I have been coming to this BR for over 40 years and I want to commend Lou for his service and personality. He is the most personable employee ever at this BR. He greets every customer as if he's been knowing you for years. In fact, he even knows what I routinely order. I often order a quart of chocolate to go. After a day of painting with my mentee, We decided to get some ice cream! The establishment was clean and following COVID protocols. They employees were very friendly too! I got a scoop of turtle topped with nuts! It was so good! The nuts were the icing on the cake lol I didn't get a pic of my mentees ice cream, But she had one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of cotton candy on a sprinkle cone. read more

I stopped by Baskin Robbins for the first time ever after walking home on the Greenway one evening. I had recently seen advertisements for the flavor of the month which was OREO 'n Cold Brew at the time in March 2021. These are two of my favorite flavors so I had to have one before it went away. I had a great experience at this Baskin Robbins and the ice cream was just as good as I hoped for. This location is currently limiting entry to one group at a time so I waited outside for maybe 2 minutes while other customers finished. The employee at the counter, which I think was actually the owner, was very cordial and joked with us. I got 3 scoops of the OREO 'n Cold Brew in a cup and was on my way. I see ice cream cakes in my birthday futures from here. I'm confused why this location only has 3 stars. I thought this was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet treat. read more

This location of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream is in a little strip along Carrolton Ave near the Lafitte Greenway, right in front of Rouse's. It has the typical 31-derful flavor options that change according to the seasons, but has some classic flavors available year round. They have a case of ice cream cakes, grab and go flavors and some novelty tiems available to the right of the regular counter. They have a few tables to enjoy your frozen treats right there, and a few seats just outside. I will admit I don't go here frequently, but last night after we arrived 10 minutes too late to get into Brocatto's just up the street, we were VERY happy that this locations stays open until 10PM on a Sunday night. read more

Nothing beats this ice cream parlor. I had been craving ice cream for a few weeks now. We all know ice cream is good on the lips, but heavy on the hips. There was a nice size crowd in the parlor. I must admit, I watched an employee handle a difficult customer with absolute grace. The customer had three young excited kids with her. The kids were indecisive and wanted to try every flavor in the cooler. Finally, the mother ordered a scoop of ice cream on a sugar cone. The employee gave the child the ice cream. The mother says "He's gonna drop that can you put it in a cup?" The employee honors her request, but the child throws a fit because he wants to eat it off the cone. The mother then ask the employee to put the ice cream back on a cone.The employee made a fresh ice cream for the child. Kudos to the employee for having patience. I finally was able to order one scoop of pralines and cream with one scoop of butter pecan on a waffle cone. Yep, I over did it. It was well worth the wait and calories. read more

Very unpleasant experience. 4 employees in the store and they all had attitudes and very rude. I jokingly said "we are gonna try all 31 flavors today" to which one employee very sarcastically said "we have 32" I laughed and she just stood there staring me down. So I proceeded with my order seeing that they didn't want to joke around. No problem. I ordered a praline and cream shake, a strawberry cheesecake scoop and a cookie and cream scoop. My daughter tried the Lunar Cheesecake. I asked if it was pistachio flavored and a voice from behind the counter said "no, it's cheesecake duh. Ma'am it's just green" I was taken aback by the comment but ignored it then ... Again I'm talking to my daughter, I said my stomach is gonna hurt because I have a shake and it has milk added to the ice cream. The worker said DUH! It's a milkshake and they all looked at me like I was an alien. There's no way they really thought o didn't know milk was on the shake. To top it off, my youngest daughter was served the wrong flavor ice cream. When I made them aware no one apologized or anything. They just started talking amongst themselves about the cashier's boyfriend who works next door. I've never ever felt more disrespected as a customer and I visit this location often. This Baskin Robbins Just opened up in the Mid City area only a few weeks ago. In fact it is so new that I had to add the business listing to yelp. The customer service was alright. I mean the little girl behind the counter was friendly enough. I thought it was sorta weird that she had an aversion to answering the store phone. I had the classic banana split, which was something I haven't had in a long time.The ice cream was good, but it wasn't like an earth shattering or mind blowing experience were talking about here. This is Baskin Robbins ya dig, not creole creamery. I am not the biggest fan of Baskin Robbins I will admit. But it is good to see this new addition to the Mid City area. I probably eat ice cream 4 times a year, and rarely do I leave home with the sole intent of buying ice cream to eat right there. But I saw that there was a Baskin Robbins right in the heart of the Mid-city shopping complex and I couldn't resist. Parking was super easy. The shop: I should call it a 'shoppe'. It's cute, small, well lit, and CLEAN! And you know exactly what sugar cones and waffle cones and happiness smell like when you walk in. The guy behind the counter was fast and courteous and let me try a few samples (I know, I know...we all owe it to ourselves to try new flavors) but I ended up with a double dip...chocolate and cookies'n'cream. Both had perfect mouthfeel. I ordered it in a waffle cone, and it was okay BUT seemed to have way to much cinnamon. I'm hoping it was just a mistake in the measurements for that batch. That might sound weird, but it was getting late, much too late for ice cream and it was the lesser of evils I could think of. .....So I walk into Baskin Robbins and have to maintain discipline as I try to not let my eyes be larger than my stomach. I think I succeeded a bit. I only ordered a banana split sundae with two scoops of vanilla bean, one scoop of chocolate chip, caramel, chocolate fudge, nuts, cherries, but HOLD the whipped cream, I'm trying to watch what I eat here ya know. So as I watched exactly what I ate go down into my belly, i was reminded of the days when i was a Lusher student uptown on St. Charles and Carrollton Ave. There was a Baskin Robbins right across the street and the workers there would give us free ice cream for getting A's on tests and quizzes. It was awesome! The sundae ran me for about six bucks and it was well worth each dollar. This is my goto when I didn't make it to Angelo Brocato before they close, or on a Monday when A.B. isn't an option at all. Great service, good deals, clean store front. Can't complain. read more

That female manager is rude, she cut my phonecall off before I was finished talking! No curve side service, I can't walk far because of physical conditions, but I still can drive. My girlfriend and I decided to go to Blue Oak BBQ on Carrollton for dinner one Saturday night. Even though we were quite full from our meal, she convinced me to walk to Baskin-Robbins for some ice cream. The store was very clean and the staff members were super friendly. I have no idea how she was able to order even a single scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream knowing of the feast we had just consumed. The gentlemen scoopist (Is that what they are called? Probably not but that's how I will forever refer to them) asked if there was anything else for our order. I requested a single M (of the M&M/Mars Corporation) to hopefully balance out the savory mouth I was currently maintaining knowing any more would make my stomach feel overly burdened. He beamed at me with a look of excited confusion. "Really? Only one M," he asked cautiously. "Yes. Just the one will do." He lovingly slid the M into my outstretched hand from his candy scoop. "Thanks for coming by," he exclaimed. "Thank you, sir." Upon exiting, the owner was standing near the door. He smiled and said, "We aren't stingy with our M&Ms. You can have more." "Thank you but all I needed was the one." I am glad to know there are places that cater to my humor and sometimes silly requests. We will surely be back. Maybe next time I'll get a full serving of M&Ms as a topping. Or perhaps, just one more will do. read more
