There's frequently added enrichment activities going on in the park. That I love.

My new Service Animal Elvis has been responding to training very well with Two trips to the dog park each day for his reward. Consequently he acts just like a regular Labrador when his best is off. And the basin has given me the opportunity to socialize him much more than my previous SA ‍. There are some great dog parents here at the basin that are worth getting to know.

I have a one year old maltipoo that's very sweet and just likes to run and play fetch. She's a service dog. I was a big fan of this park until i became increasingly aware that the owners DO NOT watch their dogs. If you visit, expect a huge pack of the alphas in the park to bombard you at the gate, rush up on your dog and bully them, and u can see the owners sitting in the lawn chairs not doing a damn thing about it or across the park at a way too far distance to even recall their dog (IF they would even listen). This is NOT appropriate. It's common courtesy at dog parks and your responsibility as a dog owner to watch your dog and restrain them from the gate if need be. This is asking for a dog fight letting the dogs run up to the gate like that and bully other dogs and owners walking in the park. So sad because it is a great space. I wish it wasn't this way ... to provide my own experience, the last time I went (and the final time) me n suki were greeted at the gate by about 4 huskies, 2 German shepherd, a Great Dane aka a horse and 2-3 other big dogs. We barely got in the gate and they started bullying my suki, sniffing her and showing agression. I commanded the dogs to back off and a few listened but the most aggressive ones did not. I also shouted to the owners to get their dogs. The owners did not appear to be paying attention. I was afraid for my sukis life, and we were only 7 feet down the walkway from the gate. I wound up having a full blown panic attack while trying to take my service dog to the dog park for a fun day. This was traumatizing for me and suki. The visit prior to this, a woman told me that her 3 big breed dogs had recently killed a squirrel at the park, and their prey instincts were high. She told another dog owner it wasn't safe for her to let her brown chihuahua off leash because her dogs would likely attack it and kill it if they saw it run bc the dog looks like a squirrel. Excuse me?? Don't bring your killer dogs to the dog park then?? How is this ok??? Theres a few older gentlemen with sweet big dogs and they are regulars. They are harmless and actually really sweet. I'm going to miss going there bc suki really did like some of the other regulars there. I took her to Todd Beamer dog park instead over by Champlain and Perrin area and we liked it so we have gone one more time. When we went, suki was defensive and didn't let other dogs get close ... she was never like this before. My poor baby is scared. And I'm scared for her. Trying to brainstorm ways how I can take her out for exercise and keep her safe from other dogs and their irresponsible owners.

    Huge enclosed dog park !

Gotta love a dog park that has social dogs and lots of space for the pups to run! This is a hidden gem! They have toys for dogs and seats for humans!

My 5lb baby love this park. The only thing is owners need to pickup after their fur babies do their business. Some days pretty bad...

Nice shade all different types of dogs, chairs and pools plus a lot of convenience with the dog scoopers and trash cans. So no excuse for not picking up after you animal... yet today I saw 2 big dogs take a poop and their owners just sat there SMH.. anyways love the park thanks for providing it to our fur babies

This is our favorite dog park. Lots of trees, lots of grass, toys and 2-4 doggy pools for hot days, lots of Regulars ,friendly faces . It's a happy place

Took my Moon girl almost everyday. And she loved it. Lots of big dogs her size to play with. We moved away from Fresno but will definitely go back to see the regulars and their dogs she loves to play with, besides the people and dogs being great, it can get muddy. It's the downfall and there are tons of flys in the summer.

Nice day out for the doggos :)

I think what makes this park worth coming to is the trees and shade. We went to the other dog park by here and no shade. This one had larger dogs, but our little doggie didn't mind that. Overall I would recommend it :)

Sky after a fun time at the park .

First time taking our husky to a dog park. She loved it!!! It's very well kept, eveyone that was there was very nice and picked up after there dog. Its green and HUGE.. Didnt 100% care for the pond they have for the dogs because it was very dirty and my husky is white so that was just a mess. But over all its an AMAZING park for your pal.

    Nani at the park.

This dog is AWESOME!! My dog Nani loves it. It's big with and green. So there's room to run around.

    Decent size

5 Stars A Dog Lover's Dream in Fresno!…read more Between the dogs I've had over the last 10 years, this park has been a part of our weekly routine--and it's hands-down one of the best decisions I've made for my pups! The park is about 1.5 acres and separated into large and small dog areas, which makes for a safe and stress-free environment. There's a small agility course to mix things up, plenty of shade for those sunny days, and a pool with beach entry that's a MUST for cooling off in the Fresno heat! It's membership-only ($20/month, month-to-month--super easy) and totally worth it. The park is gated and locked, and members receive a key card for secure access. It's always clean, well-maintained, and never overcrowded. There are restrooms on-site too, which is a nice bonus for us humans. Dogs need to be neutered (if over 6 months), pass a quick temperament test, and be up to date on vaccinations. There's also a minimum age requirement, so definitely check their website for the full vaccine list, age rules, and how to apply. This place has brought so much joy, exercise, and social time to all of my dogs over the years. If you're a Fresno dog parent, don't wait--join today!

If you haven't stopped by this park before, please note that parking fills up fast-especially on weekends and holidays-but it is worth it. Nestled in a residential area of central north Fresno, this park has something for everyone. If you want to throw a party, there is a sheltered picnic area that you can use. I highly recommend that you reserve the space through the City of Fresno, as it is often booked. There is an ADA accessible path, a water feature that meanders through the grounds and can be very refreshing in the hot Fresno summer. There is a sand play area, swings, see saw, climbing structure and a lovely park path that overlooks a ponding basin filled with fish, turtles and water birds. This particular basin has a small island with large trees that are often filled with white cranes and other birds. The park grounds offer quiet benches under shade trees to sit for a while, grassy gently sloping lawns that are great for frisbee or other family activities. This is also an amazing place to find a ton of baby geese in the spring....super cute! I've seen folks relaxing and flying kites here....playing ball, and just enjoying being off screen and outdoors. Check it out, if you haven't already!
