Restaurant review For such a large town as Fort Wayne, I am surprised that there is only one Baskin Robbins. There is something about this being the iconic ice cream chain that I always wanted to go to as a kid. The pro's is the Baskin Robbins variety of ice cream along with their ice cream cakes which are better than DQ birthday cakes. The bad is the super slow service with a line often going to the door as it is a Dunkin Donuts as well. During these covid times, you don't really want to be clustered together with other people. I was able to order an ice cream Disney Princess cake which looked exactly like the advertisement which was a plus for my daughter's birthday. Today we tried to door dash two shakes from here and they didn't have the ice cream flavors for the shakes they offered on the door dash menu. first of all don't offer those flavors then if you can't fulfill them. In today's world of modern technology yes that is possible, if you are unable to digitally update your menu you probably shouldn't participate in food delivery services. But then instead of trying to work with us and offer other flavors they were acting irritated with the door dasher, listed about two flavors and then just told her the manager was cancelling our order. We weren't event offered a call or the time of day. I tried calling the store and got voicemail. First time trying the Baskin Robbin's here in Fort Wayne and it will definitely be the last. Most mid of mid places to go. I ordered a large mint milkshake. Woman says "let me check to see if we have it" and goes to check. She comes back, finishes order we wait. Time passes, hear her call one of the employees for help. Employee begins asks why she took an order for mint when they're out of mint. Her response "I checked and it was there". Senior employee slams ice cream lid with a "damn it--". I get a milkshake that is milk with a whiff of mint flavoring. This place is awful. Not even a dozen ice cream flavors. Didn't have the stuff to make a ice cream Sunday. When I asked a question they took it as I didn't want my order. Unfortunately won't be back. I just happen to be in the area. The ice cream signs didn't match the flavors they had and the employee did not know which ice cream was which. The other employee told me it was a manager decision. I don't know why this place has bad reviews. Whenever I'm on this side of town, it's a must stop for me. The only guy I ever get when I visit is a red headed guy. Who is very nice, polite, and generous. Which keeps me coming back for more. I managed a Ice cream restaurant for over a decade and I'm love this variety, taste, and service. read more

Let's start by saying save yourself a trip...this place is awful! The employees are not friendly, well trained and in no way customer service oriented. A trip tonight will be out last! There were no waffle cones, as has been the case on numerous occasions. The kid waiting on us didn't seem to know any of the ice cream flavors or where they were located. Our scoops were so small it was ridiculous for the $4 price tag. And then, they closed early (7) after we walked out the door. It clearly states they're open until 8. We were not greeted when we arrived, and it was clear the employees were not happy to be waiting on us. I don't know how this place stays in business!!!! read more

Wow ! Really surprised about some of these reviews. Husband and I went here Tuesday afternoon around 5 pm. A few cars in drive up and a yappy lady with kid inside who apparently had a cell phone glued to her ear. Omgosh !! Get off your phone when having these guys make you and your kid a sundae to your specific order. Utterly rude as hell !! Well they had my favorite Jamocha almond fudge in the freezer ( with the ice cream cakes) so we got one of those. Was also looking for some sherbet. None already to purchase. So I adked the guy and they had rainbow sherbert ( sooo good) but had to hand pack it for me from a large container. He said he would be happy to. He was so nice. Husband couldn't leave without 2 huge apple fritters from the donut shop inside . Sorry he ate them. The 3 guys in there were very nice , young guys. The one who served me was taller then the other 2 and the other guy ( doughnut guy) had a slight beard. I guess if you thank people sometime in the service industry and treat them nice ,they will do the same to you. Shocking huh? Oh yeah, I slipped them my change from a $20 for a tip in the tip jar. Well been here many times and it's pure hit and miss. Sometimes the staff are decent sometimes they act like they wish you hadn't stopped by. Went and ordered two hot fudge sundaes. Then told they're out of nuts and cherries. I push forward. I get my first sundae and then wait about 3 minutes for my receipt. Another 2 minutes and he asks what else I need. My second sundae. Apparently didn't jerlar that either. Oh well. Get home with my sad looking sundaes and apparently they must be running shoet of hot fudge as well as there is hardly any on it. Waste of $11. Not my first bad experience there, just felt like posting about it for once. They're convenient and they know it. Their product is lackluster at best though. read more

While going through the drive through to get ice cream for the family, the clerk told us he could not tell us what flavors they have because they have "22 flavors" So, we looked them up on their website. Then we named off 5 flavors and they didn't have any of them. I understand that most people go in if they want to browse for flavors, but when you have kids and it's the end of the day, it's never very fun. While I love their ice cream (and I'm not a big ice cream fan), their service is horrendous. I got the sense I was bothering the server when I placed my simple, 2 scoops order. This was reinforced at the window when I had the gall to ask for a lid. She rolled her eyes and was obviously annoyed. She practically tossed my order to me, gave me my change and walked away. Alert to the owner of this franchise! Your staff closes your store early! Oh my goodness! We got through with dinner and rushed to the ice cream store and pulled up at 9:12pm to a young lady locking the front doors and mouthing "we are closed" as I look at the sign that says the store closed at 9:30?? I look over to the patio and there is a young man pulling the umbrellas from the tables and ask him why is she locking the doors and telling me you're closed? He says " I don't really know" , I walk to the patio door and she locks that door and mouths "we are closed" again and I say " no you're not" . She opens the door and tells the young man and myself they are closed and the young man says we don't close until 9:30 and she insists "we are closed" and he says go open the other doors. I was astounded at this behavior- after reading FB reviews and the few Yelp reviews, it is apparent that there is a lack of training and possibly faulty hiring practices. That employee was absolutely awful and someone needs to teach her that customers buying ice cream are what pay her wages. Yes, you are the only baskin Robbins but poor service is a good reason to start liking Cold Stone. read more
