Stopped in there today to purchase a rifle; however, after waiting for 30 minutes at the gun counter I decided to go elsewhere. There were four people ahead of me who were still waiting when I left. There were two employees behind the counter and one of them was working, while the other one was having a personal conversation. Extremely poor customer service! I finally made it to the store and found it laid out well. Easy to navigate and full of things i normally can't find (e.g. 365 mineral rocks which i use for my mineral sites). I was very impressed by the outdoor cooking section. The smokers, accessories, and pellets were great! I was very happy with my first visit and found myself spending $200+ i wasn't expecting to spend. Ha! read more

Loved it when it was CABELAS!!! Bass Pro stupid shit happened and as a former part time employee it was great when JIM was the GM. I am proud to have worked for this company at first but then restructure happened, things changed. I was only part time. You think I could get maybe 16 hours a week as I could only get 22 hours MAX a week? Nope!!!! 8 hour weeks. My "Boss" I absolutely could not stand!! Management is terrible terrible and did I say terrible? Tell me who can live off of 8 hour weeks? Nobody that I worked with did anything to me. But I feel like I need to tell people that the management effects how the employees are. At least some. Like me. Loved maintenance work (guys pushing that cart around with the chemicals), yeah that was me with the buzz cut. So I was making my living part time at that current crap hole. But then they hire a full time maintenance person knowing that my hours would go WAY down to hardly nothing at all. I was told by my "boss" NOT TO GET MY HOPES UP FOR MORE HOURS! Don't pray for more hours etc..... Fellow outfitters don't take this personally. Management what part of do not touch me at all do you not understand!?!?!??? Do not trap me in a fucking cube!!! Go ahead and put a Target on my forhead, my back, chest. You all think I'm stupid not knowing that you wanted me gone. I did you a favor by quitting. It's a zombie land in that store. These new people didn't experience the entire transformation of the environment/miserable employee (I don't dress people. Not an outfitter). 20 minutes into my shift 4 hour day and they send me home because they wouldn't give me 5 mins to recover from an absence seizure (Google it). I am not an angry former employee writing this. I've been gone for a while. The store itself is decent. Lots of products to choose from. I'm just not into the whole ammo or archery stuff. Extremely disappointed in how they treated my father in-law whom is also a veteran. Took time out of his day drove quite a distance to buy from Cabelas in Chesterfield MI and was turned away for no reason other than he is 63 and is not up to date on how things are done now. The cabelas employee was extremely unprofessional and rude not to mention wasted this mans time and energy in trying to purchase a specific gun he has wanted and saved for. Called management and they didn't seem to care I definitely would not recommend this cabelas or spend your money here unless you feel like being turned away or treated poorly. read more

Everything they have at the Dundee store, minus the aquarium and the questionable snack bar, and it's half the distance from my home. I dropped in to sell a few redundant pieces from my collection, and everyone I dealt with couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. They already have a good start on their used inventory (I had to talk myself out of buying a really clean S&W 422) with more coming in. With Gander Mountain closing stores right and left this one opened just in time. The Dundee store used to be a twice-a-year trip for me, but this one might require monthly visits. read more

Incompetence does not begin to even explain the firearm counter and management employees at this location. It's almost a complete joke.

Service, service, service. They need to give more of it. I know there is always 100 idiots that want to play with the guns but I was very annoyed with their system at the gun counter. Again cash in hand knew exactly what I wanted and not even a friendly glance with a very small amount of people in the department. I was happy to take my business elsewhere. Had a very POOR experience with John in the Gun Shop. My Wife and I were shopping for a new carry gun for her, We narrowed down our decision and made the decision to purchase. When I told John I want to purchase he immediately locked the gun up and starting demanding that he can't sell it to me and trying to walk away, I stop him asking for explanation, he said because I told him we were purchasing it for my wife and I and said "I" want to purchase when earlier we said we, he started rattling off laws why I can't buy it and began to storm away from me. Keep in mind my wife is still present. I tried discussing with him as I wanted to be clear why we couldn't buy it, my wife and I are both CPL holders and we're both present. He starts rattling laws off because I said "I'm buying" and not my "wife buying". I tried explaining to him he should clarified with me before becoming unprofessional and causing a scene, other customers were present and recognized his unprofessional manner with us. I explained to the manager who didn't seem too interested. Guess I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I am not a hunter or fisherman but had to go into Cabelas for a Christmas gift for my son-In-law. I will never go back, I will give a gift card and who ever needs to go and get something there they are on their own. I went in to purchase a Cabelas Ice chest $250 everyone on the floor was damaged. Finally a guy asked us for help I said they were all damaged and he said well you can order it on line at our store as he proceed to tell us that he had only 3 more days to work there he said I could help you but if you go to the front desk it would go faster, right!! Went to the front desk waited in line to be told I have to wait for the computer. The women in front of me was with an employee who did not know what he was doing and ended up spending 45 min on the computer (not exaggerating). I was starting to get very mad made some remarks that I can't believe there is not another computer here, an the very unfriendly women (standing doing nothing) did not respond just looked at me. My husband finally went over to one of the men by the front door and he said "oh yes " there is 2 more computers in the back of the store. By then I was ready to explode. Went to the back could not find the computer then finally a nice young girl name Christine asked if she could help us, well finally a good employee they have I thought. She took care of everything on the computer and we were finally on our way. They said free shipping to your house, BS, they charged a $15.00 surcharge so don't be fooled, we opted to have it sent to the store for pickup at least it was in a box hopefully when my Son-In-law opens it up it is not beat up like the ones in the store. read more
