On a busy Friday with two toddlers and an eager excited birthday boy, one of the main people took an incredible amount of time to discuss exactly what the birthday boy in question wanted. Never mind the long line(s) they were dealing with, the kindness they showed to my son on a busy Friday meant the world to me. One of the requests was a Skyrim and Legend of Zelda monogram and man did they deliver. It was all done by hand, and was done to perfection. In an industry that has tons of competition, Baskin-Robbins never fails to satisfy. Their pecan pralines and peppermint ice cream are among the best. It's unfortunate that some of the more esoteric flavors like breakfast in bed are not sold year round. Services always friendly and fast. read more

Pink. When I was a little girl, BR was the place we always went to get ice cream and I'm told "pink" was one of my early words. For years and years, I always ordered a single scoop of strawberry on a sugar cone. But then this was the 70s. Remember when we used it eat ice cream out of a box (Lucerne?). Neapolitan if we wanted to get really fancy. How times have changed. It wasn't until my 20s that I discovered Ben & Jerry's and then when I moved to Oregon and found the delishiousness that is Tillamook, Umqua and Cascade and I've got to get a Coldstone fix every now and again. There is still a special place in my heart for BR since they started my life long love affair with ice cream. We still go here with the kids for a special ice cream treat and they are more affordable then other ice cream shops. We also get the ice cream Santas every year (with strawberry ice cream of course) for dinner on Christmas Eve so the family tradition continues. read more

Parking/Location: Plenty and easy to find. Shop: All in all, it looked clean enough, but could be better. Selection: pretty good selection. Waffle cones were stale!! Staff: They appeared overwhelmed when a family came in along with a few others. It was one gal assisting 12 people, until finally the other gal came to help with customers. Who comes to Baskin-Robbins when you're visiting Portland on vacation? Me and my boyfriend, because there are BARELY any Baskin-Robbins in Pittsburgh and we were feeling nostalgic. Customer service here was so friendly when we visited. I had the kids cone with blueberry cheesecake and my boyfriend had the chocolate kids cone. I preordered a clown cake in October to be picked up today and verified pricing when I was finished placing the order which I was told would be $38.99 total I went today and Grace decided to charge me a total of $45.99 due to "special design fee".When I asked what was the special design she had no idea and wouldn't find out either. I love Baskin Robbins. I have fond memories of downing scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough and strawberry cheesecake ice cream in the back storage on my breaks (no they were not free, but heavily discounted). As a past employee, I can pin point all the problems with this Baskin Robbin without blinkling. From what I remember, as employees, we were trained to be unabashedly cheap when it came to serving ice cream to the customers. I remember being asked to water down everything from the chocolate syrup to the melted marshmallow and dough mix for the waffle cones so that supplies would last longer. I also remember that the walnut topping was 3 years past expiration date. Every time someone asked for the walnut topping, I had to dissuade them from ordering it or try to persuade them to choose a different topping, because I just could not, in my conscious, let them have the walnut. I'm all for Baskin Robbins, but Baskin Robbins with an owner that has morals. How about you? read more

I would give no stars to this store. I ordered and paid in full for a polar pizza for last Saturday. My family loves this kind of ice cream cake. I have gotten at least 7 pizzas in the last two years from this store . I am not sure how this young person can to be in charge, but she is not prepared to work with customers. I came in to pick up the pizza and it was obvious through the box the cake was not round. I don't mean not a "perfect "circle. The cake was dented in on one side in a big way . The ice cream on the dented side was very thin , not a thick build up , like if the cake had been pushed in . I spoke up and asked why was the cake not round ? The girl looked confused over the question. I pointed out the cake was not round like the board it was on . Again the girl was confused to my question. The manger another young person said that is the way the cake looks , it was a special order and they can't do anything about . I took the cake to my car and showed it to my friend. She said the same thing . It looks bad . Not like the picture for the cake on the side. I took it back in and asked to have my money back because the cake was defective. I want a cake like I had order in the past and for it to be more round not dented. After 20 minutes of the manager telling me how rude I am . The the cake will taste just fine . I explain it is The presentation. It is a birthday cake. It needs to look good. The cake I had was not up to corporate standards in appearance. After telling me repeatedly she can not give me my money back or make a new cake, she stressed to know what did I want? My money back . The staff was friendly as soon as we walked in and offered to give us samples. There were a few other people before us in line but we were able to order very quickly. The tables were clean and there was no stray garbage on the floor. There weren't even many hand prints on the glass or the doors. Very clean and friendly location! The ice cream tasted fresh and we didn't see ice crystals on any of the flavors. They had a good general selection of flavors and then a nice selection of holiday and local flavors. I had the Oregon blackberry and was pleased. There were even little bits of fruit in it. Spouse ordered quarterback crunch and he enjoyed it. As for service: Maybe we got there on a night where the employee morale was particularly high, and the boss was particularly absent... but we had a great experience. Stopped in to get an ice cream on a 90 degree day. As soon as we walked into the door, we were greeted with a happy hello. The little gal was ready to help us. She scooped up our ice cream and was very generous with the amount. I noticed the other three employees had the same happy attitude. It was a busy place, but it didn't appear that anyone had to wait very long. We chose Gold Medal Ribbon and we were not disappointed.
