My first time at a Hagen-Dazs location. Not a giant shop, but they have all the classic flavors and more. Service is quick and the line moves fast. It is very efficient inside, no where to sit, you get in and get out. Samples are provided on request which is nice. I selected two classic flavors, one of which I had not tried from this brand, vanilla and cookies & cream. Not the biggest scoops so the value is modest. The flavors were as expected, I always enjoy the density of this brand ice cream. read more

Under new management and all positive reviews are for old management! This used to be the only ice cream shop my daughter could get ice cream from as she has food allergies and she could have the gelato. Under old management they would open a new container if other containers had been contaminated with dairy. Now under new management they refused to open any new container and so we could not get ice cream. We told them that old management did this and they said this is new management and showed no sympathy or solution to my daughter's tears. This was absolutely unacceptable customer service and new management is horrible and should not be supported. read more

After a grueling day of shopping at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets it was time for a treat. I made my way to ice cream heaven. The young woman behind the counter had a 1000 watt smile and a charming personality. I got scoops in a cup. Coffee and also cookie dough. Both had a rich and full flavor. Haggen Dazs knows how to do coffee ice cream right. I also ate some of my wife's strawberry ice cream which was even better than what I was eating. I haven't seen a store in the longest time and it reminds me of my daughter when she was a little girl when I would always treat her to her favorite mint chip parfait when on vacation. I don't like rude customer service. Especially when they don't speak the language. To have repeat my order multiple times, even after pointing to a large poster of the item I want usually would have been enough for me to get up and leave - however, I was craving ice cream and chocolate. The regular size will cost you $4.50 and that's without a waffle cone, which is another .90 cents. It's definitely not a cheap ice cream spot but it is delicious and worth stopping by for special treat. read more

It should be automatic that this place gets a 5. There is absolutely no way to score this place low, unless you hate ice cream, in which case never talk to me again. The flavors are delicious the ice cream is soft and creamy without being too soft. The worst is when you get ice cream and it's already melting before they even hand it to you! Not the case here! My go-to here is the Oreo milkshake! They make it creamy and it's still thick, but not too thick where you can't sip it through a straw! Personally, I love ice cream! I have tried a lot of different brands of ice cream and Haagen-Dazs is one of my favorite brands of ice cream because of their higher quality. This store is part of the Carlsbad outlet and right next to Starbucks. Upon entry, the worker asked me if I would like any samples. The workers were pretty friendly. However, I did notice that the floor was not super clean. In addition, I have observed piles of bananas in the back of the counter. Those bananas were ripe and some of them turned black. I am unsure whether ripe bananas give a better taste to the ice cream milkshake since they are sweeter than unripe bananas. I got the low-fat vanilla shake and it tasted pretty decently. I came yesterday to purchase some ice cream around 1:00 pm something. There was a young girl very nice with great customer service very helpful. After my purchase I received a coupon " scratcher" I was excited because knowing I was going to be around the outlet for a while with my family. A came back again around 6 or 7, the moment I came inside there was two young ladies just standing there talking. I asked if they were open, they both looked annoyed and not wanting to be at work. I continue to order I asked one of the girls if I could use the scratcher, with no expression she told me "yea" I told her if she could repeat the toppings for my niece. She looked at me with this face, like "really". I tried not to get mad, so I told her if I could purchase the small but with the cones with different flavors, I continue to talk and out of nowhere she interrupted me with a very rude tone not letting me finish ( which I was getting there) "what cone do you want". When I was done ordering I was at the register the other girl came out of nowhere and told me "can you move so I could charge the little girl". I was in shocked because knowing that I was first and I was ready to head out. As for that girl I don't know if she's in charge, a little advice being loud is not having great customer service. Really disappointed with the service at this location. Came in with my mother and sister to get a nice refreshment. While ordering the manager brought in a group of 10 or more new staffers into the small store. While trying to continue ordering they were engulfing the counters leaning everywhere to fill out paperwork. They were also touching their faces and pulling at their masks. My mother who has COPD decided to step out as she was uncomfortable. When I expressed my own discomfort as I has asthma I was given attitude by the manager and told that they all had masks on and dismissed as overreacting. As a customer no one should be insulted or made to feel insecure when addressing a discomfort during a pandemic. Then once outside I heard her turn to her staff member and tell her that "people are too sensitive during all of this." I will not be recommending this location at all. So disappointed. read more
