I have had amazing cake shops in Los Angeles (sweet lady Jane, Porto's, even the tom cruise cake) but this place makes the most amazing, consistently delicious cakes. My top favorites: 1. Chocolate with chocolate mousse (it's insanely perfect and great for freezing small pieces and bringing it out to nibble. Also equally love chocolate with fresh strawberries but just doesn't last as long in the fridge. 2. Black Forest cake - decadent chocolate with fresh raspberries that cut the chocolate decadence with the perfect balance 3. Pineapple and coconut- anyone who loves this combo will LOVE this cake. My husband's favorite. 4. Red velvet - not overly sweet exactly how I love it. The other favors I've tried that were decent were carrot cake, pistachio raspberry, almond raspberry. Pistachio flavor is super subtle. Carrot cake was not as moist as other carrot cakes I've had and almond raspberry couldn't taste much almond. Service is great and always good communication. We thought we'd try Little Cakes Kitchen, so we ordered the half-dozen box of assorted cupcakes. They were delivered through DoorDash. We knew we were not able to pick our flavors by ordering this way, but figured Little Cakes would send a representative sample, which I assume they did. I'm not sure which flavors were in our box because they weren't labeled. I wanted to know what we were eating, but I had to dig through many past reviews to identify most of them. The 6 flavors received in the 1/2-dozen box were: * Vanilla * Chocolate * Almond Champagne * German Chocolate * Something Marshmallow-Topped * Something Chocolate--Topped with Thin Vanilla Icing and Vanilla Buttercream All the cupcakes were of average size and were decorated nicely enough. Albeit the cake part on all the cakes were a bit dry. It was difficult to discern a specific flavor on a few, so I've come to the conclusion that garnishing must be their gift. Most of the 'vanilla' flavors, were indistinguishable in flavor from one another, except for the Almond Champagne, which had a cloying almond paste filling, and too much filling to cake ratio. Of particular concern was that the frosting on all seemed to be off in ratios of butter to shortening. I suspect there was an over abundance of shortening in all the cupcakes, which to me, is not palatable, nor is it delicious or anything resembling what a good cupcake should be. They miss the mark in my opinion. Due to the high prices and the fact that the frosting on all the cupcakes was cloying and poorly prepared with what I suspect was too much shortening, and not enough icing sugar, I would likely not buy cupcakes from Little Cakes Kitchen again.

He truly wanted it to taste amazing! So when we found Connor and his list of craft flavors, our interest was immediately piqued. We met up with Connor at a coffee shop to sample his cakes, and as soon as we did there was no question we wanted to work with him! Every flavor we tried was delicious, but we ended up going with coconut mango passion fruit, Amaretto blackberry, and Earl gray cardamom. Connor actually updated some of his flavors prior to our wedding and very kindly sent us a sample box of the flavors that had changed alongside the original flavor, so we could compare and contrast. We ended up switching the earl grey cardamom to his newly developed may grey! It's so cool how he's constantly continuing to evolve and hone his flavors. Connor is incredibly kind and easy to work with, as well as very responsive. We went back and forth on the exact details of our cake design several times, and he provided us with numerous sketches for our approval. Connor is also very aware of and openly discusses the potential issues with cakes ie melting/ transport issues so that you can make an informed decision. He offered to make our cake with a white chocolate ganache coating as opposed to vanilla buttercream as that would be more stable and less likely to melt, and also provided a sample of this with his new cake flavors. We chose to go with the buttercream, but really appreciated him discussing this with us and presenting us with the option. We had zero issues with the integrity of the cake, it looked amazing when it arrived and continued to look amazing the entire night. We highly recommend working with Connor! His cakes are visual masterpieces, and multiple people told us our cake was the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted
