It's a little hard to find where to park, but you want the street perpendicular to what Google Maps tells you. I wish I had brought my board! It's the only park in Detroit and I found out my AirBnB was right next to it before I left to go back home. I've seen the youngn's crossing the freeway with their bike & board in hand, eagerly awaiting to visit the skatepark. As recreational facilities close left & right with the city's ongoing financial woes, Ride It has become an oasis for these kids. If you're not from this area & would like to visit this Skatepark know the following: (1.) It's located off of Davison East (at Klinger St) - Yes, it's in the hood! (2.) There's a parking lot directly behind the park. (3.) Open from dawn til dusk.

I am really glad they are back and that they have a heated pool. Keeps my joints warm and moving. Yes, there is a need for some TLC but this a great spot for people to come and get moving. Coleman a Young's pool is much cleaner then Goldfishes and the swim instructor is really preparing our children for the swim team. It is a beautiful park in downtown Detroit (at least in the day time) and with the shaded tables, a perfect spot for a bite or a drink on a super hot day. Named Campus Martius for "Field of Mars" it is the reference point for Detroit's "mile" roads. Look for the Zero Mile Marker on the ground - Seven Mile and Eight Mile are precisely seven and eight miles from this spot, respectively. It was originally a militia drill ground back in the 1800s and the First Michigan Infantry Regiment departed from Campus Martius in 1861 for the Civil War. The park opened in 2004 and includes the beautiful Woodward Fountain, a seasonal ice rink and a seasonal beach. The - Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument is also here.
