I don't have a big sweet tooth but I love the nostalgia that is Baskin Robins. Sometimes working with kids they want to stop for a sweet treat and this place always comes to mind. Ice cream is a universal treat loved by most people. This location in Newbury Park / Thousand Oaks isn't far off of the freeway, but at the same time if you weren't familiar with the area I doubt you would just stumble upon it as it's off a major street down a little. Kind of hidden. This store is super small but if it's not busy then it's comfortable. When we stopped here for a mid afternoon treat we thankfully were the only customers so it didn't feel cramped. We sat inside and it was very comfortable but again, only can fit like two sets of customers with seating and definitely would be uncomfortable with a small crowd. The staff were super nice and friendly. Great service and patience with my kid as she looked over the flavors. That's always nice. The gal who rang us up was quick and gave a nice scoop. Prices are a little much for me but I get this is a well known brand and they can up charge. Sometimes I'm just shook that I'm paying close to $4 for a scoop when I can buy a whole tub of ice cream for that price. Oh well. I love the smell of baskin robins when you walk in because like I said it's nostalgic and reminds me of happy times. Great that they are still in business and have stayed true to their brand and decor. Love that baby pinkish purple logo and spoons. Always a nice spot to stop and this location was very clean and with nice staff. I'd come back.

    Helpful workers!

Thank you to these wonderful young men for helping create my son's birthday icecream! So lucky to have hard workers like Jack L and Emery!

Baskin Robbins is such a special place to me. It reminds me of my childhood and I love stopping in for a treat. I had to take off two stars because I'm bothered by the fact that they don't wear gloves or wash their hands before handling the ice cream. We've been to this location many times and nearly every employee has this problem. Do I want you to handle money or touch your hair and then grab my ice cream cone (the part that isn't wrapped in paper)? NO! Do I want you to touch my daughters ice cream toppings with your dirty hand? NO! Gloves are not worn to keep your hands clean.....it is to ensure that the the food being served is not contaminated by your dirty hands. That is all.

I at first didn't realize this was a Baskin-Robbins, just because of the sign being different from what I'm use too seeing on a Baskin Robbins. Overall, great service, straight to the point. After my group and I got our ice cream, we sat at the provided table that was available inside. One thing I would say is that it's easy to miss the ice cream flavors that's on the left side because it's placed in an angle where you don't think there's more ice cream, but there is. Overall, clean, friendly service and great environment to eat ice cream at.

This is a perfectly fine Baskin Robbins in Newbury park. The two times I've come here they have not had any clown cones (my favorite) but my friend comes here more often and says he's seen them. Hopefully the fact that they don't stick around long means they're fresh? I will find out if they ever have them in stock when I visit. :) Since they didn't have clown cones I got a regular scoop of ice cream on a sugar cone. the cone was crisp and the ice cream was cold, sweet and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the store was clean. Can't ask for more! I'd return here. Note: this is a small shop and they have some classic/standard flavors that are NOT in the display cases. They are behind the counter and there is a menu board listing them. My friend thought they had no vanilla offerings at all but one of the staff pointed to the menu board where they had a couple vanilla options. That was also where I found my World Class Chocolate that I had thought was missing.

Some of the flavors are more traditional like mint n chip, cookie dough, chocolate brownie, etc. They also have other flavors that they have made themselves like It's A Goody. It was hard to know what was in the ice cream because the sign only says the name and doesn't give a description of the flavor. A description would be very helpful as a customer. I asked the young man working what was in the cappuccino ice cream because it looked like some type of nut and he didn't know. We decided to grab a single scoop of the chocolate brownie. This flavor was delicious and perfect for a chocolate lover. I would get this one again. We also got It's A Goody which was vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks and peanut butter chunks in it. We also ordered the cinnamon one, but we were not given the cinnamon one, we were given the banana pudding one. Thankfully we really liked the banana pudding one because that's not the one we asked for. I think there's some room for improvement at Coaches but I still enjoyed the ice cream.

I know this is a very sleepy town, but c'mon, prime Saturday afternoon in the summer and we're the only ones in the place? There were some unique ice cream flavors, but there was something off with the toppings. Everyone in our party got a sundae, and chose something different for our toppings. Unfortunately those of us with a nut based topping had a rancid nut oil taste, maybe a function of being in these little drawers at the counter for God knows how long. The cherry on top was that there is a street fighter arcade game there that said 100 Yen on the coin slot. I asked the kid working if it was set up to take quarters, or was just for show, and he said yeah, you can put quarters in, and then it promptly stole my kids quarter and the kid behind the counter wouldn't replace it. Thanks so much for that!

But after going back 7 years later I can truly say that Sam (the owner) of the business is a member of our community that truly means a lot to us. He is always working there, day in day out and probably cannot afford to hire people due to the costs of running the business, but it probably is what he is passionate about and has always wanted to own and run the place. He charges higher end prices but it's for the good of business and community. In this economy, the poor man has to do what's necessary to stay open. This isn't a large chain corporation like Yogurtland. So if he is strict on samples, it's for good measure. Every cent or yogurt wasted or taken without payment is a loss from his pockets. People need to give him some more respect as he looks like he's trying his best to keep his business running. It's hard times right now and he is a member of this community that we should support, regardless of if you've have past transgressions with the man or don't like him for how he looks or how he runs his business; because, in the end, it's his business and his company and his dream most likely to run this place. Having just been through an MRI test, I decided to treat myself to a small sundae. Hadn't had one in ages! Their hot fudge is outstanding! Just the hit of chocolately goodness I was craving. I paired it with lemon sorbet. It was a wonderful combination of sweet and tart. It was warm enough to sit out on their side patio and just relax for a while. I remarked to DH that I miss all the plants that the previous business owner had kept out on the patio for atmosphere. The current iteration is clean, but on the boring side. We love their food, so I'm overlooking the lack of ambiance for now. That being said, DH and I have been discussing recently how much we miss the kinds of places that used to have great style in their decor. Theme restaurants are more rare these days than they ought to be. I'm sorry for our kids and grandkids that they don't get to experience more of those kinds of visually interesting kinds of places without having to go to a theme park.
