I've visited this place twice while in town for work. Selection of firearms and ammo is decent and accessories seem well stocked. Staff were present and attentive, and registration process for range was simple and easy to use. The issue I had here was only my experience. First was a random fire sprinkler issue that caused the range to close early. In fairness I was not charged for my shortened range time. My problem was with the lack of honesty of my range ammo. To be clear, I used MAGTECH Steel case, copper jacket, lead projectiles. Not steel core ammo. I was holster certified by the RSO, who was a professional employee, using the same boxes of ammo. Clearly listed on the box, and hiding nothing. Then the issue with the sprinklers happened which I heard from two employees is not the first time. I figured someone a few ranges over shot the dam thing out, which is common with novice shooters. Upon being allowed to reenter the building to check out for the day since they were shutting down, a young, and clearly misinformed employee challenged my ammunition. First he tells me they don't allow steel ammo. I said this ain't steel ammo, it's steel casing. Then he tried to give me his un-grounded, opinion on how "damaging" the cases are to my gun. In respectfully said, no, that's incorrect, I've shot thousands of these for years, judging by his age, longer than a he's been in short pants. lol. Then he says how steel ammo may light unburnt powder in the range, which he might have a point, if I was using STEEL CORE PROJECTILES, which I was not. Next was how "dirty" my "steel ammo" is. This was especially entertaining, as MAGTECH uses the same powder and primer, in their brass ammo as their steel cases. Again, misinformation. Then I politely say, why don't you just take the honest approach bro, and tell me you cant recycle the cases and we can end the conversation. I reload, so I get it. However I was not home and needed cheap training ammo. Honest is best next time. Especially in an industry where 80% of your customers are relying on your employees to educate them and help them make a good self Defense purchase. I'll just go somewhere else, no harm no foul. read more

I cannot stress enough how displeased I am at the customer service of this range. I placed an order online, which had stock in store listed on the website. After placing said order, I went to the store to pick it up. Mind you, it wasn't a firearm, but a simple scope mount. Instead of fixing the issue, I was not provided any solutions, just a "you should cancel because our stock was wrong." No ship to home, no call when it is available, just a "you're out of luck" response. I don't think it's unreasonable to be treated more than just another number here to buy something. But instead, I just get brushed off to the side like I'm trash. read more

I saw a gun on Mission Ridge's website that said was in stock. I called ahead to verify it was still available since I was driving from Austin to San Antonio to look at it and buy it. That was gun was not in the store as the sales girls stated. I explicitly asked her if it was there since it was a long drive. This place flat out lied to me and cost me 4 hours of driving. I've had trouble finding an LTC instructor in my area to get my range qualification. I was in San Antonio on business and decided to see if I could find one there. Fortunately, I found MRRA. The instructor I dealt with was Joe C. in the archery department. He walked me through the entire process, explaining every step of the way. For $35, I was provided with the test, target, ear protection and a 9mm Sig to use during the test. If I hadn't been wearing eyeglasses, they would have provided me with the eye protection, too. The only thing they didn't provide was the ammunition, but there's an Academy right there and I bought a box of 50 for about $13. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. On a side note, the facility itself is top notch. Next time I'm in SA, I'll be back to get in a little range time. read more

Easily the best gun store / range I've been to, worth a 5-star review on the first day of 2024. Customer service is superb; we received a welcoming vibe and expert advice from Sam, which ended up in the rental, then purchase of his n' her SIG P365s. Selection for long guns, shotguns, pistols and accessories are very good, and the prices are competitive. Their archery section also appears well stocked, though I didn't shop that corner of the store. It's a pleasure to be able to try out and practice with firearms on this store's well-equipped range. The range officer was kind enough to lend me his speed loader to make things run smoothly; I ended up getting the same model to take home the same day. Finally, the courses in gun safety are excellent. Ended up taking the basic course as well as a License to Carry course from Corey Molinelli and can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommend you stop in for a visit whether you're a veteran gun owner or a newbie. read more

Been a member for two years. I have used the pistol range sparingly but have used the 100 yd rifle range quite often. I have purchased a rifle and a suppressor and have had a trigger job and a cleaning done on an old rifle. There have been some delays, but there are also things to consider, i.e. childbirth, and the fact that their website is not only their stock but, also, their distributors. My grandfathers .270 had loading issues on the line and the RO called the smith and fixed it right there. My 1911 popped the roll pin out of the front sight post. I took it to the gunsmith, and he reseated it and flanged it...free of charge. If you want absolute perfection look to the Bible. If you want a gun range that will discuss load development; fix the minor issues immediately; and acknowledge you as a shooter trying to tighten up groups, then here you go. Never shot a bow here...I have a gun. read more

Bringing my younger brother, I am inclined to educate him on how to load the firearms himself, fix malfunctions and remain safe while doing all this. Warned once I am not allowed to do that, my grandfather proceeds to show him & the RSOs claimed they warned us 3 times--that they should kick us out... for trying to teach safety to a new shooter. They have a chip on their shoulders and a god-complex that would make many officers blush. I've found 3 others ranges I would happily go to instead. I'd implore you to save your money and have a better time elsewhere. read more

My girlfriend made the mistake of using this place for an FFL transfer and man was that a error. Since my girlfriend is physically disabled I offered to provide both transportation and to help with the firearm itself at this place. First we were totally ignored for a bit then, when the staff did "help" us it was with a smug, sorry attitude. We were treated like criminals the whole time and it was as if she was attempting to purchase a .50 or RPG for crying out loud. She had to jump through 167 hoops to get the transfer to go through and the whole episode just sucked. I realize their range and overpriced selection of firearms and accessories gets lots of good reviews on here but, if you want to do an FFL transfer, this is not the store to use. I recently sold a revolver on GunBroker and needed to find an FFL to ship it to the buyer. I'd been to this shop a couple of times before, so I called to ask about their shipping fees. The staff member I spoke with confirmed--after checking with their shipping department--that I would only need to pay the shipping cost and that there were no additional fees, which honestly surprised me. When I arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful, as always. However, the shipping quote they gave was for 2-day FedEx on a 9-pound package. I knew there was no way a revolver weighed that much, but since I didn't want to go through the hassle of finding another FFL, I agreed to the quote. Later, when I checked the FedEx tracking, it showed the package was actually 3 pounds. While I appreciate the friendly service, I do wish the shipping information had been more accurate from the start. Leaving a 3-star review doesn't mean I'm upset about the undisclosed shipping fee and I understand they are a business and need to make profit, --it's simply my hope that the business can be more transparent going forward. read more

Great service, knowledgeable staff, good selection of archery accessories. I bought my recurve bow from them and they were really helpful while also listening to what I actually wanted and not trying to upsell or sway me to a compound bow. Most staff are great, knowledgeable and will answer any question of yours. Jordan in particular is an amazing teacher. I've shot my bow probably about 10 times now, have taken a couple of lessons from him and with his help and the way he challenged me I've been able to work on my aiming and now I can hit the bullseye at the maximum distance of their range - I think it's 20 yards. A buddy and I spent a couple hours on cinco de mayo at Mission Ridge gun range. It was the first time I had been to this range and let me tell you, I am a BIG fan!! Nice and clean ranges, Air Conditioned, modern and great customer service are just a few reasons I will be returning. If you're ever on the North Side ya need to check this place out. I love this place. I probably go there at least once a week to just browse and day dream about all the things I want. . I've used the range many times usually on Tuesdays because of the 1/2 price range special for LTC holders. I also go to all the dealer days they have and always have a blast especially because it's free. The range is a pretty standard indoor range. Nice and well kept. Air conditioned and well lit. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Range safeties are always attentive. Good place for a novice shooter to learn the sport of shooting and not be intimidated by other places that assume you know what your doing. read more

Drove 35 minutes to get there and they had no record of my reservation AND the rifle range was closed for maintenance! I cancelled my Gold Membership today. Really unhappy with my experience here, I'm actually really pissed. I went in to have them cut down and tune my arrows to my bow, they said it would take one to two days and it took them almost a week. I was quoted $15-$20 for the service and upon pick up, was not only charged DOUBLE the quoted price but was chastised and treated disparagingly by a rude associate for not having purchased a maintenance accessory yet. I also got shorted five field points that I was told would be included. Visually pleasing place but on the whole, a really crappy company that's out to screw you over and take your money. My 8 year old daughter decided she wanted to try archery for the first time while we were there. Preston at the archery desk was really patient and explained everything each step of the way. They have a nice check in process and they claim to let you bring in your own paper targets. When I showed the desk clerk my targets , he was complimentary of the targets. I purchased them on line and they are for hostage taker and active shooter scenario training. He checked me in and said I was good to go and I could use those targets. After firing about 50 rounds, another employee walked in to the range tapped me on the shoulder while I was shooting and told me to stop. He said I couldn't use my targets because they were "too realistic". I told him the desk clerk approved them. He looked puzzled and then said No again. He forced me to go back to the desk and purchase their own bullseye targets for $2.00 a piece. I'm not returning to this "fantasy world" firearms range. They either are in denial about shooting scenarios or they're just trying to gouge their captured customers for more money. read more

These guys are the best. They got me an AR-15 with a binary trigger for less than a thousand dollars. I accidentally left my pistol and they waited for me to run back since my car got a flat (literally ran) then they were kind enough to give me a ride back to my car and give me a water bottle! "Come to Mission Ridge, where YOU'RE NOT WORTHY to shoot on our range!" I have come to shoot on their range several times, only to have their range staff block my simple business transactions, not let me shoot and treat me like an idiot. One time, the attendant behind the desk gave me back someone else's driver's license and then copped an attitude when I told him that he returned the wrong one. Another time, I went to zero a shotgun with slugs at 50 yards and explained my intent to the desk attendant, only to get on the range and not be allowed to shoot. These are far from the only incidents, in addition to having their range staff needlessly on your case and distracting you while trying to shoot. But Friday, I went to zero a rifle with match grade hollow points, showed them my firearm and ammo and they then demanded that I empty my magazines to ensure that I'm not using tracers, talking down to and embarrassing me in front of the entire store. I pushed back that I'm a veteran, know the difference and used to manage a gun store with a range and that they're not touching my ammo. The attendant then rudely threatened to confiscate my magazines, saying "You can unload 'em or we can do it for you", in an intimidating tone. At this point I angrily demanded my license back. I then berated him in front of the entire facility, that while they have the nicest range in San Antonio, people COME TO SHOOT, not deal with passive BS, endless run around and range staff on their case. I then yelled at him that time is money and to RESPECT THAT. I will NEVER do business with Mission Ridge again, after they have abused my time, brutally run me around and humiliated me in front of the entire store. Mission Ridge's range staff can be thankful that I'm not their general manager, because if I found out that they were running off legitimate business, I'd go Neutron Jack 2.0. If you've had a similarly horrible experience with Mission Ridge, then PLEASE share your reviews as well to hold them accountable. In the meantime, the first business to build a 100-yard indoor range in San Antonio that runs a safe facility WITHOUT mistreating their customers will EASILY take Mission Ridge's clientele and market share. read more

Take about a 5 star establishment. This place is well kept, staff on site is professional and knowledgeable. It has everything you need for a fun day- short range and long range bays, archery and a ton of available rentals. Their gunsmith department is also top notch. Archery counter was knowledgeable and efficient. The staff member did not apply the appropriate sales price for bow, arrows and accessories and I was over-charged by around $70. We had to hustle to the airport, came in from Dallas to San Antonio to make this happen. They said accounting could make the adjustment if we call upon return home. Followed instructions on 11/28, it is 12/11 and still no credit refunded nor further contact from MRRA. They need to do better than this..... FOLLOW UP: Somebody from Mission Ridge paid attention to my review and promptly corrected this. With that done, the archery service was excellent and I am comfortable increasing my rating and recommending the archery pro shop at MRRA! read more
