Just picked up a box of Federal Fusion 150 gr with a bonded lead core for my .30-06. The dumb in the ammo department decided to chime in with his 2 cents worth, saying it was 'Gavin Newsom' ammo because it was lead free, and key-holed when shot through a paper target. Furthermore, he said it wouldn't kill big game! Having been a long time user of this particular ammo, I know it has a lead core, is extremely accurate and kills deer and elk sized critters like lightning. For a second opinion, checkout 'Masonoutdoors' on YouTube, he found it to be as good as I did. I gotta ask myself, where did Bass Pro Shop find this knucklehead to work there and why would they put him to selling ammo if he is so ignorant about the stuff he's selling? in my experience, this is outstanding ammunition at a pretty good price. I have to lead off with - I go to Brass Pro Shops for an entirely different reason than most. While everyone is busy shopping for hunting, camping, outdoor, etc. gear, I am there to see the fish and play the shoot'n game! Brass Pro is like a mini amusement park whenever I feel bored, I walk myself over to the store and peruse the fancy boats, sit on the fish shaped bench to watch the massive bass swim by, and have a pocket full of quarters to try to beat my high score at the shoot'n range. You'll also find at holidays that you can even stop in to see Santa! Every time I go the staff are friendly and helpful and on the occasions when I do make a purchase I have no troubles in the checkout. My favorite part about the store is the small food goods section, where you can find novelty items like hot sauces that'll get you in trouble if you say their names out loud, and jerky made from animals you won't find at the grocery store. Be very careful if you go to this store. We had our truck stolen from their parking lot and found out the cameras don't work. After having our truck stolen we found out lots of trucks are stolen there or broken into. The manager of the store wouldn't even talk to us or the police. First the sales clerks in the woman's department was unfriendly and not helpful. Secondly, I was given a recommendation for an APP by Bluegreen /Hilton Time Share that would provide discounts at Bass Pr Shops, the manager said he had never seen that and refused to use discount. Then my husband asked if he could plug his phone in because it was dead and the same manager said no. My husband also asked if there was a display set up of a chair he was interested in and was told no that it was being saved for someone else. Normally I love Bass Pro, but the gun department at the San Antonio TX store deserves less than a 1-star. I've had many rifle scopes mounted and borescoped over the years. Every time, I was then able to go to the range and get on paper at 100yds--then adjust my scope from there. I recently had a new scope put on my 30-06 and borescoped by a young man working in the gun shop. Fast forward a few weeks: I just got back from the range. I shot 6 rounds at 100yds and never got on paper. Had to move to the 50yd range. There I was hitting 2 FEET high and 1 1/12 FEET left. AT 50 yds! I was charged for mounting and borescoping, but I think that kid just slapped that scope on the rifle and handed it back to me. It was so far off, I couldn't move the elevation reticle enough to get on the bulls eye. I will have to take the rifle in to be borescoped by a different gun shop--someone who knows what the heck they are doing. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE! read more

So, I take my 2007 Kenner Boat in for repair, I told them everything that was done and the issues I was having, they told me it would be about two weeks before they can get it in to shop, I wasn't in any hurry, two weeks goes by and tell me they need diag time and order a tps sensor, which was causing the runaway idle. I told them go ahead. A week goes by, they call me again, said boat motor still doing same thing, but the fuel pump wasn't installed correctly, they need to fix it so engine could run correctly, I told them go ahead if it's going to fix the issue. Another week goes by and they tell that didn't fix the issue, but one of there tech had same boat and they wanted to swap ecm to test if that was the issue, I said go ahead. A couple of days later they call me and said that didn't fix it but they found a leaky intake manifold gasket leaking and they were pretty sure that was the issue. I siad go ahead and fix it, I get another call a week later, that they needed to take to the lake to test the engine, I said go ahead, I just wanted my boat fixed at this time, so They call me again and said they fixed the alarm issues but not the idle issue which both are related. I pick boat up got charged 1645.00 For a boat that came out the same way it went in But with damage to the bottom of the hull, the techs that took boat out bottomed out on my boat, I have the inspection report on intake, there was no damage on the bottom. At this point, Basspro is definitely is no go for any kind of repairs or testing of boats, stay away, my attorney is going to take care of this matter.ive called them, to be ignored and treated like poop. So you can spend your money there, I won't. read more

Nice store but never order online for store pickup. They are extremely disorganized and have long wait time for pickup. My order sat in their store for 7 days before I showed up in person. I was still told item had not arrived. The .com customer service said my item was in the store. With my persistence they finally looked for my package. This is by far the biggest Bass Pro Shop I have ever been too! As you enter from the main entrance you will be amazed to see that not only is there a huge shopping atrium, but there are two levels! Look to your left and you see a full restaurant and a fudge shop snack bar. Wow, we came in here looking for stocking stuffers and came out with much more. During Christmas you will always find Bass Pro is a cool place to take kids so they can see a really traditional looking Santa - not one of those bright red cheap Santa you see at most Malls. This BPS goes further by adding an indoor carousel and other rides for the little ones. I loved it! read more

This is a trend within the culture of the store, terrible customer service. Pre purchased a firearm online and was treated rudeley by the firearm employees. Suposedly you have to pre check in with a QR code , that you arent aware of unless told. Then i waited 2 hours while other walk ins were treated as paying customers and by looking and not buying. Never going back. Honestly i dont like Academy either but was never treated this badly as a paying customer. Also recvied a email about my expericene and was told " my input and expericne is valuabel to them" Get outta here. Great place for all things outdoors. Apparently, on Sundays in Texas, they can NOT sell ATV's. State law. Otherwise everything you need from the fishing boat to the flies. And a cooler to haul your catch back to home or campsites. read more

Do not online order for store pick up!!! There is only one guy in customer service to help. Asked for assistance from an employee said they would get help. He went to club desk looked like he asked they laughed and no body helped. Only one guy at desk during Christmas time is ridiculous he is probably doing best he can. Went in with me son looking to get a new shotgun. They were a little busy but not overwhelmed. It took the employees a little while to help those individuals which is fair. Once they were done helping those customers however, they were apparently too busy talking about football and screwing off than actually helping a customer. I waited about 30 minutes for them to help other customers and then another 10 minutes for them to assist me. At that time, I figured my money must be no good there and left. Ordered an expensive item online that said it was in stock. Went to pick it up and waited 2 hours and got a notification that my order was canceled. I saw the item at the store and asked the manager if he could give me that one and he told me he could not. I then asked the manager if I could get my money back and he said I would have to wait up to 30 days. I left emptied handed and disgusted on how they handled the situation. The next day I called to request my money back and they said they would send the item overnight. I always enjoy Bass Pro. I've been several around the country. This one in San Antonio is nice as well. In fact they had a lot of hunting gear I've never seen anywhere else including other Bass Pro Shops. I don't know if that's because it's Texas. Hope they build one by me in San Diego. Welcome to COVID corner. I was in on the first Saturday after the governor lifted the mask requirement. I would say that 65% of the customers were not wearing masks, and not social distancing. There were also employees who had masks on, but they didn't have them covering their nose and mouth. I won't shop here again until we reach herd immunity, or they go back to having a mask policy. I guess they have enough other customers, so they don't need my business. read more

Military personnel should not buy guns from this store. First off they are over priced on guns second, of all the Bass Pro Stores in all the states I've been to, this one has the worst customer service. They are not user friendly toward military personnel. I made a deliberate trip driving an hour to get there with a baby in tow to buy gun accessories. The man behind the counter was a good salesman and sold me on a hand gun. I showed military ID and since I wasn't a Texas resident I was asked if I had my orders. I had a copy in my email and he said no problem, they should be able to print for me downstairs. I went downstairs and encountered the rudest manager who informed me that printing my orders was impossible. I told him that I had an hour drive to my house. He didn't budge. He didn't want to see what I had. He simply said no. As a result, I drove all the way home leaving everything I had driven there for on the counter. As I was driving I called the corporate office to complain. They said they were sorry and that someone in management would call me. Next thing I know my phone rings and it's the same rude manager. Telling me that he verified with the corporate office that they couldn't print my orders because it was a photo!! I told him it was a scan!!! I only had said "like a photo," when he had looked at me blankly bc he didn't know what a scan was!! I told him you refused to look at my phone and never even gave me a chance. I could have had the orders sent from an official military email!! You never gave me the opportunity. You had your mind made up not to help me as you approached the desk. Stay away from this store and buy either online or from small businesses. read more
