Went in, they weren't accepting card which is fine. We had cash. I was trying to sample flavors and when I asked to try the thin mint flavor the worker completely ignored me and decides to ask my boyfriend what he wanted. I wasn't done sampling and the fact that I got completely ignored when I knew she heard me put me in the worst mood ever. I love baskin robbins. As a kid I remember my mom taking me for ice cream at their Encinitas location. It is decades later but I still enjoy visiting baskins for a frozen treat. I typically frequent the San Marcos location. The employees are usually friendly and pleasant to deal with. I have never had an issue using a credit card under $5 bucks. I leave happy and full after two scoops. Sign up for their email list and you will receive a buy one get one free coupon near the end of the month. I ordered a mud pie for my wife's birthday about a week ago. It was supposed to be ready Sunday at noon for the party. I went to pick it up at 4, and there were 20 people in line (no exaggeration - there was 1 person working.) I was told the pie was not made for some reason, come back tomorrow. So I went in Monday at 6 pm and still no pie. The one guy working told me I was supposed to pick it up at noon, so .... (What the hell does that mean?) I then told him it was supposed to be ready yesterday and he said sorry, I don't know anything about that. So here we are ... I'm out $25 and no mud pie for my wife. I tried to resolve this issue in store, but it was not resolved to my satisfaction so I am warning others. Do not order a cake from this location. I stopped in last week to look at cakes and I was told to order one online. So I did so this past weekend, and asked for the cake to be ready the afternoon of Monday the 13th. I received my email receipt. I arrived an hour late on Monday to pick up the cake, thinking I gave them ample time. The guy managing the store said their online system was not working and they did not receive an order. I showed him my accurate receipt and asked him what I should do about the birthday party at my house. He suggested taking home a small cookie pie, not free however, and said he would have a 1/3 sheet cake ready for me on the 14th. Without any other option I agreed and received a receipt for the 14th. My husband arrived on the 14th to pick up the sheet cake, and the cake designer said he was told it was for the 15th and had not made it. My husband showed him our receipt, and had to sit there and wait while the guy made the cake. The guy made cake that was half the size that we should have received, and we were forced to take it or ask for money back and not have a cake.. I am absolutely furious. I planned on ordering two other cakes from them this month, but now I will be driving an hour out of my way to go to a different store. These pictures should show how small the cake was. read more

If i could give ZERO stars to this specific location, I would. We just went in today, like 5 mins ago to get some ice cream after a nice family outing on the lake. My fiancee had his heart set on a classic banana split. As he asked for a banana split, we get told they are out of bananas, the main ingredient for the spilt. This is the third time we have encountered this issue here; we immediately told the girl behind the counter, "Never mind. Thanks. We're going to the other place." She asked what other place and we responded Cold Stone, because they have bananas. She then proceeded to throw unnecessary comments at us as we walked out of the excruciatingly EMPTY store, callings us traitors. Well that is a sure way for customers not to come back. Sorry to say we were very disappointed in our visit. Went in to get ice cream, and they were out of large Combs, bananas, and cookies. Came he with my son to get some ice cream. Blond hair kid behind the counter didn't even acknowledge us while he continued to wash blender containers.. after several minutes he snapped "what can I get you." I asked him if we purchase three singles could we could get the waffle cone upgrade per the sign which read "buy two scoops get a waffle cone" or something like that. He said 'I guess". We choose a flavor and he put a it in a cup. I told him I'd like that in a cone. He proceeds to grunt then takes the ice cream and cup and in spectacular motion, does a slam dunk I to the trash bin. I have no idea what caused him to act like this. I told him with that display of attitude, I won't be purchasing anything here, and that I would be reporting this to management. Anyone who acts like this i feel should immediately be terminated. Then he tried to say "man I am the only one here, I have a lot to do". There were no other customers present except two patrons which were finishing up their food. I don't like writing reviews like this, but management need a to know they have the wrong guy working here and solo... mother's day or not there is no excuse for this type of behavior or attitude. Walked in with my two kids ordered two scoops for my son on a cone and two scoops for my daughter in a cup. I ordered a banana split for myself. My son received his cone with two scoops and my daughter her cup with two scoops. He was making my banana split when my daughter asks where's a spoon to eat her ice cream? So I asked for a spoon the answer...we don't have any. So I asked how are we suppose to eat our ice cream without a spoon? He responded I don't know. Listen I understand there are kids working at an establishment like this and I don't blame the attendant but but if you run out of spoons they should tell the clients with a sign or at least verbally before they order. This store makes the best birthday ice cream cakes in San Diego period. You can pick out your cake and customize like I did with the cookie and cream cake and substitute chocolate chip ice cream for cookies and cream ice cream and go with chocolate cake over vanilla cake and go with chocolate pieces over Oreo cookies......hey that's what I wanted, my birthday:) And I asked for a little less frosting. We attended a birthday party wherein our friend ordered an ice cream cake from this branch for her son. She said she ordered it on a Wednesday and paid for it the following day. Both times, she asked for an order copy for pick up. Both times she was told, just say the name on the order. When it was time for pick up (on Friday, day of the party), it took more than an hour for the cake to arrive. My friend's husband went to pick it up and was told that it wasn't paid for. He had to go home to get the receipt. Apparently even with the receipt, the cashier still wouldn't believe that the cake was paid for! Wow! But the great customer service (I am being ironic here, of course) doesn't end there, at one point, he was told by the cashier to leave the store because he, the cashier, is refusing service! He was refusing service for a service that was already paid for?! Yikes! What in the world is this egotistical cashier thinking of? And what kind of manager runs this place? How can a paying customer be treated so shabbily? It is so laughable the way the cashier acted. It is so obvious that he thinks he can lord over people because he operates a cash register! Guy, move up from scooping ice cream-- maybe people will take you seriously. I hope other people at that party, who are in the know, also does a review and not patronize this branch. I am told the owner also has another one in Carlsbad. If the policy is the same in both stores? I recommend: Stay Away! The ice cream was good. The problem was the portions were tiny. When you pay around $6 for a sundae, you expect the cup to be full of ice cream and not air. I love that you can try as many flavors as you want. The flavors are so yummy and creamy. I love wild and reckless as a tangy flavor and baseball nut as a creamy flavor. The banana royale with caramel is such a delicious sundae! My friend got the ice cream sandwich and said it was better than Cream since the cookie was warm, soft and chewy. I love Baskin Robins!
