I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding a cake I ordered for pickup on February 22 for my husband's birthday, as well as the way the situation was handled afterward. I specifically ordered a praline ice cream cake with white cake and a light drizzle of caramel.  I have ordered cakes from this store before and have never had a problem, so I picked it up without inspecting it. When we opened the cake at 8:00 p.m. that evening, we were surprised to see it was heavily covered in caramel and almost solid with chocolate all over it. Since it was the only dessert we had, we served it, but everyone commented that the chocolate and caramel were overpowering. It was not what I had ordered. I returned to the store on Tuesday to explain the issue. The employee working that day told me the cake could be remade and ready for pickup Wednesday afternoon. I understood this to be a replacement for the incorrect cake, at no additional charge. When I went to pick up the replacement cake, I was told it would cost $39.99. I explained that I believed this was a remake due to the original mistake and therefore should not be charged. The employee stated she could not do that. I declined the cake and asked when the owner would be available because I wanted to discuss the matter directly. I was told I was "not a customer" and was asked to leave. When I requested that my name be taken so the owner could contact me, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. In order to do this review I had to give one star. read more

When I told her, I would appreciate it if she did not touch the bananas with her bare hands, her comment to me was "her shift is almost over, she didn't need to deal with that shit and for me to get out of her store." Even though it was still messed up. We then proceeded to give up and eat it. And we asked for a refund and she said no. She started lecturing me on how she pays for this ice cream herself. I tried to pick up a cake ordered for my son's birthday for two days in a row and finally just had to buy a last minute cake from somewhere else so he had a cake. I have enjoyed this little ice cream store for many years. It's always clean, well lit and there is plenty of safe parking. It's usually staffed by the local high school kids and I really appreciate the "first job" energy they bring. Daiquiri Ice is my favorite ice cream on the planet and Baskin Robbins is the one place to get it. This is the only business in this strip mall, aside from King Soopers, that has been the sand since the strip open on the late seventies. I think that's a testament to what the Columbine area thinks of this business. Sometimes I wish they had more than one person working the counter as service can be a bit slow. All in all? This is my favorite local ice cream stop. read more

Even though many sources such as their website, map sites, and even the sticker on their front door say this location opens up at 11am. The door remained locked and the lights turned off until later in the day. When questioned, the employee seemed oblivious and just shrugged. Their customer service is actually horrific. I've never really had a poor costumer service interaction before. One girl who was working there was extremely rude. She had no enthusiasm to work and clearly didn't want to be there at all. She was barley even doing her job, she was almost always in the back room with a long line that wasn't moving. I'm not sure her name but she had dark hair and piercings. The ice cream is always the same, it's good. But almost every-time I've gone, a worker there always has an attitude with all the customers. read more

Excellent service. Love all of the flavors and the milkshakes are a must try! I usually come here for the medium jamoca cappuccino blast or to get one of the pre-packed quarts. The quarts are a great deal and taste so much better than any of the grocery store ice cream. Also, there is the flavor of the month which usually taste great and it's cool to see what new flavors they come up with. read more

I went today and the ice cream was great! But I would like to point out the great service by Will and he was very nice and respectful

We went into the store and there was not an employee out front. A teenage guy dressed in a French maid costume and lipstick came out from the back. No uniform, nothing identifying himself as an employee. Then when he was scooping ice cream from a new container on the counter, he touched the ice cream with his bare hands. He did not have gloves on and did not just wash hands at a visible sink. We were disgusted and left. They lost out on an order for five people. We will never return. read more

Chong I believe the manager served us poorly today. Went in with my 3 kids for ice cream after our haircuts. They each asked for a sample of a flavor, one ordered her flavor and was served. Then Chong skipped us to serve another behind us, (there were only two people behind us and they came in just after we did so it's not like we were taking too long) saying "if you're not ready I'll serve her" we were literally ready to order and were immediately offended that she'd just skip over us. She then got back to us and my two kids each asked for one more sample flavor and were both given the wrong flavor. She seemed annoyed that they wanted samples. That is part of the ice cream business to offer small samples. Being given the wrong flavor samples is dangerous, what if they'd had allergies, that's very dangerous to be that careless. Then we ordered and got our ice creams and they were very small scoops, ice chunks inside, and slightly melted already. When we've ordered with other staff they are not scooped this small. I didn't even order my own cone after all this annoyance with her service. Many of the ice creams we didn't order looked melted on top. We won't be back until we see a big banner advertising this is under new management. This is not Baskin Robbins quality service. And it's too bad, they have delicious flavors. Our business will go to Magill's now, even though it is more far away, at Jewell and Wadsworth, ice cream is homemade, ice cream cakes are more affordable, and service for SURE is more friendly and generous. read more

For 3 years we've been getting our chocolate milkshakes from this location and they were great until recently. I ask for "extra thick", I keep getting a thin, milky horrible shake. We normally love this spot, until today. My five year old's ice cream rolled off of her cone as we were walking away from the counter. She did not trip and she did not drop her cone, the ice cream literally rolled off. They charged us for another whole cone instead of just replacing what was obviously their error in packing the ice cream. Very disappointing customer service. read more

Because it is close, we go to this Baskin Robbins fairly often, and generally we have good results. The shop is always clean & the people that work there are usually friendly & prompt. The reason for the two stars is 80% of the time I order a cappuccino blast. It seems like every time the owner makes the cappuccino blast it comes out EXTREMELY weak flavored. I think she is trying to cut corners by adding extra ice and less ice cream-there have been many other occasions where this has been the case, so it isn't a onetime deal. These drinks have risen in cost quite a bit, so it is very irritating when you pay $8.99 for a medium sized drink, and it tastes more like ice than cappuccino. I do want to add, that all of the other employees do a good job. read more

We have been visiting this BR location for a number of years. Yesterday, my 2 adult daughters and I (after eating the same things all day), picked up ice cream cones and we each ordered a different flavor. The daughter who ordered Rocky Road ice cream soon became violently ill. We have since learned that if ice cream is allowed to thaw even a bit, re-freezing it will not kill the Listeria bacteria. My daughter is still feeling pretty awful today, and we'll be visiting her doctor is she doesn't improve soon. Be warned, folks. And yes, we're going to let the store know. read more

It's a smaller location. When I've been in, the staff have been friendly, but there are not many people working, so they can get overwhelmed when a large group comes in. It's a typical BR, the ice cream is ok. read more

My 15 year old daughter went to get us ice cream in while I stayed in the car with the dogs. She came out a few moments later empty handed and said that they refused to serve her. She said the man behind the counter said "I can't help you." after waiting in line behind a family that seemed to have no trouble getting ice cream she was denied service. She is clean cut, polite and never makes a scene so I know that she wasn't disruptive in anyway. My daughter didn't want mom going "Karen" on the guy so I didn't go back in. So I turned to yelp. If you're turning away customers based on their ages, that's an issue with me. Let's just say that I will find somewhere else to get my ice cream from now on. read more

For three years in a row I ordered custom made ice cream cakes from this location and every time the orders were made wrong. One time the colors weren't right, another time the details where wrong, and this time the cake was made wrong again. I ordered a cake for my daughter's 10th Birthday. I spend at least a half an hour going over all the details with the clerk . The sweet lady who was working that day was very caring and helpful. We wrote down all the details and even a code of the cake from their book. The owner who makes the cakes called me and asked about all the details a couple days later. A week later when I came to pick it up I was shocked!!! Instead of a round cute cake it was rectangular, ugly, and had the wrong detailems on it. I decided not to buy it and started to look at different premade cakes in the store. Unfortunately there were not any flavors of cakes that my daughter would eat. I didn't know what to do since my daughter's party was starting in a couple of hours. The nice lady at the register gave me a good discount on my cake, so I pick up my original cake. It's not about money for me, I was willing to pay full price and make my girl happy. What a big disappointment!!!! read more

What a nice place. I went there when I was a girl and going there now brings back memories. I visit very often because of these two lovely ladies who work there. I think Ms. Talia and Ms. Makayla. Both very kind and friendly to me . Well... it's an ice cream place. It's fine. It's no Coldstone Creamery, but it's a classic and I have a lot of good memories of going here as a child. There's a lot of turnover on the staff, since most of them are high school students, but they all seem trained pretty well and are friendly. I think they still have dog treats if you want to bring your furry friend along (though dogs have to stay outside, of course). It's a nice place to walk to on a warm evening if you live nearby. (I cannot BELIEVE I used to love that awful bubble gum ice cream as a kid. So wrong. So wrong!) read more

We bought a cake from her today and she helped me carry out to the car because I had my hands full with a car seat and a 6 year old. Definitely go here and I promise you won't be disappointed! I am sad 1 star is the lowest rating I can give. If you want a cake made for a special occasion please consider going elsewhere. Over the years this location and owner have made cakes for us each time "something " has gone wrong the cake is never ready at the appointed time. It is always blamed on someone else. Fact of the matter is if you own the business anything that happens good or bad is your responsibility. This will be the last time we order from this business after not having my cake ready when I requested 3 days in advance with a online order the owner was called and said she could have it in a hour? Really I ordered it for a time we needed in order to celebrate a birthday on our timeline not hers. She offered to deliver it to me but we were not celebrating at home. When I went back to get the cake because it was for someone in a nursing home who's only request was this particular ice cream cake due to COVID didn't get a birthday last year. We only have a small time we can visit due to health concerns and to see someone looking forward to one thing and having to watch them cry because they couldn't have it because someone was too uncaring to make it and it was already paid for. Then to be mocked when picking it up that really 1 hour made that much difference yes in this case yes it did. We will have to take it tomorrow because we missed the visitation window. No refund was offered no human regret or concern was shown she did offer 3.00 off cake after I voiced my disappointment with the whole process. Done with this business if karma comes through I wouldn't want to be anywhere near this business when it happens. I am angry, disappointed, disgusted and sad for the birthday person. My daughter picked out the cake for her birthday online. It was a "Frozen" them cake that was blue, purple and pink. When my husband went to pick it up it took them 10 min to find the cake and it was not the same caked pictured online. It was the "Frozen" theme, but not what she had picked out. I called Monday to complain and the owner argued with me and told me the website was out of date and that I should have come into the store to order the cake. The cake was $80...when I am paying that much for a cake, it should be exactly what I ordered. It tasted good and the flavors were correct, but the experience was horrible. Needless to say, I will NEVER go back to that location. They are all individually owned, so I will go to the one on Mineral from now on. read more
