This is a new Baskin Robbins that opened in Vista about 2 months ago and I finally got in to try it out. The grand opening is coming up on February 4th and they are having a special $1.31 for a scoop. The 2 people that were working were very nice and helpful. They greet you when you get in the door and offer samples of new flavors, and whatever you want to try. I got 2 scoops in a cup plus a sugar cone. My 1st scoop was the PB& chocolate, not the Reese's but the original BR kind.For my 2nd scoop I went with super truffle fudge which was very good. I got it after trying a recommended sample from the server. The sugar cone was ok, but normally it is much better than this one was. This location is right off the 78 on Melrose so it is easy to get to. The store is large, clean, and has some seating. read more

I came in on a Saturday morning and wanted a 1/2 roll Oreo birthday cake. They said they did not have any, but I could order it and pick it up in 24 hrs. The birthday was Sunday so that was fine. I ordered an Oreo cake. My mother picked it up the following day like they told us to and that night we cut into it. It was chocolate chip. Which I don't like at all. I called at 8:30pm that Sunday, and the male employee confirmed I ordered an Oreo cake. He said he would call the boss and call me back. He returned my call a few minutes later and said the boss told him he would not refund me and would not make me another cake unless I bought it with like $2 off. He was not allowed to tell me when the "boss" worked so I could voice my concern over being sold the wrong product. read more

Got a milkshake, tasted like STRAIGHT milk. They remade it for me, tasted EXACTLY the same!!! Mind you, I know what the shake is supposed to taste like because I ordered it from a different BR's a week prior. Anyways, I went back in and requested a refund cause at this point... it's not going to get any better from there. Employer called the manager, was on the phone with manager for 6 plus minutes only to tell me that the manager is going to call back to assist with the refund. Whole time, I had a double scoop I paid for prior, that's melting while I wait for something that shouldn't take 10 plus minutes to do. Or so I thought. I ended up telling them to forget it and walking out because I'm not going to wait forever for a $7 refund. I'm not understanding why the manager had to call back and couldn't just help at that moment? But, hey, I don't work there. The sign inside the store advertises a scoop of ice cream for $1.70 on the 31st of the month. My wife and I were charged over $3.00 per scoop on May 31st, 2020. When we asked the server why we were being this amount, he stated that they were not honoring the advertised price due to Covid 19. Charging more than the posted price is illegal. San Diego County Department of Weights and Measures issues citations to violators. Penalties can include substantial fines and the store could be required to post the violation for a lengthy period on the store's entrance. To report them, contact San Diego County Weights and Measures. Meanwhile, the store in Oceanside has no problem selling ice cream at the price posted. read more

Outstanding new location! Love coming here on the 31st of the month! Baskin is great for a quick grab of some delicious ice cream. Everytime that I have been here I have received great service, late at night there is a young man who really goes above and beyond, he may be the supervisor but I will get his name next time because he deserves a shout out. If you're thinking about stopping for some ice cream give this location a try. Outstanding cakes! They are so professional at taking your cake order with attention to detail. With 24 hours notice the San Marcos location did not make my son's birthday cake! Worst service for a Baskin Robbins Just left there after waiting 10 min for a scoop. 1 person in line in front of me handled by one employee. Store manager and two other employees there who all see me waiting as they passed. None acknowledged I was waiting, let alone helped. One eventually after passing me and helping the guy after me with his cake because he walked up to the register, helps me out. No name tags and one of them was wearing a torn, dirty uniform. First time in and we've all been awaiting their Grand Opening. It's been years since we've had BR in Vista. It's about time. This particular store is clean, bright & open. The staff are friendly & helpful. The flavors seem to be the usual you find at the local BR's. They've added ice cream sandwiches from cookies they make & several specialty sundaes. I highly recommend this store and I definitely plan to return. On a side note, another customer based their review on the fact they were not allowed in w/their dog, a companion dog. This sort of misuse of this site is a shame. We review on the quality, cleanliness, tastes, flavors, friendliness...not whether or not someone is willing to disregard State Law to allow their dogs. A ridiculous & ignorant use of this forum. No dogs, outside of seeing eye dogs, are allowed inside food establishments, for good reason! read more

I have never been so disappointed with this store until this week. On Wednesday I earned a free cone because of frequent visits. I ordered 2 double scoops and was told that I only get a free Single. Ok so I assumed I'd pay one full double and then a double minus the amount for a single. Oh no...,. I was charged one double and two singles. Then I received one single scoop for free but today was too much! I had been sent a coupon buy one get one of equal or lesser for free because my birthday is tomorrow. First I'm told that's only for a single. Nowhere on the entire email does it say only for a single I apparently won that argument but she was not happy. Ok then I asked for two regular sugar cones to be put in the bag. I got charged 15 cents for each cone. Are you kidding me? It's not the money but I guess if you don't get it on the cone they charge you extra! Never happened before and she really argued her point. Not sure I'll ever go back. So crazy. I went in expecting that deal, only to find that I was being overcharged. Why would you falsely advertise a deal you're not offering? The manager seems to only care about money.. I could buy an entire tub of ice cream for the same price of their single scoop. Absolute rip off. Not to mention, the workers were rolling their eyes and didn't seem to want to help at all. Was asked to wear a mask in the store. We put them on. The heavyset girl working at the counter was rude and tried to help the customers after us. They pointed out we were next. She then scooped the wrong flavor our son asked for. He politely said he asked for something else. She threw the cone in the container. Scooped the correct one without wearing a glove. I asked why she didn't wear one to scoop and said they were not required. She was very rude most likely because she had to ask us to put the masks on which we did , even though the cdc says if you are vaccinated you do not need to. I grew up on Baskin Robbins ice cream. They are getting harder and harder to find, but they are always worth going out of my way for.

After visiting this store recently, my husband and I were very disappointed. The female clerk was very welcoming and greeted us when we walked in. Before ordering, I told her that I had coupons that I wanted to use, but needed clarification. The first coupon said I wanted to use was a discount off a hand-packed quart. While she was filling this order, I asked her about using a second coupon that said, "buy one cone and get a second cone for .99." I asked her if I needed to actually order two separate scoops on a cone or in a bowl in order to use the coupon or could I get the two scoops on one cone or in one bowl? She said that I could do the latter (2 scoops on one cone). As we walked over to the register to pay, she handed me two cones with one scoop each. Puzzled, I asked her why they weren't on getting be cone? She curtly responded, "well, that's the way you have to order to use the coupon." Confused, I asked her why she told me earlier that I could get 2/1? She really couldn't give me an answer, so she proceeded to ring our order up. I provided my phone with the coupons and after swiping the bar code, she told us they weren't working. I asked her to try the second coupon for the quart discount and after swiping, she told us that the quart coupon didn't work either. She didn't attempt to manually enter the numbers, just abruptly said, "well, I don't know what to tell you, but they don't work." Even more frustrated, my husband paid the bill and we left. Once we got home, when we opened the quart, the clerk had not filled it up (it was almost three inches from the top. I then rechecked the coupons on my APP, but the two we presented to the clerk were gone (stating they had been used). I'm really not sure what happened, but I wanted to get an answer. Later that evening, I wrote to Baskin-Robbins 31-Flavors headquarters to let them know about our experience. Their offices immediately responded and informed me that since most of their stores are franchises, they forwarded the information to the local store owner. It's been almost two weeks without follow-up. It's been almost two weeks without a response, so, I guess the owner(s) don't value customer input. We won't be going back.
