David Farmer seems like a very friendly, outgoing salesperson and magnate. However, while this may appear to be correct on the outside, on the inside he is essentially a stonewall when it comes to any type of positive upkeep. Mr. Farmer lacks the tenacity required in order to lead this store to become any more of a success -personally going as far as to recommend Kevin Hudler or Bruce Kellman to take some form of affirmative action and become the overarching General Manager. Being the stonewall that he is, he does not take change in any form lightly, going so far as to even micromanage any and all associates below him to verify and validate that things are going his way. Shawn Dreher in a word is: arrogant. Mr. Dreher is very skilled in directing a conversation to pursue only his interests with the exception of being entirely too misogynistic - only supporting "pretty young blondes", citing a previous employee at Bass Pro Shops LLC. Similar to Mr. Farmer, Mr. Dreher is someone who over micromanages and does not have the ability to properly lead this store as a GSM. He would much rather sit there quietly and stare at associates that are doing something wrong rather than showing them something that they could do to improve - as such he ends up being more of a bully than a friendly face in the store. Mr. Dreher seems to only care for himself and his own pursuit of happiness. Mr. Dreher is not fit to hold the role that he does within Bass Pro Shops LLC. Andy Simms is quite the character. From his British accent to his own quirks within how he handles associates, he is most likely a pleasure to be around outside of work. However, while on the job, Mr. Simms seems to be almost closeted. Mr. Simms does not speak his opinion and feels almost burdened when any associate approaches him to ask for any further clarification or to fix a problem. Not only this, but he's all over the place at any given time. He continues to not be a bold enough player within the management at Bass Pro Shops, and he should proudly speak up when it comes to look at his position and his own power. Andrew Borden, while working up through the ranks at Bass Pro Shops, is in a way, just like the rest in that: he doesn't take no for an answer and cuts zero slack. This can be backed up with the fact that while he's been in his tenured run, there has been nothing truly remarkable. In a way, Mr. Borden is just average, almost benign throughout his time at Bass Pro Shops. Ms. Sajauskas keeps the apparel department in ship shape and is able to direct this with only 2-3 apparel associates on staff at any given time. While this is a very good merit on her behalf, however on the flip side, her own interpersonal skills with these associates is (in a phrase): piss-poor. Ms. Sajauskas will sit there and give you any and all praise in the world, only to go behind your back and construe you as someone who isn't worth the time of day. It should not be a chore to talk with management, as associates should view their management as someone they can go to when they have problems or items that should be brought to their attention. In the case of Ms. Sajauskas however, there seems to be a misconnect. With that being said, the with that misconnect (between her psyche and her associates) there is a reason to believe that may be the primary reason that apparel associates do not last as long within their respective departments. There is a very high overturn rate regarding associates within Women's, Men's, footwear and Camo Apparel. I can only pinpoint to it being how Ms. Sajauskas handles and treats her associates. I do not believe she should be any type of manager at any store - as this is not how someone should be treated on any basis. On a positive note, however, Bruce Kellman and Kevin Hudler are both excellent managers, and deserve more notoriety than they receive. Thank you for your time. read more

Cabela's Biometric Portable Gun Safe For the past two years, I have been trying to get assistance with this safe--IT IS UNRELIABLE. The reliability of this safe opening is not a guarantee. I have spoken to many at Cabela's Customer Service and each time, I have been walked through the process of getting the safe to remember my finger print. And, it was not until today that I was told by both Stacy and Carol at Heritage Safe that it only takes a picture of your finger print so you would need to store several finger prints in various positions. For the life of me, I cannot believe no one was notified of this issue, this is a real security problem. For the past week AGAIN, I called Cabela's Customer Service at 1-800-237-4444 and was told by a gentleman that he would have someone from Product Support to call me, well, that was a week ago. Called today and reached Denise who said she could not find a record of my calls but she would stay on the phone until someone from Product Support was on the line. Patricia from Product Support answered and after I explained the problem, she admitted that there was a problem with this safe and suggested that I contact Heritage Safe at 1-888-577-9823. I spoke to Stacy at Heritage Safe and she walked me through the process several times to no avail. Her attempt was to have me put my finger print on the safe in various positions. PLEASE HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND WHY I WOULD BE COMFORTABLE WITH THIS IN A LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION? For the life of me, I am not sure why I am the only one realizing that in an emergency, you don't want a gun safe to not open or have the gun safe alarm to start blazing! Now that this is in writing, It has now become my goal to assure that anyone who reads this will know that this safe is not reliable and that they would be putting their life in jeopardy to continue using it as a gun safe (see video). If you are an African American looking to purchase a firearm you are treated like a suspect, gang member, less than a human being, or beneath the white race. Walked into the store to look at a handgun took a number like you are asked to do, just to have several white men be helped before me without a number. Once at the counter the employee did not say good morning, hi, or hello. He greeted me with the Maryland State Laws with the purchase of a handgun. These laws were not mentioned to the three white gentleman before me. Once I told the employee who was an older skinny white male with glasses that I am in the process of getting all my proper permits just waiting on the State of Maryland to reply. He stated that I should not be able to apply or receive my permits. I was so upset and angry I just left Brass Pro Shops. Any time I am in the area or when I speak to my friends I speak of this encounter and I will strongly advise all African Americans to choose any other place to purchase your firearms. They Sales Staff ARE 100% AGAINST WOMEN! I am a mom trying to buy a boat, have money to spend but they will not make any effort to sell me a boat! I have called several times for prices and they made rude comments of why would you take a family of 4 crabbing and how I didn't need my whole family to catch crabs, I explained to have family fun and be together and he laughed and made more rude comments. Talked to manager about his behavior and stood up for the sales and said that none of his staff would act like that, never looked into it and never called me back. They never did send me pictures or prices , nothing.........I guess my money doesn't mean anything since I am a women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I placed a former complaint into corporate. I was looking for a Remington 870 Model Number 25077 shotgun. It was not available in store. I went to their website to order it and have it delivered to the store for pickup. Could not even do that. Even the chat help was of no help whatsoever. The only thing I could do was put it on my wish list, but the store does not contact customers when the items become available. So - no help or support there whatsoever. That's why I give them this low rating. Bass Pro brands itself as supporting the outdoors sportsman, but that unsatisfactory exchange proved otherwise. i suggest looking elsewhere if you want customer service and support. read more

Customer service is non existent and they dont take you seriously, especially if your a woman. I went a few times to this store and always get curt short answers when looking for items, especially lures in the fishing department. They assume if your a woman you do not have a gun permit even though I'm a certified gun collector. Shape up Bass Pro, its annoying enough y'all trying to sell me a vacation when I walk in the door. Terrible terrible customer service I stood at the gun counter for 20 mins with a number pulled in front of a employee while he chit chated with a customer not wanting to buy a gun and other employees walking by. Arundel Mills mall has become such a high crime area, Bass Pro has to lock up stock, but then there is no one around to unlock any merchandise. Their club card discount has changed as well, points expire after 30 days and you have to spend $700 to get to the level where you can spend your points. I live Bass pro. I've recently been to the new Cabelas at Christiana Mall in Delaware and there is no comparison. Cabelas had absolutely no waterfowl decoys on display whatsoever, and they were very high priced on their homemade deer processing equipment. Incompetent, slow. Got there 930 sunday to hunting counter. Took number and waited 20 minutes counter didnt even increment. As walked out noticed the poor people trying to check out with normal purchases were backed up 10 people only one front checkout open. Will not return. read more
