I'm starting to feel each time I walk around Flatbush I'm unconsciously looking to immerse myself…read morein my Caribbean roots. Today was no different. I walked into Caribbean Vibes restaurant and felt at home even though I'm not Jamaican. I wanted a soup and instead of their cowheel soup of the day (Tuesday), I went ahead and asked for their pigtail soup. The cashier laughed and explained it was stew peas usually served with a carb. I negotiated and got MY soup. WIN. Homestyle seasoning was accomplished flawlessly. Even thought I cannot stand spicy food I was able to tolerate their hint of hot spice. THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. And this is an extremely powerful compliment from someone who doesn't even like black pepper. Food shouldn't be so filled with pepper burning my tongue and blistering my mouth to be considered flavourful. Let the other yummy ingredients shine man! (Yeah, stop with the no way she's a Trinbagonian jokes. I've heard them all). I grew up in a house with a mummy making REAL PEPPER SAUCE, NOT hot sauce. So real that at times tears would literally fall from my eyes when she made pepper sauce using the mother in law/ scorpion pepper. So stop the jokes, stop eet! My small "soup" packed  like a large was soooooo guuud! Everything including peas, steamed dumplings and meat (chicken foot (what a surprise) and pigtail) was so soft that when I bit into my meat I went straight through and the bone crumbled. Staff was so nice. Very very  pleasant. ALL OF THEM. I LOVE US SO MUCH. Definitely returning. The End.

Unfortunately, the service was so rude and unprofessional that I have no intention of returning. From the cashier to the employees serving the food, the staff consistently came across as irritated and dismissive toward paying customers. It genuinely felt like our presence was an inconvenience. Orders were forgotten, and instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake courteously, staff became visibly annoyed when customers politely reminded them. One interaction in particular stood out. A customer calmly and clearly explained his order, yet an employee repeatedly raised his voice and accused the customer of confusing him. The customer remained respectful throughout, but the employee continued to respond aggressively. It was uncomfortable to watch. What surprised me most was that everyone waiting in line was talking about how poor the customer service was. When multiple customers are commenting on the staff's attitude while waiting for food, that's a sign there's a serious problem. The food isn't what will keep me away; it's the complete lack of professionalism and respect shown to customers. I sincerely hope management addresses the culture and customer service, because the restaurant has potential, but the experience made me decide I won't be coming back.

Like, we-think-you-don't-have-a-day-job kind of late. Noon-ish. On a Tuesday. I don't know who their target demographic is, but it's not anyone with a functioning calendar. When you do manage to show up during their elusive open hours, you're greeted by... well, "greeted" is generous. The staff makes you feel like you interrupted their private cheese cult meeting. Don't expect warm conversation -- unless you're the cheddar. There are free samples, which I respect. If you're feeling broke and brave, you could turn it into a little snack crawl. And the cheese? It's fine. Not bad. Not transcendent. Just... cheese. Maybe you'll find something aged and interesting, or maybe you'll walk out wondering if Trader Joe's would've hit the same for less. Verdict: Free samples Absurd hours Staffed by dairy gatekeepers Cheese that says "eh," not "ooh"

I went in there to buy something that I knew was overpriced but when I asked about it, the guy behind the counter said oh I just put it away in the back, Like I just put it away and I don't wanna be bothered with having to get it back out. So I left. And this isn't the first time I've encountered this kind of experience with the employees who I guess the owners feels It's more important that the employees are happy than the customers are happy. i'll take my business to Whole Foods.

This place is definitely one of my go-tos for cheese if I'm in the area - and they will let you taste/sample cheeses that you're curious about. They also often have samples of one or cheeses, as well as samples of other foods, on a display table near where you enter the store. There's also a good selection of crackers, Jams and preserves, beer,non-alcholic beverages. They sell breads from She Wolf Bakery and they often have cookies from The Good Batch. This is a great place to stop in if you're already in the area but if you're not it's worth making a special trip over just to check it out! Chances are you'll find something that you like (and a lot that you're tempted by)

Honestly, they know more about cheese than anyone I've ever met, and thanks to them, I walk out with bags of greatness and the promise of an amazing night ahead. And whatever you do, don't sleep on their sandwiches. They're crafted with the same magic touch. A gem in Park Slope, through and through.

Not sure if they changed cooks or recipes but the first time I had their Bronzino alla Griglia, I was blown away. Not just by the taste, but by presentation, price point, portion.. everything. It really is a great deal. I also tried their lobster and shrimp pasta, another amazing deal along with some other dishes but the Bronzino is the one dish I used to order consistently. Their version of Chimichurri was super flavorful and tangy. Not too salty or overpowering but just enough since it seemed like they weren't super heavy with any seasoning on the actual meat. If you look at the first picture I uploaded and compare it to the one I just posted, the difference is clear as day. Nowhere near as much garlic, no lemon slices, barely any parsley. Idk. I love fish so I still enjoyed it because it was obviously fresh and prepared well, but it could be better.

Incredibly delightful spot--an excellent choice whether you are stopping in the storefront portion…read moreup front for provisions, an excellent coffee, or some of the best, wonderfully curated cheeses you can find, or if you are venturing to the back for a certainly delicious, most likely cheese-forward meal. I have eaten in here twice in quick succession. Stopped in for a quick meal before a nearby event and had a kale salad, which is simply sublime--the mix of savory (kale, farro, walnuts), a touch of sweet (dried cranberries) and the rich tang of manchego--and we're not talking a drizzle, we are talking honking large chunks of high end manchego dusting your salad like a snowstorm... one of the best things I've eaten in some time. I know what you might be thinking, just a salad? But an incredibly filling, satiating salad, and with the added frisson of feeling somewhat healthy... it was hard to avoid ordering on my next visit! But try other things I did upon dining here with my fiancée, to great success! For appetizers, we shared several plates, which were also quite enjoyable, with highlights being the Artichoke Crostini (featuring parmesan and Manchego) and the Butternut Squash Soup topped with roasted pepitas was delightful (actually featuring zero cheese!). The spring pear salad (arugula, goat cheese, zucchini, pear, pomegranate, walnuts) was quite solid--zucchini perhaps a tad overwhelming the other ingredients, but still enjoyable, and of course we had to try a cheese plate--as I indicated above, their cheese selection is amazing--I doubt you can go wrong, but their Manchego is truly amazing, and the Barely Buzzed--with ground espresso crust--are stunners. We had an excellent blue cheese as well. Drinks were fine--not my favorite part of the experience, but good enough. Wine was ok too--did have a "dry" white that I didn't feel met the description--but the beer list is quite interesting. They do offer good happy hour drink deals as well--though they didn't include some of the more adventurous cocktail options... perhaps I should come back later and try those. The back is charming--calling it a speakeasy or "hidden" cocktail bar is a bit of a stretch, but it is nicely portioned off from the store, and there is a cool outdoor area as well. Staff is super helpful, particularly in the restaurant portion. The provisions/cheese slicing up front can be a little slow moving but again, damn if that cheese isn't worth any kind of wait!
