I am at Baskin-Robbins here on August 22, 2026. I read a review from an individual by the name of Melissa. She came in for some nostalgia for some remembering. I can respect that I did the same thing today you see I grew up here in the early 70s went to elementary school here junior high school and of course high school and I loved coming in here for a mint and chip ice cream. I remember the friendly staff servers and they were generally high school students just like myself friendly and happy. Today I came in and I was greeted by a man on this day. Who could care less about the individual standing before them well, I was trying to compliment and tell him about my earlier experiences here when growing up, he could care less he was rude. This is not the Baskin-Robbins that I grew up with here in Newbury Park. I may have been gone for a long time, but I've certainly come back. I don't have a big sweet tooth but I love the nostalgia that is Baskin Robins. Sometimes working with kids they want to stop for a sweet treat and this place always comes to mind. Ice cream is a universal treat loved by most people. This location in Newbury Park / Thousand Oaks isn't far off of the freeway, but at the same time if you weren't familiar with the area I doubt you would just stumble upon it as it's off a major street down a little. Kind of hidden. This store is super small but if it's not busy then it's comfortable. When we stopped here for a mid afternoon treat we thankfully were the only customers so it didn't feel cramped. We sat inside and it was very comfortable but again, only can fit like two sets of customers with seating and definitely would be uncomfortable with a small crowd. The staff were super nice and friendly. Great service and patience with my kid as she looked over the flavors. That's always nice. The gal who rang us up was quick and gave a nice scoop. Prices are a little much for me but I get this is a well known brand and they can up charge. Sometimes I'm just shook that I'm paying close to $4 for a scoop when I can buy a whole tub of ice cream for that price. Oh well. I love the smell of baskin robins when you walk in because like I said it's nostalgic and reminds me of happy times. Baskin Robbins is such a special place to me. It reminds me of my childhood and I love stopping in for a treat. I had to take off two stars because I'm bothered by the fact that they don't wear gloves or wash their hands before handling the ice cream. We've been to this location many times and nearly every employee has this problem. Do I want you to handle money or touch your hair and then grab my ice cream cone (the part that isn't wrapped in paper)? NO! Do I want you to touch my daughters ice cream toppings with your dirty hand? NO! After my group and I got our ice cream, we sat at the provided table that was available inside. One thing I would say is that it's easy to miss the ice cream flavors that's on the left side because it's placed in an angle where you don't think there's more ice cream, but there is. HORRIBLE customer service! Probably the worst we have ever experienced at any ice cream shop! The term: "The customer is always right" is not a term this Baskin-Robbins location is familiar with. Last time we stopped in, they were out of our favorite flavor, Oreo Cold Brew. The employee helping us at the time promised it would be back in stock as soon as possible. Confident as ever, we marched up to Baskins for our long-awaited cone of this delicious java flavor. And what were we met with? Unhelpful workers. Unpleasant service. Unrealistic excuses!!! 1. The three teenage boys working told us they DID have Oreo Cold Brew "in the back", but refused to grab us a single scoop (probably more because they were closing in 20 minutes). Remarking that if they did do that for us, they would be "fired on the spot" by a manager who was not even present. Talk about poor management!!! Your employees are so frightened by you that they'd rather piss off customers than face your wrath? News flash: I worked at an ice cream store for YEARS, and grabbing ice cream from the back is not and never should be a problem, especially for a customer! Definitely NOT a fireable offense. 2. Your younger employee working on the closing shift of Sunday June 25th was a rule-follower to an asinine and annoying degree. We tried to order a small shake with two scoops (one pistachio and one butter pecan). He proceeded to explain, for what felt like fifteen minutes, how there is only one scoop in a small shake...HOW? After being difficult, he flips through his little shake manual and discovers a small actually has TWO scoops, not one. You'd think he would be apologetic and accommodate us for not only wasting our time, but also HIS mess up. But no. 3. After all of that, on our final order, he scooped us a tiny ass serving of ice cream (one made for a child). We didn't order a kiddie cone, sir. But, we sure as hell paid for double that... THREE STRIKES. YOU'RE OUT! Their employees definitely do not put the customers first. Rather, they put their customers through an unsolicited master class on Baskin-Robbins' rules. Sorry, not interested!!! Learn how to say yes before saying no to LITERALLY EVERYTHING a customer asks you for. I get that you have rules that need to be followed, but we shouldn't leave feeling exhausted. Thank goodness we didn't order sprinkles because I'm sure they would have counted them out one by one for us. Way to go, boys!!! You turned our fun night out into a total back-and-forth charade!!! Stopped in today, wife got a two scoop cone, I ordered a banana split. Super small scoops. Once I got the whip cream off. There was barely any topping. I asked the girl that made it, and she replied to me that the topping doesn't stay on top and slide to the bottom. I'm 62 years old been going to Baskin Robbins all my life like I don't know this I know some topping goes off on the side, but when there is barely any on any of it all I have is a banana boat with three scoops and a banana. There's literally maybe a teaspoon of each three toppings, and she wouldn't do anything more about it. almost $11 with tax for a banana split. This is a perfectly fine Baskin Robbins in Newbury park. The two times I've come here they have not had any clown cones (my favorite) but my friend comes here more often and says he's seen them. Hopefully the fact that they don't stick around long means they're fresh? I will find out if they ever have them in stock when I visit. :) Since they didn't have clown cones I got a regular scoop of ice cream on a sugar cone. the cone was crisp and the ice cream was cold, sweet and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the store was clean. Can't ask for more! I'd return here. Note: this is a small shop and they have some classic/standard flavors that are NOT in the display cases. They are behind the counter and there is a menu board listing them. My friend thought they had no vanilla offerings at all but one of the staff pointed to the menu board where they had a couple vanilla options. I tried to give this establishment a few tries. You can never go wrong with BR ice cream. Employees that are here are hit or miss. Last night was the final straw for me. Read below for situation. BR closes at 10:00 on a Friday night, went to get my car wash and grab some ice cream. Walked in at 9:48/9:49 but they had things covering the ice cream. I asked if they were already closed and they said "no, you can still get ice cream". There were 3 employees there, 2 of which were not wearing gloves, the other having cash out on the counter. I waited for about 5 minutes with no help, literally just standing there. At 9:56, one of the employees told me that they were already closed and that in the future... I cut him off and had to tell him I asked if they were closed before I waited and that I've been waiting for one of them to help me. The other employee told me "well that was a few minutes ago and we're closed now", which I then tried to explain one of them could've helped me get the ice cream and not have to wait. They tried to back out of their previous statement and that I could order, but that they were already closed due to their computer system clock. I decided not to order anything, and go to another ice cream shop in TO. I feel that this establishment has incompetent employees as to what to do with regards to customer satisfaction. Every year my mom gets me a ice cream only cake from baskin Robbins fit the last 40+years. Yesterday she went to pick up my cake and her car wouldn't start. My mom is a 82 year older widowed women and she called the store and asked if any chance they could deliver the cake to her as she lives 5 minutes away. The manager, I believe her name was Samantha, said she'd be off work at 4pm and could deliver it than fir her. This made my Mother's day and i wanted to recognize the superb customer service she gave my mom. Thank you samantha! read more

Nothing compares to having fresh ice cream waffle cones and good service. This location is very small yes but makes up for it with the service. The people are great and make sure your experience is worth while. This location is across the street from my work and I always grab a cone a couple times a week. The flavors vary from "birthday cake" to strawberry and chocolate chip...my favorites. They have everything and are never running out of flavors. Always love this place. I would have given it 5 stars except for one thing. When making my cone, the guy broke the cone while putting the ice cream on it. He picked the broken pieces out of the ice cream with his bare fingers and proceeded to put it on a new cone and try to hand it to me. The Michael Drive store is a fine example which features a full variety of services, including custom ice cream cakes and party favors. This store has always appeared clean, organized and inviting. The staff are very helpful, courteous and work very hard to make sure every order is done right. The hand-packed pints and quarts have always been generous and excellent and the cakes are fantastic. Of the big three, Baskin-Robbins definitely gives you more value for your dollar. The flavor, texture and fixings can all be debated, but in the end, BR is the better deal. I went there with my boyfriend and his friend and we were just getting ice cream, that's it. Then one of the employees has a personal problem with my boyfriend and it's not even a big of a deal. Her and the other employees wrote a note and gave it to my boyfriends friend and had another Baskin robins address and said for us to go there next time for ice cream. And everytime he's in there the same employees, about 3 of them ignore to take his service. And they they have they are rude. The only person that took his service was a new employee guy. My boyfriend is NOT threatening to this girl who works there at all. He feels bad that she's hurt when she sees him but he doesn't understand because he's done nothing go her. VERY IMMATURE acting like that in a work place. A customer is a customer. No need to be rude, DO YOUR JOB!!!!! While Ben & Jerry's or Haagen Daz have a much richer, creamier texture and flavor, they are also loaded with a lot more fat content. Yet, 31 Flavors (as I call them) serves a reliable, competetive, (little) less fat ice cream. My brain allows me to justify THIS ice cream. My favorite all-time flavors are Gold Medal Ribbon and Mint Chocolate Chip. There's also a special flavor that I haven't seen in years, I think it's called "Here Comes the Fudge".......not sure about that title, but I really love that. Wish they'd bring it back. read more
