This is the best sushi on the west side. Denver metro has a thriving Asian cuisine scene and Makizuchico holds its own. Preparation was very nice and everything tasted fresh! I love this place for a casual Thursday night or the tasting menu to celebrate something special. Parking in the area is tough because of the brewery next door but it's worth it!

Loved my omakase experience at Makizushico. I did the $80 omakase option which was 20 pieces. Very unique dishes, presentation was beautiful and the staff were very kind. I have nothing but high praises! Parking in the afternoon on a weekday was a little busy as the businesses in the area were very busy with children's extra curricular activities.

Still as amazing as I remember. Took my partner here for his birthday. We got the $120/person omakase and a California roll for our baby girl. As of 2-21-2026 they offer three tiers of omakase, $80, $100, and $120. As mentioned, we got the $120 omakase. It was worth every penny. Started off with miso soup with snow crab and a salad, then chawamushi, then the nigiri courses started coming. I don't remember everything, but I absolutely loved the foie gras and uni! I was wowed by every piece and so was my partner. The service is great and the restaurant is clean and modern. Our server brought over a Mille crepe cake for my partners birthday and it was so tasty! We will definitely be coming back for our celebrations and date nights!

Went to Makizushico for omakase last time to use up my American Express Platinum Resy benefit, since it's one of the few Asian restaurants in town offering lunch service on Resy. Having enjoyed it so much then, as this quarter's Resy benefit was about to expire, went back for another meal. The place was quite busy during luch hours on a weekday, with a steady stream of customers coming in. Many didn't even glance at the menu, probably regulars. Knowing their omakase is excellent, this time ordered from the menu. Ordered miso soup, gyoza, toro sashimi, sushi deluxe, chirashi bowl, gyu-don, unagi don, and a slice of mille cake this time. The miso soup was solid--hot and properly simmered. Gyoza had crispy skins with chewy wrap and tasty fillings--well done. The toro sashimi was fresh and generously cut. No frills needed, just a dip in soy sauce was enough to bring out its fine texture and flavor. The sushi deluxe included eight varieties of nigiri and salmon rolls. The sashimi slices were generously thick, uniformly sized and cut, with rice balls holding together perfectly, not too loose or tight. The vinegared rice complemented the fish's natural sweetness well. The chirashi rice was prepared excellently, springy and chewy, paired with several types of raw fish sashimi, including some premium cuts, all sliced to just the right thickness. The gyu-don used thin slices of tender marbled beef. The rich sauce and sweet onions complemented the beef's savory flavor beautifully. The rice, soaked in the sauce, is fluffy and delicious, rivaling Yoshinoya's beef bowl. The kabayaki eel pieces in the unagi don were quite generous. The skin was slightly crispy, while the meat was rich, tender, and succulent. The kabayaki sauce was perfectly balanced, neither too sweet nor too salty. The rice was soft and chewy. Finally, the mille cake had a silky smooth texture that melted in the mouth, with a delightful blend of creaminess and pastry aroma, without being overly rich. Another satisfying meal.

Dare I say it - this might be one of the best Sushi spots in Denver. My friend told me this spot and I was honestly dubious. A littleton strip mall sushi spot typically doesn't perk my ears - but I decided to give it a try. And man am I glad I did. Fresh fish, friendly service - delicious creations. Their omakase is honestly hard to beat. They have 3 tiers but their first tier is SUCH a good deal. 20 items for 80 bucks. You get 4 non-sushi items - that are still delicious. Miso soup, salad, Chawamushi egg, and dessert. But otherwise everything else is a nigiri, sashimi, or handroll. Some favorites: Any and all of the tuna belly. We got a variety while we were there of varying grades and can honestly say they were all delicious and melt in your mouth. Seared salmon belly - one of my favorites. Perfectly balanced flavors and textures. Baby flounder nigiri with chilicrisp - this was a surprising one for me. I don't typical order it - but it was super fresh and a fun meld of flavors. Uni handroll - we added Uni because its our favorite and it came fresh from Japan that morning. Super fresh and delicious. Santa barbara Uni has nothing on hokkaido. The other thing is the presentation. I was impressed by the details. Cute and different spoons each time. And there was even one where they put the nigiri in a book they lit on fire. There was also one dish where the fish was in a smoker that they opened up when delivered. Get your cameras and IG ready. And the plus - drinks/sake are a great deal too. A full bottle of house sake is only $10. Can't find that anywhere else. Overall amazing spot. Would I come back? Yes and have been several times already

Love this place! We've been maybe 3-4 times and everytime I feel very satisfied! It's probably my favorite sushi place I've had in the Denver metro area! Highly recommend. Service is friendly but sometimes a littler slower, but it's delicious and worth it. Love the wooden interior and the ambiance. Highly recommend!

Came here for dinner. Parking lot was pretty packed but found a spot right away. We opted for the omakase and it did not disappoint. every single dish served was delicious and fresh. Food came to our table fast and server was pretty attentive. This is definitely a place I would go to over and over again er again.

It was like this through our entire meal and beyond

I don't know if there's been a change in ownership but something has changed. Three of us waited for almost 15 minutes even though they weren't busy because none of the empty tables were bussed. There were 5 more tables near ours that had used dishes on them and they stayed that way through our meal and even after we left (see photos). There were four men behind the sushi bar and no one said welcome or even acknowledged our presence. The server was poorly attentive. No one seems to care. The sashimi deluxe still had fresh fish, but was pretty skimpy with a lot of filler on a mountain of ice. The value just isn't there. Not sure what happened. They used to be top notch.

Oh my gosh. This is SO good. It is some of the best sushi I've had so far in CO. Lovely spot, good parking, friendly staff, very clean place. The fish was so fresh; this is absolutely a must-try if sushi is your thing.

Wow! What an experience. If you have never tried the Omakase experience, you should try it once. Price varies per market, well worth it! We had the opportunity to try it this time in Colorado and oh what a treat! Pleasant indoor seating, calm, and very inviting. Ishiu was our Chef and he is one in a million. He is such a delight and we sat up at the counter and believe me - we enjoyed the experience. it was definitely a "When Harry Met Sally" scene

    Chirashi
    Ruth C.

Nice chirashi but rice was either el dente (is there such a thing with rice?) or just a bit hard. It was plain with no seasoning or "sushi rice". The sashimi were all nice and fresh, just a bit thin and small. Since it was an entree I would have thought soup and salad would accompany it, but no dice. The dragon roll took awhile t9 be ready, due to "grilling the unagi", but the roll was mostly rice and very little unagi. The environment was nice and only a couple of other folks were there mid to late afternoon. So glad we tried it out. Am always looking to check out different sushi places.

Makizushico. Its sushi game is a 10. Yes. Omakase. This has become our go-to restaurant for a date night in Littleton. The ambiance is excellent: good table spacing, beautiful decor, no loud music, typically respectful volumes from all of the other's tables, open view to all of the sushi action behind the sushi bar. This is second time we tried the Omakase menu. It was $100 per person, and definitely worth it for a special night. Everything the chefs prepared was incredible, but the smoked otoro and the foie gras sushi stood out to is as the stars of the show. The service staff was attentive, friendly, prompt with bringing out each new dish, and able to explain what each item was without hesitation. They also can accommodate gluten sensitivities with GF soy sauce. And our waiter made us aware of any items on the menu that were prepared ahead of time with soy sauce already in the marinade.

Ok... this place was pretty good all hands down !! I'm a big fan of Japanese cuisine and my man took me on a date, and he chose pretty well! I was super excited to see that they served an eel bowl which was fire! This bowl came with sliced avocados and fluffy white rice. Our takoyaki was good as well. We also had some individual sushi which was on point! My citrus cocktail that I had was really good as well. Service was friendly and quick. The ambiance was chill and the decor was very modern and minimalistic.

The only reason why I know about this restaurant is because a gift card I got, which listed Sushi Basho as one of the restaurants I can use my card. When entering the door, diners are greeted by a big aquarium. It's actually a great way to stare at the tank and its creatures while waiting to be seated. A table of 8 was arranged and set for us, and in a couple of minutes, we were escorted to our table. Colorado can be brutal in the winter, and this evening, sitting right near the door, I felt chills each and every time the front door was open. However, the heat from the above heater did keep me warm every now and then. As we looked at the menu, I realized there are a lot of options for us to choose. If one doesn't like sushi, they can order some other types of food including their dinner boxes, which a friend and I decided to do. My dinner box came with a small side salad, a choice of miso or hot and sour soup, and the main meal box. Other friends ordered various types of sushi, boiled fish, and a bowl of pork katsu. All enjoyed their food and said they would go back again to eat here. My box meal contained rice, 4 pieces of coconut shrimp, gyoza, a variety of tempura including shrimp and taro, and the main star of the box: salmon with vegetables. Everything was delicious and I did eating everything, but the taro tempura was so good! Perfectly cooked to where, when bitten, it was crunchy on the outside and had great texture inside. It's hard to describe it, and my suggestion is to ask them to prepare one or two taro tempura so that you can have the same eating experience. I was very happy to be able to enjoy a great meal here. I would come back another day and try one of their lunch specials. My grade is a B+.

Once we were seated, a nice, young server came to us to take our drink order. Some opted for cocktails, others for soda, some just sipped on water. The selection of sushi rolls, hand rolls, soups, salads and appetizers is outstandingly huge. I was tasked with ordering for the group, so I rattled off 20 ish rolls that seemed good to everyone's liking. Seaweed and Kani salads made their way around the table, along with crispy tuna rice and tempura veggies - a great way to start! YUM! I overordered for our group (some ordered their own entrees) so we left with many to-go boxes for next day's enjoyment! Pricing is on point and reasonable for the quality and freshness of the fish. Our bill for all of us with everything was under $400 which was shocking to me! I will take off 1 star for service. I know our party was huge, requested a large amount of food and drinks, but service lacked. A space for us wasn't ready upon arrival (creating a wait/rush to push tables together for our party), our waters were never refilled, extra plates never cleared, cocktails/beer forgotten (which we didn't end up paying for considering we didn't get it), and the entire experience left us kind of disappointed - but willing to give the place another shot. Having worked in food service, I understand the issues associated with larger parties and the pressure it creates, so I'd come back - and especially for to-go orders! yum!
