A very happy experience after a mediocre lunch. I was convinced I needed a scoop of Dave's Ice Cream since it was right next door to our lunch place. I'm glad I went in because it reinforced my faith in this new generation of young workers. Entering this shop we were warmly greeted by two young workers even though they were both helping other customers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop was sparkling clean, fresh and not a smug of anything on the floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As we got our selections and sat at a small table for two we then were the only two customers in the shop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The young man slipped outside with a bottle of window cleaner and the young lady grabbed a cloth and quickly wiped down the counter that was vacated by a family that had just left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Impressed that there was no use of personal phones and these two associates were doing whatever they could to keep the place clean. Young as they were they were truly professional. Kudos! So how was the Ice Cream.....fantastic and I will be back.

I've been going to Dave's ice cream since I was a child and my favorite ice cream, pink cotton candy, is still my absolutely favorite! I wish there were a bit more chocolate chips nowadays, but it's still delicious!

My favorite ice cream place on the island of Oahu, located in the heart of Pearl City. They get so many good local island-flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It gives a family-home feel type vibe when you are at this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best place to take your family out for dessert after dinner or ice-cold treat after the beach or on a hot day for some cool down time. They also have soda floats, sundaes, sherbet flavors and shave ice. Love the oldies got going on in the background that sets that good-home-like vibe. I would take Dave's ice cream over Baskin-Robbins or Coldstones any day.

We love Dave's in Aiea. We love that it's in our neighborhood and that it's busy. Hubby and I enjoy their Hawaiian Mud Pie. They offer a bunch of flavors that make it feel like you're having a taste of Hawaii and the various influences of the place - ube, mango, green tea. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small shop in Aiea with some seating. We don't mind when the place is full of people. We just eat our ice cream on the drive back home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a clean, bright little place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We love our neighborhood ice cream shop shop. We get our favorite Hawaiian Mud Pie (coffee, brownie flavor) ice cream from Dave's and it hits the spot all the time. We have been coming to this location for sometime now and appreciate that we see familiar faces behind the counter. They always have enough people to deal with the surge of customers and the place is well kept. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small shop with enough seats for 18 people. It's a cute place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The parking is shared with the Korean BBQ place next door. But if it gets full, customers can park in the adjoining parking lot near the Pizza Hut.

after a beach day, da mini requested ice cream. stopped by daves. we got a good variety of da most ono flavors. sampled 2 and chose the blueberry one. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Shop is clean and bright, staff friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] da mini wanted strawberry cheesecake. was so good the quality and flavor. sat inside and gobbled em up. go check em out

Green Tea and kona coffee. Great combination

Love the ice cream over there. My favorite combo is pink cotton candy and Kona coffee. I know it's a weird combo but hella good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean and there's chairs for you to seat down with friends and family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, there's lots of parking in front or back. The workers there are very nice and they have awesome great customer services. They always great you Hello and treat you like family.

Updated: went to Dave's again few months later. Found out Ash is not working there anymore. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Customer service still cordial and clean environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wasn't able to consolidate my two stamp cards. I was told one of them was no longer being used and the stamps not valid anymore . Shucks...

    Ube Ice cream break!

While on vacation here in March 2024. Our tour guide brought us here and highly recommend their locally made ice cream. I got the ube single scoop on waffle cone. My husband got the cookie dough single scoop on a classic cone. It was very delicious and I can tell it was homemade. Limited seating inside are available. The workers were very nice. Sample testing is available. We would definitely return on our next vacation

Cookies & Cream and Macadamia Nut
    Sach T.

Found a coupon in the paper BOGO (Buy One Get One) free for a scoop of ice cream in a cup. Knowing that their ice cream is pricey, took advantage of this special. My husband ordered a scoop of Cookies & Cream and I ordered my favorite from here which is the Macadamia Nut. My husband enjoyed his Cookies & Cream but I thought mine tasted different from before...the mac nuts were small pieces and not that many where there used to be half pieces. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to ice cream but thought it was okay. If I paid the regular price of $5.39 a scoop for this, I would've been disappointed.

    Guava sorbet
    Vanessa T.

Amazing guava sorbet! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff and fun environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had lots of unique to Hawaii flavors!

    Tae G.

Pretty good, creamy ice cream. It's thick and a bit rich compared to what I've eaten at home in California. The workers were helpful with letting me try different flavors before I deflected on caramel macadamia and butter pecan. It's a bit pricey for the small scoops, but a treat, nonetheless.

    Ube ice cream keiki
    Rebecca C.

Delicious ube ice cream! Ice cream was creamy, not too sweet, and good ube flavor. The keiki scoop was pretty generous, and packed into the cone. The ice cream scoopers were very nice and let us sample a flavor. Sugar cone and cake cone were both fresh. Excited to come back and try some more flavors!

Best eaten when you have a bit of flan + the shave ice to have the perfect balance of sweetness. If you eat the top part of the shave ice alone, you won't get the full sweetness. The flan, mochi, n' shave ice give all the textures. Definitely a great treat on a hot day!

Loved the fact that they use Dave's ice cream (and not the cheap stuff that's probably not even ice cream). The ice is powdery and snow soft and melts in your mouth! The ratio of syrup to ice is just right - it was not overly sweet like some other places. Prices are also SUPER reasonable compared to other tourist places. They also sell aloha wear and accessories, making this place a one stop shop for all your local needs. First, the staff is always so kind, accommodating, and patient. If you're ever on the fence, they're always so willing to help guide you in the right direction to give you the best poke experience. Although they've only got a few flavors of Poke, it's perfectly enough! They give you a hefty amount of rice and poke with every bowl; I always have some left over every time and their poke flavors are always SO amazing, regardless of what combination you choose (although, I would recommend their Gingah and Spicy Shoyu together). Although I love their bowls, I would absolutely recommend getting their pound of poke deal. You can divvy up the weight of poke any way you want, so usually my husband and I get a quarter of a different flavor poke and just make our rice at home--the only downside to doing this is that you don't get the fun toppings (furikake and crunchy mochi). Also, just a disclaimer, their space is extremely small with limited bar-type seating, so plan to take your bowl/food to go if you want to be comfortable. The only reason why I'm docking 1 star is because unfortunately, some of their toppings are a little too expensive to add on for the amount that you get. Other than that, Ryder's will not disappoint--I promise! I always recommend this Poke Shop to all of our visitors and I'm not stopping now--try Ryder's out if you're in the area!
