We were in Waipahu so after a quick dinner we decided to take advantage of the 31st of the month 31% off deal at the B-n-R in the area. Service was great - hubby and I were served by two different young men and each was very friendly and courteous. The odd thing was we both ordered a double scoop in a cup and got different sized cups. He also asked for a cover but didn't get one. Maybe they were out? But no matter. U tried the chocolate / pistachio - take off on the Dubai like chocolate that is popular now. Taste was fine, but pistachios were not crunchy. So not something I'll order again but at least I tried it. Got my usual go to of sugar free caramel turtle something (oops forget the name!) and that was great. Hubby got Rocky road and gold medal ribbon and he was happy. We both were, actually. This loc seems to give larger sized scoops than our usual place so kudos for that. This isn't our usual ice cream stop, but we decided to try it out as we were visiting the outlets. The inside is clean and bright. I especially liked bench-style seating as my toddler can't sit still on chairs. The ice cream is the standard Baskin-Robbins selection. We always keep it simple and take small keiki size. The selection here is smaller than the location we usually go to, but still totally fine. My toddler spotted his beloved blue Cookie Monster ice cream and was happy. Came here with some friends after having lunch at a Restaurant Kunio, which was a few doors away. I got their Butter Pecan on a cake cone, since it was a bit wider to help carry the big scoop I got. If you get it on a sugar cone, be careful to balance it in between your licks. We were here in a Monday around 2pm, & the service here was great! The young girl was very patient & nice. I will also say that we were eating our ice cream in the shop, talking story, and I noticed that the young girl was working hard when no other customers were in; cleaning up the place. If you're trying to buy their pre packed ice cream, forget about it. Doing a big order for the family at home and expecting it to be not melted? forget about it. Want to get that promo 31% off scoops on the 31st of the month? Dont think about just popping in the store and getting it hassle free. & Don't forget your phone and to have downloaded the BR Rewards app before the 31st, bc you need that coupon downloaded onto your phone And then order through the app. And guess what- if you were a BR member but haven't used the app for a while, you have to register again bc they have a new system that doesn't remember your account- even if you still get the same BR emails. And yes- I read the email, there was no specifications besides not being offered on delivery. Pricing and participation varies, which means either the store honors it or doesn't. But apparently it's the company that wants ppl to use the app and yet can't afford to put it on their marketing emails. Went there twice, got melting ice cream twice, had to wait until the employees bothered to look away from each other both times, so naturally I use the customer support line to follow up and ask for the gratuity charges from the 1st visit to be refunded back to me. Why? Bc I let the near lecture from an employee go on the 1st visit. The 2nd time ticked me off bc they don't help more than 1 customer (solo or in a group) at a time. So I stood with 4 quarts waiting as the 2nd person in line. The guy in front of me had his lil family of 4, ordered and stood staring at the cashier. Cashier didn't even notice there's more than 1 customer in a store-even tho it's small and only me and that group in front of me. The other 2 employees working on their order and I literally had to speak up for assistance. He even saw how the order was taking longer than it should've and that I was standing with ice cream quarts in my arms, getting cold and frustrated. I reach out to BR Care/CS and they reach out to the mgr and they say they can't do it since there's no way in the BR POS system, so they offered me ice cream scoops instead. For what, so it can be melted and I'd have to deal with their employees and their lackadaisical attitudes? BR CS also offered their BR $10 gift card and I declined that too. There's better options nearby so I will be choosing to make sure I never purchase from Baskin Robbin's again. Yes- I am livid at this company for multiple reasons. Fool me once, shame on me. This 31+ flavors of cold goodness has been around while my kids were growing up and outlived many other shops like TCBY. Over the years I loved Jamoca Almond fudge. We've enjoyed decorated ice cream cakes too. Every now and then I'd visit here bypassing Jamba & Starbucks next door to each other at the Town center of Mililani, each outstanding in their own way. Recently I've discovered Mangonada. It tastes like childhood memories of the Haden mango tree in my parents' yard and the Pirie I adored which were prized and hard to get. This concoction has a reddish flavoring akin to li hing powder to my tastebuds but by itself...powerful and passable to me. I was particularly thirsty and asked hubs to get me one with just plain mango while I stayed in the car with our fur bebe. He came out of this Waikele branch and said they can make a mango and ice smoothie or a mango banana and ice cream version. I chose the pure mango with ice, in the largest size. I'm a fan of mango lassi but this mango with ice smoothie is the MOST refreshing and hits the spot. Better than chocolate cake, moscato, or mocha Frappuccino!!! With this being surrounded by restaurants, I mean, it makes sense to come here afterwards for some dessert right?! Just as we did, after eating at Genkis a few stores down. Customer service is ok, we were greeted upon entering also asked if we were ready as soon as we got to the front. My son ordered the turtle sea creature icecream cup, with cotton candy icecream and a side of cherries (extra charge) we were pretty disappointed because it says it comes with a FREE turtle crown and we didn't get any. My son realized he didn't get his crown after we left and its pretty sad that the workers didn't stop to think that they should've gave him one without us having to ask for it. I got the Trick Oreo Treat in a dipped sugar cone, they were nice enough to offer me a cup to put it in. Sad to say that when I tried to lift my cone up from the cup my cone broke I ended up having to dip my cone to scoop my icecream out with. It's fine, my fault. I should've not say yes to a cup. LOL. This place is great! I went to the Pearl city location multiple times and each experience wasn't that good. The people at this location are very nice and understanding. I came using the T-Mobile promo card and I thought I could redeem it for a gift card. I wasn't able to redeem it for a physical gift card, so I used it on a double scoop ice cream cone. Now, they also do custom ice cream sandwiches where you can pick your cookies (from 5 varieties) and ice cream which is totally cool!!
