Luckily, with her bday on a Wednesday hey take orders ahead and are only open M-W for pick ups. Plugged the address into the GPS and it took us down a dead end street, looking at a farm house. THIS IS THE PLACE!! Small sign on the garage door. Smells delicious upon entering, very nice employees. We were in and out very quickly with our small heavy cake! We saw a cookie cake in a Yelp photo, when texted back and forth with the folks at Wicked they informed me it was a cookie dough cake! WHAT?! Yes- ordered! It came with a frosting flavored like cookie dough, cookie dough chunk on the top and sides of the cake and even in between the layers! Heavy yet delicious! Great idea! I have to say just wish the cake was softer, pretty dense. Frosting wasn't creamy either but my daughter was happy and glad I tried this place while visiting.

They provided the cupcakes for our wedding and subsequent anniversaries and celebrations. Every cupcake has been delicious, the staff is always friendly, and the store is always clean and neat. The flavors we love the most are cookie dough, anything with peanut butter frosting, and red velvet. Their menu has expanded and the brownies and cookies are really good too. Also, it's worth noting that on our first trip in (April 2013) when my husband was in his uniform and the owner came out and thanked him for his service and offered us free cupcake cards. It was a really nice personal touch and made us happy to be supporting a local business, on top of their delicious products.

It was lunchtime on a Friday and New London was bustling, yet picking up lunch couldn't have been easier. The sandwiches--made on Blue Loon's own breads--were freshly prepared, neatly wrapped, and stocked in the refrigerator case beside the baked goods. We also picked up a few scones to take home. What impressed me most was the staff. Three young students were working that day, and they were some of the most poised, cheerful, and courteous attendants I've encountered anywhere. One young man immediately understood what I was looking for, gathered everything efficiently, and his colleague had us checked out in no time. In a region already known for friendly people, their professionalism really stood out. The bakery itself was sparkling clean, and I appreciated that the tables were spaced farther apart than is typical, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Next time, I'd love to stay and enjoy a meal there. And the scones? They're some of the best around--always seasonal, always delicious.
