fit the bill. We knew we were getting something special with the throwback classic western steakhouse vibe, and seeing the fire pit grill sealed the deal! The Hubbs got the sampler and I got the bone-in ribeye special. Everything was fabulous. I love the yeasty soft pillows of rolls (they are not stingy about bringing more!) They have a decent salad bar, but we both opted for the French onion soup, which was cheesy good. My only suggestion is to add beef stock to the soup base as it was very pale - but still full of onion goodness. We ended up taking more than half our meals home, so although a little pricey, we got two meals out of it. Our server was great - very efficient. Steaks cooked over an open mesquite wood fire , simple salad bar with real house made dressing (blue cheese A+) simple side of a well prepared baked potato and bread. Our server Faith was fantastic, with great recommendations and a convincing speech on why we should try the mud pie for dessert (we did). We had a T Bone and a bone in ribeye- cooked to absolute perfection my a real pit master. Tender and full of flavor, just needed the requisite salt and pepper for me. But my friend and I wanted to try this place because we know it's iconic to Tucson and she wanted to take me out for my birthday. So we made reservations for Sunday when they opened for lunch, there was already a line at the door before they opened and it honestly didn't seem like they cared about the reservations they just sat everyone at that time. It's definitely a cowboy feel, if you've been to pinnacle peak id say the food and vibes are the same. Service was good! Never felt neglected and made sure we had our drinks refilled and food came out promptly We both ordered NY strip, baked potato loaded that included the bread and salad bar. The bread was actually REALLY Good I wish they gave more out or maybe they did and I didn't ask. The salad bar was very basic but they do seem to make their dressings in house. Let's get down to the main course, the steak now it was cooked to the correct temperature but when I say this is the most flavorless steak I've had I mean it. I'm pretty sure they just take the steak and cook it without any seasoning. The meat was tender and nice but seriously no seasoning. Two steaks were rough and dry. The Sampler Trio was just meh. They looked well done, but tasted OK, however that looks an taste is indicative of old oil. You can see the difference from a few years back to today. My nieces mac and cheese was both luke warm, and bland. I don't know if that's by design for kids, but Stouffer's has better tasting Mac and cheese. Hell, IKEA does too. Beer served in a glass which felt like it was just cleaned, ie: WARM GLASSS. Spouse and I split the strip steak and for that we were charged a $6.95 split fee but the kitchen didn't actually split the meal onto separate plates. That said, you do get one additional side for your $6.95 so it wasn't a total loss. Salads are self-serve from a modest salad bar. Everything was actually decent in sort of a Walmart steak kind of way but the entire experience comes off as a little tired. Out the door with tip was about $50 and honestly, your money and the food quality goes considerably farther at a more upscale, contemporary steak establishment such as Forbes. read more

The menu is surprisingly extensive, and they even offer an all-you-can-eat salad bar with soup and beans, though we skipped it. At the end let's just say we voted to go back to cow town for our lunches. My sandwich was really nothing special. Dry steak slice and lightly sautéed onions and green peppers on a roll with potato salad side. I ordered it medium, came well done. It was nothing special. Just ok. Maybe chop it up a little? It was a chore to eat. Service was great. Others Steak seemed ok but nothing outstanding. Portion's were small. The burgers were just plain with green chillies. Ate here while in town for business on a recommendation from a co worker. This place is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is typical old school steak house, which I love. The staff were friendly, courteous and on the spot with service. Our drinks never went empty. There were 3 of us and we had different steaks, Rib eye, Prime Rib and Sirloin and these were the best steaks we have had in a very very long time. It's like walking into a converted monster barn warmed by mesquite wood stoves - oh the aroma wafting in the air of meat grilling over mesquite! The seating and layout are fairly typical steakhouse design, but that open pit... it's beautiful. For the meat lover, one look and you're in love. This humongous overhanging grill is pulled up or down as needed for cooking temperatures, and the brick faced pit exudes pure country! The Pitmaster is definitely a Grand Master in performing his art of cookery on this monstrosity - and cooking the goods to perfection. I must say, in Tucson, this is one of the best and tastiest steak joints around. As far as steak houses go, they offer a decent selection of goodies for your table. I was pleasantly surprised at the diverse items on the menu. During lunch they offer sammiches the likes of Cheese Steak, the Silver Saddle Cheddar Burger, a grilled pastrami and Swiss, Ham or Turkey sammiches as well as a Patty Melt, not to mention a Reuben! Not to mention Steak & Shrimp or Barbecue Baby Back Ribs. We stopped in for lunch recently and started our lunch with their perfectly breaded and tender and delish deep-fried mushrooms. But we were amazed at our orders when they arrived at the table - my wife ordered the Cheese Steak Sandwich of a lean and mean mesquite grilled steak that was beautifully topped with perfectly grilled onions, with bell peppers, and topped with both cheddar and jack cheese, inside a great French roll. I had their 10 oz. perfectly medium rare Kansas City Steak with some perfectly prepared and delish steak fries (crispy outside and tender inside) and a superb order of their cowboy beans (love them beans). Once you bite into their food, you quickly understand why they've been around since 1984! They're great at what they do! Not only that, but they are also fantastic at their hospitality. Steak fries and a trip to the salad bar was the perfect meal. My wife ordered the broiled chicken which she said was okay probably best not to order chicken at a steakhouse. We made a reservation and were seated right away and the waiter and busboys were very attentive to our needs and clearly the table. I'm a supporter of old school places, so it was the classic neon sign that attracted me to Silver Saddle. The location is a little weird and the place itself is a little rough around the edges, but if the food and service is good, I'm totally fine with all that. Unfortunately, I found the food and service underwhelming. On the positive side, my steak was cooked exactly to temperature. And nothing was actually bad, it was that the rest of the experience was kind of average. The fried mushroom appetizer seemed like they were your standard issue frozen variety. The salad bar is okay, but not as many options as I was hoping. The famous cowboy beans were pretty bland. My loaded potato was good. The steak, while cooked to temp, was strangely butchered into an oddball shape. We were definitely not the last people in the restaurant, but the staff started cleaning up while we were still eating. Definitely one of my pet peeves, especially since we were seated near the host stand and near one of the main service areas. Service was pretty inattentive. I wouldn't go back. read more

The space is cool- rustic feel with an open mesquite wood fire grill where you get to see your meal cook. In addition to the dining area- they have a cocktail lounge with the same menu and a decent drink menu. Service was super nice and attentive. As for the food, it was okay. The Trio platter was just the right amount of greasy and delicious. The French onion soup was bland and so was the chowder... the salad bar appeared to have been a better option. The ribeye was not as tender as I had hoped and the sides were okay... on the bland side. They are known for mesquite wood fired steaks and while I do like the mesquite smoked... the actual steak meat was not great.
