Went to the Menchie's at Progress Ridge on my birthday to use the $5 Menchie Bucks email they sent me. Even with my ID and the actual email pulled up (with fine print), the manager flat-out refused to honor it because of a glitch with their new app launch and told me to "call corporate." I paid the $5, but it's not about the money- it's about the lack of customer service. The only reason we came in was for the birthday reward, and instead we left frustrated. A manager should be able to do the right thing for a customer, especially over something so small. If $5 means more than customer loyalty, we'll gladly find another frozen yogurt place. read more

"Oh happy Day, Oh Happy Day" when Menchie's has their pumpkin frozen yogurt. Who the heck needs ice cream??? We made a special trip (5 minutes from our house) to check on what flavors were currently available. We I saw the "Harvest Pumpkin" in the window, I was in. My husband loves it too but he was also excited by the "Peanut Butter Cookie" flavor. We both got Pumpkin plus I got Tart and Vanilla. Husband got Pumpkin, Vanilla and Peanut Butter. We didn't need lunch afterwards. Prices sure have gone up, over $17 (not including a 15% tip) for two normal-sized self-serve cups, but I'm not complaining. I know how expensive everything has become since the COVID pandemic and I am more than willing to support our local business, thick and thin. I'll definitely be back for more. Menchies used to be a weekly stop for us. The staff is always very kind, however, the store doesn't seem to be very clean anymore. The floors look like they haven't been swept in a week, the floor level window seals are full of dirt and dust, the glass doors are super dirty, etc. Cleaning of this such is typically done daily or a minimum once a week in most food based businesses. It also seems lately that every time we go in all the staff are in the back and take several minutes to come to the counter once a guest has arrived. We love the staff, we live the flavor changes, we love the toppings, we love menchies - we just can't get over how not very clean the store seems for how many "down" times they have through out their day. read more

Overall: One of the better Menchie's that I've been to because of the wide variety of flavors. Location: The Progress Ridge area is absolutely one of my favorite areas because of its wide variety of shops with a large parking area. It has a California (LA) shopping center vibe to it. Menchie's is located in the back as you enter from the main entrance. Parking: There's always plenty of parking here, I've never had to struggle for parking. Cell Reception/WiFi: If you are coming here because of a promotion that you found online, make sure to download it before hand! The cell reception (I have T-Mobile) is absolutely horrible and it's the whole plaza. What's even worse is there is no reception at all within Menchie's even though there's plenty of windows. My grands love this Fro-Yo. I like the fact that you can taste as many as you like in these little white envelope type cups before you have to decide what to buy. My grands select a different spoon color each time too...will it be the neon green or the perfect pink? The last time we visited several machines were down...either in the process of making or out of that flavor? Not sure, but it really limited the variety and that is no bueno. Located in the Progress Ridge Plaza thingy they close in the summer at 11 pm everyday except Friday & Saturday when it goes til midnight (!) which is very cool because a couple of the other Progress Ridge businesses are also open late or have extra summer hours! Wow! My little Tigard is growing up, sniffle, sniffle, tear wipe. Someday it will be Scottsdale, AZ, minus the triple digit days, I hope. I have been to lots of the nearby yogurt places, but this one has instantly won me over with their constantly changing LARGE VARIETY of flavors and choices - they have low carb, they have no sugar added, they have all kinds of EASY symbols to indicate allergens and ingredients so I don't have to ask again and again regarding things I am trying to avoid, they separate their nuts from their other toppings and they have a HUGE variety of toppings - from fruit & fresh whip cream to mini gummi bears and marshmallow goo. Their staff is friendly, nice and consistent. So that's all the factual stuff, here's the gut level reaction - BUTTERY POPCORN YOGURT IS SO DAMN YUMMY!! This is a strangely good flavor that I am looking forward to returning soon, I hope. Who says you have to eat dinner first before dessert? Coming in on a Monday at 5:30pm, the place had both customers inside and outside as the sun was out. Sample cups off to the side and of course 14 yogurt options then the swirls of two flavors available too. It's a diy yogurt bar and self explanatory. Two employees were there, one at the counter who was helping customers and refilling toppings and another employee in the back who came out to take out the garbage. I came in the side door by the stairs to the movie theater and didn't see how much it was per ounce as that sign is in the front, 59 cents per ounce. I also wish there were more fruit toppings available as there were only six (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, pineapple, and chocolate covered strawberries) compared to other places that have kiwi and mango at times. Also, I saw waffle cone bits on the back counter near the sample cups and wasn't sure if it was a topping and had to ask. I don't think it cost extra but it was just unclear. There is a space for community event posters to be put up and chalkboard for kids. Even toys as well, if you ask the front counter. I thought it was a cool touch! Convenient location and serves everyone so even picky eaters can go, great for kids as I saw mostly parents and their children here during my time. read more

This is probably my favorite froyo place. They have a variety of flavors including some sorbet ones for vegan patrons. They currently have a mask requirement for anyone who is not vaccinated. They have sanitizer you can use before you get your froyo. They also have their toppings in tiny individual containers and you have to wait until you are outside the store to place them in your froyo. They have numerous toppings to choose from. I usually get the fruit toppings! They have some indoor seating, but I usually sit outside! Definitely worth checking out the next time you are at Progress Ridge! read more

Menchie's ties for my favorite nearby frozen yogurt spot. It's surely a superior way to get some extra calcium in your diet. They have plenty of flavors that change often and many fresh toppings. So, I hate giving Menchie's a bad review, because, with the exception of tonight, I've always had a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Tonight, however, was some of the WORST display of "customer service" I have ever seen. So my buddy and I arrive at 9:54pm to get some frozen yogurt before the shop closes. Yes, we're there riiiiight before closing, but it's self-serve frozen yogurt and we were taking it to go. As we walk in, I see one of the employees take a few of the serving spoons from the toppings area, but I really didn't think anything of it. Fast-forward to getting to the toppings station... Spoons! Where are the spoons for the toppings?! They had already taken ALL of them! Mind you, it's not as if no other clients were in there when my buddy and I went in. There were six other clients that were getting yogurt and they too were wondering who stole the spoons. Everyone is just kind of waiting there trying to figure out what to do. We weren't going to just start taking things by hand (although, one client suggested that ... umm, eww), and we can't use the spoons at the register for more than one topping due to cross contamination issues. So we all ask, where the heck are the spoons? Sarah, one of the two employees, flatly answers that they were already taken back to be washed. Umm... you have a store full of people... why the hell did you take away the spoons to the toppings? The toppings are 50% of what makes Menchie's awesome! No apologies, no sympathies. Just a snippy employee who clearly knows nothing about customer service nor does it appear that she enjoys her job. I then, loudly, say, "I smell a bad Yelp review," to which all of the other clients snicker and laugh. Sarah shoots me the death glare (professional, Sarah, really professional). Whatever. I'll take my frozen yogurt, get some of the chilled toppings (which still had their spoons), and call it a night. Moving forward, she's giving attitude to everyone at the register. She's clearly a top contender for a "Worst Customer Service" award. She gets to me, being all huffy and puffy, and after charging my card, says "next." At this point I'm done with it and fire back, in a fairly rude tone (I regret nothing), "can I get a lid?" More huffing and puffing as she is required to do her job. Seriously, I will be going to back because I enjoy Menchie's... but this was seriously some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, anywhere. I get that you and unnamed employee (she wasn't wearing a name badge - to note, she wasn't terribly bad, but she didn't do much to reign in her clearly horrible coworker) want to get out of work as quickly as possible... however, when you work in place where your paycheck comes ENTIRELY from the clients you interact with directly, I'd suggest taking a few customer service classes and try at it again. Because you're seriously terrible. Oh, and on top of it, I realize when I got home, she didn't get my Smileage info. She didn't even take the time to ask for it. At least the yogurt was good, right? I'm really glad my neighborhood has a decent frozen yogurt spot. I wasn't super impressed with their flavors and variety, and their prices seemed a bit inflated but that's pretty standard for the Progress shopping center I think. They had a decent assortment of fresh fruits, nuts, and other toppings. They had adequate seating with nice large windows inside, and a few tables outside. Looking back, some edgy music or a grizzly bear juggling some bananas would have made this place more memorable. Overall, I'll probably be back here because it's close and convenient and I really like frozen yogurt every once in a while, but that's about it. It's worth checking out! read more

I came in here and it was overcrowded with screaming children. There were only two workers in there and they appeared to be miserable in all the chaos. The flavors were like walking into a bakery with things like chocolate cake, peanut butter cup, brownie. Very rich and indulgent which is usually too sweet for me. When I think frozen yogurt, I think light fat free dessert. But these flavors made it feel more glutinous. The toppings were all stale. There was a boat load of merchandise to buy but I'd rather this business focus more on what they're serving. read more

They let you taste as many flavors of frozen yogurt as you want, but there aren't very many flavors to choose from IMO, at least compared to Baskin Robbins. What makes this place unique is the selection of *toppings*: candies, sprinkles, sauces, mochi, boba, fruit, brownie, nuts, etc. You can fill a cup or cone with whatever combination of flavors you want, with whatever toppings you want, and you get charged by the weight of the cup. I filled my cup to the top, and in the end it cost about $7. That's pretty expensive IMO, but it's nice as a treat once in a while. My favorite flavor of frozen yogurt was the Oreo one. If I come here again, I'll probably top it with peanut butter sauce, mochi, boba, and a chocolate covered strawberry. read more

Wow I had never been upset at this place I went last night for full your cup fridays and when I went to pay two girls that were at the cashier area gave me the dirtiest look, when I was paying one of them asked me if I any reward and I said yes o had $5 dollars which she took off but my total was still over 15 dollars... I asked if it was 6 dollars fill you cup day and one of the girls responded well we don't know how many toppinngs you put so yeah we have to charges you like that sorry. This place definitely gets 4.5/5 stars and I am definitely a fan. So let's break this down in to the essentials. The Positives: Yogurt: They always have "Original Tart" which is, in my not so humble opinion, the best fro yo flavor ever. Menchie's also does a really good job of rotating flavors. There is always something new to try! They also have a really good mix of frozen yogurt that might as well be ice cream and then the more healthy options. Their signage is also really helpful and clear with labels indicating what is low fat, sugar free, low sugar, no sugar added, how many calories in a serving, etc. Toppings bar: Tons of selection! My favorite is the small caramel turtles and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch which, strangely, work really well together. They also have berries and the last time I was there they cut up the strawberries in to eighths which was a very manageable size. Kudos, Menchie's! Sauces: Standard selection. Sugar free fudge, fudge, (heavenly) marshmallow sauce, and caramel. I think there might be one more... Price: Pretty standard for fro-yo. Loyalty Program: Get their Smileage card and get surprised with a free fro-yo every now and then! The neutrals: Service: I have had the BEST service at a frozen yogurt place here and then I have also had some not-so-good service. I don't expect much, but a friendly smile, especially when the company advertises smiling(!!!) goes a long way. Note to fellow yelpers: tip when you have good service here, I think we sometimes forget how hard it can sometimes be to work in food, they are the ones that clean the spoons... The negatives: Layout: The area between the overly large checkout counter and the yogurt dispensers and toppings bars is a little too squished, you cannot really move freely if a slow family is in front of you. Spoons/Bowls: I may very well be mistaken, but neither the spoons nor the bowls are biodegradable. I know, call me picky, a tree hugger, a hippie, whatever, but this is something I have become more aware of as I try to limit the garbage I create. My boyfriend and I recently came here before going to the movies and let's just say we had an awesome experience. Julian was our helper and went above and beyond with helping us with suggestions. If the manager is reading this you really need to give this man a raise! Or at least a monthly award for his dedication to help and serve us. It was cutting it close for closing time when we got here and usually there is some tension in the air with closing.
