Still the absolutely best shave ice on the island! Soft, fluffy, taro perfectly cooked and chewy rice mochi. The portions are bigger than last time and the prices are all clearly marked now. Now to get more fixes in before we head home!
One of our favorite OG spots! I love the variety of options and yummy toppings you can add on. The service is always good, workers are nice and order usually comes out quick.
The shave ice in my picture was $17. Was it good? Yes absolutely, but I don't think it's worth $17 for shave ice. The custard is amazing... they homemake it along with the mochi... that's definitely the stand out, but the shave ice itself isn't anything special. If you order ala carte (not their set shave ices) the base shave ice is still $7, which is way too much in my opinion for the quality. Ice is not fine and syrups were nothing special. The other downside to this place is that there's no seating except for under the parking garage, which you have to walk a decent ways to. For the price, I would want tables / benches and maybe some shade.

Ice garden has been a family favorite ever since I was little. There are shave ice options for everyone, as the menu has a variety of toppings and flavors. Ice garden is my favorite shave ice place ever! The shave ice is always so soft and sweet. The balance of the syrup and ice is always on point. I especially love ordering the #7 with chocolate syrup. The #7 is pudding (flan), milk shave ice with mochi balls. The mochi is so soft and smooth, yet chewy. The custard is super delicious and greatly enhances the shave ice. The custard is definitely my favorite! The chocolate syrup is a nice addition to the milk shave ice too, as it's not too overpowering. Although the service is a bit serious sometimes, I would not describe it as bad. Instead I'd just describe it as neutral and straightforward. Recently I was struggling to figure out how I'd carry 3 shave ice bowls for my friends and I back up the stairs to the Aiea Bowl parking lot without help, and the worker at the window offered me a box to put it in! So even though I feel judged sometimes, I'd say overall the service is still good. The new buzzer system is also helpful. The menu is nice and simple with the pictures in the window, and although it's just window service and you can't eat inside like you used to, I think that's completely fine, as it's nice to enjoy shave ice on a hot day. I highly recommend going to Ice Garden any time you're craving shave ice! Be sure to get da number 7 with chocolate .
First time here. Ordered the 14, 15 and a build your own consisting or melona and ?? With mochi balls and ube ice cream. Great tasting shave ice. Ice cream at the bottom. Lol $38+ for 3.
A classic! My childhood spot! Hits the right spot and you don't see flan as a topping option often. Cash only!!
I'd rank this spot as above average. I do think the syrup is sweeter than most other places. I had the coconut and guava with ube ice cream and pineapple ($3) which came out to $13. They only take cash and they close at 5pm (closed on Wednesdays). It's a small window to order and there's not an inside area with A/C.

The two of us shared it but I wished I had ordered my own because it was soooo good, especially with the custard pudding. Service was fast. They're cash only. There are some outdoor tables nearby where you can sit and eat. Parking was easy and free.
Had to visit this place because we were craving shave ice on a hot day. First of all bring CASH. Lucky I got cash on hand. They have so many options. I was able to share my shave ice with my son, we got the melona with lilikoi and mini mochi balls and custard with ice cream inside. It was yummy!!!! Definitely hit the spot. Yall need to come and check them out .
Located next to McDonald's, in a large shopping plaza. We had the Shaved ice with Half Cotton Candy & Blue Raspberry, with Mochi Balls. Parking can be crowded in these parking garage, but we got a spot on the first floor next to Starbucks. It's just an order window and there are seats in two separate common area in the plaza. They give you a key to the restroom which is located in a separate building. The only negative is the service. The guy was just through the motions and didn't want to answer our questions. Overall, awesome shaved ice from a local business.
Yummy lowkey shave ice spot! I like that they have a large variety of flavors and toppings to try! They have an oatmeal topping that is super interesting and unique to this spot. I quite liked the oatmeal, it was a nice texture and had a good sweetness to it and paired well with the milk shave ice. The pudding topping is also pretty good, but this is the most expensive topping. Still good to try though! This is a walk-up window but there are some outdoor tables nearby that you can sit at. Otherwise there isn't really a designated place to sit to eat. They're also cash only.
#7 with taro is my go to order when I'm craving shave ice. Ice Garden's shaved ice is always so soft, powdery, and perfectly sweet. This small shop located near the McDonald's Aiea is family owned. The father and son duo provides quick and efficient service every time!

Great custard! But otherwise just alright. Food - 3/5 Star of the show is the custard, which was great. However, some of the syrups tasted too medicinal. Maybe we're just used to the homemade/natural syrups that most places use now. We also got mochi which was decent. Service - 5/5 Friendly service! Ambiance - 4/5 Cash only. There is only a window to order from but the plaza has tables outside to sit at. read more
We stop by every-time we are in the area! Ice is fine and melts fast but syrup is a little on the sweeter side, which is why we prefer the Milk flavor with mochi balls, custard and Oatmeal. Yes - this is not your typical shave ice combo but is definitely worth a try if you go since I haven't seen the combo anywhere else! This is a walk up establishment however tables are outside to the right (in the breezeway to the mall) Come prepared with CASH ONLY! read more

Been to ice garden a few times and the pudding is one of the highlights. The ice is pretty fine and they have a lot of syrup and topping options! Service was pretty fast. There usually isn't much of a line. They are cash only tho! Unfortunately their prices just keep going up and while they have a bunch of other pictures with combos there isn't a price listed with the pictures so I didn't really know the cost until I ordered. For my boyfriend and mine 2 shave ice with toppings it was upward of $25 which caught me off guard for just shave ice... read more

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite a long line. My boyfriend and I made our own shave ice with the flavors guava, lilikoi and lychee and added mochi balls and the custard flan on top. We thought the shave ice was ok. The syrups weren't anything special, I think we had better flavor syrups at other shave ice spots. The mochi balls were average as well but the custard flan was really good! It was pretty pricey as well for one shave ice with toppings. We didn't think it was really worth the long wait too. At least the custard flan was yummy so glad we got to try it out! read more
I ordered the lychee and melons shaved ice with mochi and custard and it was so good. Everything was refreshing and not overly sweet. The custard was a surprisingly good pairing with the shaved ice. Prices are reasonable and service was quick. Just a heads up, it's CASH ONLY. It's a bit tricky to find. We parked in the grocery store lot on the lower level and took the escalator up. Look for the small order window. Definitely worth the hunt. read more

What a great find! We were at Keiki Kingdom with our grandkids and told them we would go get shave ice after. I did a quick search and the first spot was in the mall so we skipped it and came to Ice Garden. We got there and saw the line and knew it must be a hot spot. When we saw the first order come out everyone's eyes lit up. We searched the menu and picked out our choices. It was fantastic! I usually get a snowcap but they have milk ice here and it reminds me of the homemade snow ice cream I make back home. Delicious! Mine was topped with tapioca and custard. The boy taking my order asked if I wanted one or two custards. I said one but let me tell you I wish I would have said two!! So good. My grandson got strawberry shave ice with mochi balls and vanilla ice cream and a custard topper. He ate it all. The other two shared a cherry and blue raspberry combo. The bowls were nice sized. Every bit was eaten. We will definitely hit this spot again. read more
Where the ingredients from East meets West form a bond of consistently smooth, fine shave ice creations. Craved for a cool dessert considering humidity in the afternoon. Was it worth the wait of driving around one way for shaded parking 20 mins on a humid day? Yes. Was it worth my time spending every cent on delectable and edible creation? Absolutely! Was it worth leaving a tip for the hardworking and grateful staff? You bet! Was it worth my time and effort of standing in line? Heck yeah! Some chose to consume their preferred shave ice on rectangular and round tables outside within walking distance. While others indulged in the comfort of their vehicles. I loved how the consistency of fine and smooth shave ice with milk flavor took a long time to melt. #5 with double custard or taro, milk flavor, mochi balls, double custard tasted fabulous and refreshing! Not too sweet! Not too heavy with regard to milk flavor taste and tummy feeling great! Every single millimeter was covered with multiple flavors. I'm able to order a different creation with every future visit. Cash triumphed all other methods of payment. Some creations will run out quicker midway through the afternoon. I will not feel bored and find numerous choices fun with the plethora of flavors. read more
Stopped by today (yelp says they're closed on Wednesdays) but they were open today (Wednesday) from noon. Got there just before noon and there was only one other customer there. I haven't been here since it was owned by the two ladies years ago. We ordered two with added flan and the total came out to nearly shy of $25. Flan addition was around $3.50 each? Shave ice was fluffy and there was enough syrup to cover the ice once you mix and melt. However, I can't seem to justify paying $12 for shave ice? read more
Hmm, this joint is not the same as it used to be. I am not sure why, though. Perhaps it's because the elder lady is no longer there to make the items. You still order through a small window, pay cash, then wait for your order to be completed. I can no longer justify the price of admission here. read more

I hadn't been here in a while and was craving something sweet, so I decided to stop by. To my surprise, there were only a few people in line when I arrived. I ordered the #5 -- taro with mochi balls -- and added ice cream and double flan. It was light, not overly sweet, and super refreshing. Just a heads-up: the ice is very fine, so on a hot day like today, it melts quickly -- best to eat it fast! The only downside is the price. With the add-ons, it came out to just over $17, which felt a bit steep. Still, I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat. read more
This was my daughter in laws favorite place to get shaved ice. My grandson wanted to try so we hopped in the car one hot Saturday afternoon. I think 3 of them got the flan on top. Their ice is very fine here, syrup is good, flan is dreamy but the last time we got mochi it wasn't as soft as we used to get here. Overall very good, pricey but good. read more

Just so good. I think what makes it so amazing for me is the custard. Ooo man it's made perfectly. Only downside is maybe no seating area. It's just a take out window. And when you're standing outside and eating your shave ice, it melts quickly! read more

I had such a wonderful birthday weekend on Oahu. The Aiea Shopping Center was our sweet treat destination for a visit to the Ice Garden. I don't remember what everyone ordered but I know my pineapple one was delicious. Until my next island hopping adventure. XOXO, ChelsieFletcher read more
Ice Garden has been a family favorite for years! It used to be run by a couple of older ladies but I think some of the younger family now run it. They still occasionally have the best rice cake you can find outside of Chinatown but the focus is on shave ice and all the topping you want to pay to add on top. I'm a root beer with vanilla ice cream fan but I've been known to go to the lime/lemon side. The kids now like mochi balls in addition to the ice cream under the shave ice. The custard cups that are added on top are also awesome add on. We used to live up the hill on Aiea Heights Drive and would come here with our kids....25 years later we're one hill over and bringing our grandkids and great grandkids. Many things have changed in Aiea Shopping Center but this little treat shop is still thriving. Hours are limited. To 12-5 and there's plenty of parking. Almost always a line but it moves fast. Ice Garden is a local favourite that we will always make sure to visit whenever we're in Oahu. A literal hole in the wall at Aiea mall where you order and are served from a window. The #7 milk shaved ice with mochi, custard, and ube ice cream is seriously next-level and totally worth ordering. The shaved ice was incredibly fine, super soft, and fluffy, almost like fresh snow-- it melts perfectly in your mouth and absorbs the milk perfectly without getting crunchy or watery. Mochi pieces add a soft, chewy bite that makes each spoonful fun and satisfying and the custard brings a rich, creamy sweetness. The flavors were refreshing and perfectly balanced, but the hidden ube ice cream in the middle was the highlight. It was creamy, rich, and added the perfect sweet, nutty flavor that made the whole dessert feel extra special. As it melts into the shaved ice it creates this amazing combo that tastes like a tropical dessert dream. The portion is generous enough to share (though you might not want to ). Definitely a must-order if you love ube or want to try a classic Hawaii-style shave ice with a twist. read more

Absolutely the best shaved ice on the island! I got a lychee/pineapple with flan topping and taro/mochi shaved ice. My nephew got the milk shaved ice with double flan and mochi topping. It was so good! Next time I will have flan, mochi and condense milk toppings on mine. read more

My girlfriend wanted to grab shave ice after our hike and suggested Ice Garden. I can see why this spot has been around for years. The ice is nice and soft, the flavors are great, and the custard on top ties it all together. The custard has a caramel flavor that's really good and refreshing. You can't eat the shave ice inside the shop anymore like you could years ago, but there are seats available next to Koa Pancake House. The mochi balls are soft and chewy, definitely some of the better ones I've had, though we do wish they gave a little more of it. read more

*CASH ONLY* This is such a great place to get great shave ice!! It's a walk up window with a common seating area around the corner from Aiea Pancake House. The service is below average with the cashier providing little to no verbal communication but can be easily overlooked for the good shave ice. Regardless, the shave ice is always SO good! The line was super long the day before spring break was over but well worth it. It seems to be a small mom and pops kind of shop, I only could see two people working. One cashier and one making the shave ice. Although the line was really busy, they were so nice and their shave ice was delicious. Hopefully the next time we go the line isn't too bad read more
