You can't really go wrong with ice cream BUT you can go wrong with service...I came in at about 2pm and it was just myself and one other person picking up a cake...there were 2 employees behind the counter...while 1 tended to the needs of the cake customer the other tended to washing some dishes...ok I understand that...but as soon as he was done doing dishes he went to the back and disappeared!! Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow negative stars, because in today's case I witnessed the worst display of customer service and no sense of teamwork or accountability by the manager onsite. Two people behind the counter, team member helping a minimum of 15 customers, while the other team member continues to plant herself at the sink washing whatever she is washing, and sadly the manager onsite, comes out on three instances to fill three kids single scoop cones and goes to the back without telling the team member at the sink to help, or better yet, the manager should have stopped and helped out! Although I wasn't adversely affected, but there was a customer before me and my wife who waited a minimum of 15 - 20 minutes before it was her turn, and didn't get acknowledged, and as a result stormed out in disgust. I happen to tell the young lady who helped us (who was the only one really working) that I felt bad for her and suggested she tell her manager or even her co-worker at the sink to stop what she was doing and help her out. Poor girls said, "oh, that's ok." NO! It's not ok! Something needs to be done to hold the manager onsite accountable! So disappointed!!! read more

I purchased 2 shakes today 1 medium and 1 large the 2 girls working today need more training both shakes were watery you could see that when pouring from mixer when then are made right you need a spoon to get it out of mixer when she poured it in the cup you could see how watery they were, but it didn't matter to them. I gave both shakes back no refund don't go to this store as they have numerous complaints, cooperate should look into this mismanaged store. Worst Baskin Robbins experience ever! This location was jam-packed for the $1.31/scoop deal and half of the workers weren't even smiling. It was as if they were annoyed and wanted their shift to be over. The old White guy at the cash register was completely ridiculous. He kept chatting it up with some other customers after they were done paying while there was a long line of customers waiting. Not only did he have that unnecessary conversation with those customers, he did not even apologize for having us wait. If he's the owner, then he needs to learn how to do his business better! If he's just an employee, he needs to get re-trained on how to do his job on a busy night! Regardless, he needs to brush up on "Manners 101" because nothing along the lines of "sorry, thank you for waiting" was said. read more

Gawd when did the portion sizes shrink! The scoops weren't even full sized scoops. For the amount of money that I paid, you would think that a Banana Royal would be totally loaded. But, it definitely wasn't the Banana Royal from my childhood memories. Sadly disappointed. This Baskin Robbins is definitely a clean place and it does get crowded. But, I don't think it's worth the money. After spending $18 for three items, I would probably have been better off going to Rite Aid and buying a box of cones and a couple of tubs of Pecan Praline. read more

Owner needs to train his high school students about customer service. Had an issue when I ordered a cake. Ordered and paid for a big ass cake that wont fit in my freezer. Had to postpone pick up to a later date because kid got sick, party cancelled. Sales associated assured me I was good to go, and just call back later when I need to it made. Cake was made anyway (their mess up) and a rude chick hit me up, asking me if I was gonna pick up the cake a week AFTER it was originally supposed to be picked up. She told me because it's frozen, the cake can last a while, but from personal experience after some time in the freezer that whipped topping part gets all hard n nasty and the cake itself doesn't taste as great. So I wanted a fresh cake for my god daughter! I emailed the owner, pissed as hell, and he was great at calling me back and addressing the issue. He went into this spiel how he wants his store to be a location known not just for ice cream, but a go to spot in ordering cakes for special occasions and that he hired one of the BEST decorators. I appreciate his efforts in resolving my problem and calling me back and felt a little better in his vision, as a lot of the BR locations in the South Bay closed over the years (3rd Ave, East H, and IB) so we needed another option in the area. A month after speaking to him, party was back in action and re-ordered the cake. We weren't impressed. It was a little lopsided in more ways than one. Also, I came to think that maybe they ended up using the cake I originally ordered in the first place because I kinda changed my specifications on how I wanted it decorated from my original order and even submitted a picture this time around, but the cake I got matched exactly what my original order form said. I spoke to the decorator herself the day of pick up and I tried to be super easy and appreciative when I talked to her and said I trusted her, but that was my mistake. After realizing that and seeing a lopsided cake from "One of the BEST cake decorators ever", left me super disappointed. Ice cream cakes are always a winner at my family functions, and BR's ice cream cakes just taste better than other stores in my opinion. If there's an instance where I HAVE to go to this location to pick up a ready-made cake because the convenience of it, then I will. Ordering a custom made cake, never again. On a hot day who wouldn't love ice cream? Granted that any ice cream store is already over priced you're paying for the experience. Unfortunately on this day it was less than satisfactory. When my kids and I walked in, the place was a mess. All the tables were sticky, and there was blue ice cream all over the floor. Enough to lose my step for a quick second. What bothered me most was the service that was given. Of course the place was busy since it's been hot in San Diego lately but even after waiting a long time in line, the lady still lacked service professionalism. My daughters eyes were huge as she saw the choices she wanted to sample. Unfortunately after her first sample, the lady was already asking the customer after us what she wanted. Yes, maybe it would speed up the process but it's the fact that we felt just like another number instead of a point of focus. Luckily my daughter knew what she wanted quickly. And then there's the sign that says "buy 2 scoops, get a waffle cone for free" thats should be reworded because we bought two single scoops (which adds up to two scoops) but couldn't get the free waffle cones. After I politely asked if it applied to our transaction she rudely told me I'm paying for the cups. So does that mean I can bring my own cup? Or maybe I can get 2 scoops in a waffle cone and ask that the second scoop be placed in a bowl instead? Because there's plenty of times I've gotten a cone and asked for a cup and wasn't charged for it. So decide. If I heard "oh I'm sorry, it only applies to double scoops per person" or something along those lines. Sorry, my business is better spent back at coldstone. read more

The poor workers as well as the customers are facing the windows with the sun coming right through and nothing to block it!
