I can't say enough good stuff about Derek from Bashken Appliance Repair. We have a GE Monogram gas cooktop that had a burner striker that would continually strike and not shut off, unless you turned the burner off. I've never been a Monogram fan. For starters, their appliances are expensive to purchase and repair, nor are they easy to repair. Our unit is over 20 years old, so it's very difficult finding parts. Replacing the burner striker on a Monogram cooktop is difficult. Just look at the parts diagram I attached. It requires disassembly of one entire side of the cooktop. Secondly, after 20 years of usage, some of the brass nuts were fused to other brass parts on the venturi and a bottom sheet metal support bracket. The only way to remove the parts was to Dremel them off. Thanks to Derek's troubleshooting skills and patience dremeling and removing the brass parts, he was able to replace the venturi and the striker with new brass hardware. Our Monogram cooktop is back in business and we are very grateful for Derek's dedication to figuring it all out. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would. read more
