Large store with a lot of inventory. It's likely you will find what you need however that doesn't mean you will always get the best price. As a hunter and fisherman I could hang out here all day for the ambience but comparing prices for firearms and firearm related items they are generally more expensive. The gun counter is always extremely busy so if you are looking to make a purchase, plan on being there for at least 3 hours, most of that time is just spent waiting to speak to someone. read more

Nice place, awful service, some decent prices, especially when you snag a good sale. If you are here to look at guns or optics, bring a chair and bagged lunch. You're going to be waiting an hour or so to be seen. I gave up 35 minutes in as the three AARP members behind the counter bumbled their way through helping other customers. Bought a gun at bass pro online and went to pick it up today - the process is pretty painful here, I found. You can't test the trigger because they refuse to remove the trigger lock that's on every gun - ABSURD. That would be like buying a new car without ever sitting in it. Despite the fact that I had everything I needed to complete the transaction, the process takes way longer than at local shops (90 minutes to do the paperwork). They compelled me to buy a new barrel lock to put in the gun, despite the fact that I brought one with me (I'm aware of the laws) for that purpose. On the phone, I was told that all fees are included in the purchase price, but today had to pay an additional $10 for the MSP 77R submission. In short, I saved $30 by getting the gun here on sale, and paid back $31.50 between the unnecessary lock and the fee I was told I wouldn't have to pay. Ridiculous all around. The only saving grace (and the only reason I went through with the transaction at all) was the nice guy that handled the process. That said, never again Bass Pro. I'd rather pay pay the transfer fee elsewhere. read more

Some employees racist while others were not. Zach helped me exchange a $200 fishing rod that I purchased for my husband that snapped the first time that he used it and was very nice. The lady next to him who was identified as Karen (fitting) gave me rude stares for the entire time that I was in the store and near her (about 30 minutes). I am pretty sure she was a racist and wanted to let me know since I had the Jamaican flag on the shirt I was wearing. Dear Karen grow up it is 2021 and racists don't run anything anymore LOL! This is the place to go for guns if you want to wait 2 hours plus, get wrong information, be sent home to retrieve a form just to be told, "you don't need the form, just the pin number." Have your name drop out of queue or they erased it, so now you have to reenter your name and number and get to the back of the line. See people get the ear of a staff member and get instantly waited on as you sit there waiting for your name in queue. I will never again waste my time at this poorly run dump. read more

I purchased a Blackout CTS Bow for almost $1,000.00 with another $600.00 of upgrades for this Bow. A little over a year later the Cams both snapped, causing the carbon fiber leaves to almost break my arm, and cause un repairable damage to my shoulder. After inquiring on a repair for the included "Life-Time Warranty" I was told the manufacture stopped producing after a year and there are no replacement parts available. The Manufacture who is a sub-company of "Redhead" stated they would not supply an acceptable Bow to replace the model not in production. Providing a "Lifetime Warranty" without honoring it is Crime (State & Federal). Both Diamond Bow/Redhead & Basspro have completely ignored all calls and emails to try resolve this problem read more

My wife and I were are the Arundel Mills mall headed back to the car and arrived at Bass Pros doors at 6:59 (according to my iPhone) and was very disappointed to be told that we could not enter bass pro because it was "closing time" and it was too late to enter. Even though they were open until 7 and after they were advised that it was freezing outside and my wife was 30 weeks pregnant. I understand there are rules in place for a reason, but between closing 1 minute early and not allowing a pregnant woman to pass so she doesn't have to walk around the mall in freezing cold is another. I come here to peruse the aisle and although l am not a hunter, fisher or country gal in the sense of what their average customer is, l do enjoy coming here to window shop. Oh...and it doesn hurt that they have a little snack counter that sells those addictive sugar coated almonds, pecans and cashews... I happened upon those little morsels of nutty goodness during one of my usual browsing of the aisle sessions. An aroma of sugary goodness caressed my nose and l thought "where is THAT smell coming from in a hunting/fishing/boating store? As l followed my nose, l ended up at a counter that looked like a cart with an umbrella like shade at the front. In addition to the wonderful aroma of the sugar coasted nuts, here was an assortment of fudge in various flavors, cotton candy, fresh popped popcorn and coffee, tea and water for sale. I watched as the associate packaged those little babies in a cone shaped paper wrapper, after the had cooled out of the sugar coating machine. During my initial visit, l couldn't decide which variety, so l took a package of all three and l have been doing so every since. Oh, this is an outdoor enthusiast paradise and they have any and everything you could think of to fuel that passion. Speed boats, fishing rods, paintball supplies, hunting outerwear, hiking boots, decoy hunting items, so much! They habe a nice waterfall display in the middle of the store equipt with fake animals and on tje other side of that they have a rock.climbing wall that you can use for free. They also have a "shooting gallery" with shooting arcade games that cost (not sure of the price, but l believe under $3 a game). The associates are pleasant and helpful. Bottom Line: Even if you aren't an avid hunter or master baiter don't discount Bass Pro Shops because they have something for everybody. What's not to love about Bass Pro Shop? If you aren't impressed by the huge scale of this store you will at least be a little mesmerized by the displays complete with waterfalls, fish tanks and big game taxidermy. They even have activities here like a rock climbing an archery lane. Even if you aren't an outdoorsy type, you can indoor this Outdoor world because they have cute women's clothes, houseware, candles, candy and other fun gifty items. And no, not all of the women's clothes here are camo and plaid. You can find plenty of garments here with feminine details like inset lace and pintucks. Some of my go-to items at Maryland's only Bass Pro Shop include wool socks, water bottles, and Lodge cast iron pans. Ohh, and some impulsive old fashioned candy too. read more

Came here with the little ones for Easter pictures and the Easter egg hunt. I must admit it was a adventure helping my three year old granddaughter look for eater eggs in a hunting good store. It took us about three hours take photos and look for Easter eggs. The employees were friendly and patient especially when you had a store full of kids running around the store looking for Easter eggs. Today, we decided to go see Santa since this was the only time we could with our busy schedule. Last year we came to Bass Pro and they were wonderful! They accommodated nicely to our brother in a wheelchair and we saw Santa, took the pictures and they were amazing! So this year we decided to come and drove an hour and a half only to be told that they close at seven (Their website said eight!) and told that we can't get a pass and can only come Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and they are "sorry to inconvenience us". With a wheelchair bound boy that will not be easy as well as to fit our schedule. Bass Pro was wonderful to us last year, where did the holiday spirit go? read more

If you need stuff for the outdoors, Bass Pro is a one stop shop. They have clothes for both serious sportsmen and casual posers. We've bought serious boots, packable windbreakers, and the occasional shirt there in the past. They have a wide selection of fishing and camping equipment, and a wide choice of items to feed and entertain even the most casual outdoorsman. When my wife got into dehydrating vegetables, we knew where to shop, and any excuse to drool over their aisle of cast iron cookware is a good one. While it is sometimes just a double as a main entrance to the mall, it is worth it to just take your time, browse, and maybe hang by the big aquarium and enjoy the fish. read more

Went into Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World on Sunday 9/18 about 8pm with the wife looking to make an ammo and weapon purchase. Had previously wanted to purchase a Glock 23 from a local dealer but since they did not accept American Express, decided to make the trip down to Bass Pro. When we got into the store we made our way to the firearms section. I noticed a couple gentlemen behind the counter and few customers waiting with numbered tickets. Not wanting to take up a lot of time right away decided to look around a bit for the ammo. As stated before I was there for a very specific purpose and knew exactly what I wanted. We were looking for .223 ammo for my wife's rifle and could not find it anywhere on the shelves. We looked around for a good 5 minutes without a single person asking if we needed help. About this time I noticed that the crowd had completely disappeared from the gun counter (reason number two we were there) and decided to ask where I could find the ammo. Upon walking up to the counter I could hear the "customer service" rep let out a very audible sigh and he looked away. I assumed it was because he noticed me walking to him with a "I've got a question" look across my face but I chose to give him the benefit of the doubt and kindly asked where I could find the .223 or 5.56 rounds. The rep, whose name tag said PAUL was leaning on the counter near the ticket number dispenser looked over at me, gave me an annoyed look, then looked away again staring off into the distance and said that the rounds were behind the counter. Kind of surprised by this less than cordial interaction on his part, I said "OK, how much do they typically run", hoping this would spur some kind of desire for him to actually do his job and try to sell me something. This time I didn't even get the courtesy of a look in my direction, he just kept leaning on the counter and staring off at the end cap directly across his view and bluntly said, "it varies". There was no, can I show you some, did you want to purchase any, nothing. Just refusal to look in the direction of the person he was supposed to be helping. At this point he closed his eyes and let a sigh out again and went back to staring off. Feeling very irritated by his lack of professionalism and refusal to make eye contact, I stood there for a few seconds and then walked away rather than make a stink. It wasn't until this point that another person on the floor walked up and asked if I needed anything on this side of the counter, motioning to the store. I said no, me and my wife were just leaving. I am not sure who this salesman, PAUL, manager is but I would suggest some refresher training on how to properly function in a customer service position. Not only did you lose out on an ammo purchase, but a weapon and accessory purchase as well in all totaling more than $1,100 dollars that another store got that you did not. This might not mean much to a big chain store, but in the long run this location has just lost one more customer for life due to this. read more

So so... their customer service is lacking and everyone looks miserable. The quality of products are run of the mill.

No stars is not an option. I ordered a firearm on line and had it shipped to Bass Pro in Hanover,MD. I would have had it shipped to Cabelas in Newark, DE, but the ordering system doesn't allow for what is allowable under the law. I try to stay away from Bass Pro as much as possible, because I have alway been given inaccurate information. Too bad they took Cabelas over. Due to the ordering system I had to go to Bass Pro in MD to complete the transaction. I had proof of an address change with me in the form of a vehicle registration. They told me I needed a change of address card. MVA will not issue an additional card to replace the one that was worn out. I have never had an issue with any other FFL in MD accepting a registration card with a correct address that also has a driver's license number to match the license. The guy behind the gun counter told me my non-expired license was no longer valid under state law, because I didn't have another piece of paper with my address on it. I know for a fact this is completely false. Needless to say I returned everything to the shelf I was going to buy and cancelled the firearm order. I usually support my local FFL, but had a gift card that someone gave me. Do yourself a favor and support your local FFL always and not the big box stores with absolutely clueless employees. After further searching I found confirmation the employees at the gun counter are clueless. A vehicle registration is sufficient under ATF Regulations listed under 18 U.S.C. 922(t); 27 CFR 478.11 and 478.124]. Looking at the overall rating for Bass Pro Shops, one would think that this is the place to be. You would think that there are endless opportunities for an outdoorsman to find whatever equipment they may want. Here's the issue, if you're looking to browse, or peruse, this is great for you. Unfortunatly I knew exactly what I wanted, I didn't really need to talk to anyone about their opinion, I didn't get distracted by the huge fish tank, the rock climbing wall, the display of ATV's or their huge display of "how to cook wild game" I wanted to touch the gun I was looking to purchase, I wanted to make sure it was all I had thought it was cracked up to be, and then I wanted to purchase this weapon. I am every retailers dream. I did the research on my own, I sold the product on my own, I saved my money, and all i want to do is pick this product up. And this is why we can't have nice things. First of all Bass Pro Shops is an amusement park. More so a place to take the kids and burn daylight than it is for an outdoor enthusiast. It is the ANTI-REI, and that is ok. I arrive at the "gun" department and notice there is an old time DMV style "Take a number please" system. Wow the number I drew was 68, when I arrived, they were on 50. With 4"well seasoned" veterans working the counter, each willing to weigh in on, or tell the full history of each weapon a customer wanted to look at, it was going to take a while. As I waited, I looked through their selection, only to come to find that the item I wanted wasn't even in stock! Well maybe I can wait and ask an associate.... " NUMBER 52!!!!!!" This place is huge and a little overwhelming, but the selection of outdoor items is incredible. There are plenty of fishing, archery, hunting, hiking etc. gear. This is one of the largest outdoor stores in the area and you would be pressed to find the same expansive selection anywhere else. My bf who loves zombie flicks saturated my mind with Zombie scenarios and when I visited Bass Pro last month I realized this was the ultimate place for a Last Show Down. There's ample ammo, guns, cross bows, knives, and other weapons. They have all your hunting and paintballing needs. There's clothing, food, drinks, a rock wall (which emulates a tall rocky peak), aquarium (with big fish), fishing equipment, and high ceilings that can be scaled with the right equipment (which they have). Forget that Zombie survival kit my friend. Judy L. get in your car and meet me at Bass Pro when there's an outbreak. If you're too scared to face them off I'll put you in one of the ginormous airtight safes with food and water for a couple of hours. The decor here includes animal heads, stuffed whole animals, and fur and leather wears. I'd gear up in the hunting overalls, paintball mask, and cover my neck area with some furs. As long as they can't bite me or kiss me I think I'll be okay. If we should run out of ammo, which I highly highly doubt, we can grab a can of kerosene and climb up the rocky wall where there is actually a tent, then I'll pour kerosene down the rock wall so the zombies won't be able to get up. I'll use the cross bow and shoot em from up there if my bf isn't already doing that from the very top of the peak. Wooooo, :P If you aren't as zombie killin' motivated as I am, you can sit by the fireplace, check out the cool stuff, watch the fish in the aquarium, play with the gadgets, play interactive hunting games, or climb the rock wall for $3 for 3 climbs. Last time I climbed they let us split the 3 climbs among 3 people. Oh yeah, they have vanilla, orange, strawberry, banana, and chocolate (original) flavored moon pies for $0.99 each. My wife and I went here 2 weekends ago with a friend so I could pick up a nice $60 baitcasting combo they had in their ad and what a circus this place turned out to be. I've been to a few of their stores and we almost went to the Richmond store instead but I figured if we went to Maryland my buddy would go with us. The combo in the ad was sold out on the floor but the guy behind the (understaffed) counter said if I bring him the rod he'll put the combo together for me. Uhh...what about YOU get the rod and reel together. I don't work here, you do. Anyway, the guy looked behind the counter and said that they were sold out of left-hand retrieve on this particular reel so I went up to customer service to see if I could get a rain check. There was 1 girl behind the counter at customer service and two lines with a bunch of people. Great, another under-staffed section! I stood up there for over 10 minutes. Finally the girl got to me and said they do rainchecks but when she called back to the fishing department the guy told her they don't make the reel in left-hand retrieve. Great. I'm glad I wasted 10 minutes in another understaffed line. So $120 later I had a rod and reel. Albeit I ended up with much nicer gear, but the visit still left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Alright, so I'm not an avid hunter or outdoors person. In fact, I despise the thought of killing an animal for fun (or even by accident). However, to make our kayaking trips a little more exciting, my husband and I decided to try fishing. What better place to outfit ourselves at Bass Pro Shops in Arundel Mills Mall. You cannot miss this place upon driving up to the mall. They have built their own log cabin-looking structure and parked bass boats, ATVs and other outdoorsy vehicles around the front of the store. Greeted by many smiling associates ready to help spend your money on gadgets you don't need, we walked into another world. In the center of the building, there's a 3-story climbing wall. To the left, the have kayaks stacked to the ceiling and tents popped up all over the floor. To the right they have a giant aquarium with gigantic bass and catfish swimming around (albeit to keep the kids entertained!). Peppered throughout the store are dead, stuffed animals like moose and deer--I gather to get people in the mood to hunt. On our mission to purchase some basic fishing poles, reels and lures, we encountered aisle upon aisle of endless fishing gear. At the end of each aisle they have a small TV playing videos of guys fishing--again, to get people in the mood I guess. We did run into problems finding things since the store has so many different things. The salesman who helped us was incredibly friendly and helpful, though. Prices seem to be reasonable, although I have little frame of reference for fishing gear. If you are interested in any outdoor activity, a visit to Bass Pro Shops is a must. Lines, lines and more lines! Came in to return sunglasses and I was not greeted at the front door. I stood in line for 35 minutes while there was 1 person working at customer service. I asked an associate to call for back up which he did. Unfortunately that didn't do anything. Keep in mind the whole time I was in line there was only 1 customer in front of me. When it was finally my turn, the lady decided she felt like answering the phones instead of helping me and the 7 customers behind me. When she was done with that she then tells me sunglasses have to be returned at a different register. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! I went into the store..wasn't greeted a second time, and I had to wait another 10 minutes in line because once again there was only 1 employee working. Winter wonderland is pretty cool! This was a great place to take pics w Santa. My child was only 9 months at the time so we didn't take part in anything else at Winter Wonderland. However, there were games, toys and activities for older kids. You also receive a free 4x6 photo w Santa. They don't pressure you to purchase more pics which was a bonus. Plus my child screamed bloody murder the whole time w Santa so we were good with the one pic. We did buy a digital copy of the picture for $10 to share with family and friends. Don't buy a boat off of tracker they are nice when your signing the paperwork to buy a boat but once you get it the costumer service is crap when I bought the boat they said a boat cover and seat pedestal would be in about a week it's been a week and a half and still neither so I called and asked when it will be in and they said they had no idea. So I had a couple problems with the boat so before I brought it in they said it since I just bought they will try and get me in this week and it will be done next. I came in and Andrew their manager said it wouldn't be done for a couple weeks so I pinned him down and he said at least 3 weeks maybe more I can believe how they treat your costumers will not be buying off them again.
