Supporting local businesses is important to us, and Button Nose has continued to be an excellent choice for our family. ******** I have been bringing my dog here for several years, and my mother-in-law as well as many friends have entrusted their pets to this location for even longer. Throughout that time, my experiences with Judy have consistently been wonderful. She has always been incredibly accommodating, helpful, and genuinely kind when assisting with scheduling my dog's appointments. I'm not sure where she is currently, but the past few weeks have been unexpectedly challenging. After accepting the earliest available appointment--which was two weeks out--I asked to be notified if any cancellations became available. The person assisting me seemed uninterested in honoring that request, despite the fact that Judy has always taken the initiative to reach out and fit us in whenever possible. On the day of the appointment, an unforeseen situation arose at my daughter's school. I contacted the shop in hopes they might be able to work with me, even slightly. I offered to arrive a bit earlier or, if necessary, twenty minutes later. I was told they were fully booked and unable to accommodate any adjustment. Every reasonable option I proposed was met with resistance. I am uncertain who is currently overseeing scheduling, but the level of customer service does not reflect the care and professionalism Judy consistently provided. I sincerely hope that Judy is only away temporarily. If not, I may need to seek a mobile groomer who can offer the same level of attentiveness and customer care that she always delivered. read more

My dog has always been very scared and anxious because of bad experiences with other groomers in the past. But from the very first visit at Button Nose, everything changed. We dropped off our 1 year old English Cream Golden Retriever for a deluxe bath the other day for her first professional grooming. She came out looking like a show dog! Everything was trimmed and bathed to perfection. She still smells amazing and her ears feel silk! I love that she was behind the cash register with two other dogs when we arrived. It was like one of those Subaru commercials with the Golden Retrievers Also, the groomers were incredibly sweet and kind. We will make this a monthly routine! read more

I took my dog to this salon, and specifically asked for a shanuzer cut. My dog came back looking like a rat. They shaved his entire body, when I specifically asked for them to just brush out his mats. I have taken him to many other places with his hair being the same way, and they have managed to brush him out without making him bald. I am extremely disappointed, and will never come back! I was told that they might have to shave him, and I asked for them to not!!!! They still did. This work is lazy and extremely disappointing. I could've shaved my dog bald for free, instead of paying $80! read more

love this small local shop. we stopped going to Petco when they told me that they could no longer do cuts on our dog because he was "senile" (although they graded him as being happy and friendly at the very same service appointment; and i don't think my dog is senile btw--maybe he just didn't like his groomer or had an off day). at button nose, they show our dog lots of care and have never shown any hint of age discrimination. great groomers! read more

Love this place! I've brought my Australian Shepherd/Lab mix Joey and my German Shepherd/Vizsla mix Cooper there each once and boy did they do a great job! You come in and everyone is so nice and welcoming. Both dogs were really nervous as it was their first grooming and the staff was so helped put them at ease right away. The groomers come out and speak with you to talk about what you want done. I'm a nervous dog parent so I called during the grooming to check-in and they were helpful and kind. I know they do this every day so I really appreciated their patience. The dogs come out looking handsome and seem at ease. They do such a great job! My only recommendation would be to ask about pricing upfront as what we were charged is always different than what is listed on the website. Not a big deal as their website clearly states that prices can vary AND what we end up paying is well within the range of what I've been quoted at other places (and I've researched quite a few!) I've been a customer at Button and Nose for about 2 years now every since we got our mini golden doodle. I've previously had other dogs before and I must say, this is the only place I trust. After moving away from La Crescenta area, to Koreatown, I took my dog to a few other places and he always came back so scared. He would sleep all day and need to recover. However, I recently moved back and took him back to button and nose and He came back so happy and still himself. When I first took him here as a baby, the groomers were so attentive. We told them that it was his first grooming session and they came out with the razer so that he can feel it on his skin so that he gets familiar. Also, they try to match you up with the same groomer so your dog feels more comfortable. They are cage free and I can really tell all the workers there love dogs. There is also a window you can see your dog through so I feel comfortable leaving him there. Usually, service is quick 1.5 -2 hours, sometimes more but that is the average for us! I highly recommend this location to everyone in the area :) Cheers! read more

I have a difficult senior dog who hates being groomed and whose regular groomer recently retired. While Button Nose wasn't able to cut his hair, they spent two hours trying and did a great job with his bath so I appreciate their efforts and not just giving up on him like most shops probably would. Pros: + I like their "no kennel" setup where they have playpens for the dogs and can separate them as needed but for the most part it's like a doggy day care while waiting for groomers or pickup. + Prices are very reasonable. After coming from a mobile groomer that was charging $150 per grooming session, it was refreshing to see prices around $70-80 for similar services. + Easy parking out front or behind the shop. + Experienced groomers who are good listeners about what you want for your dog. + The shop has good communication and calls/texts with status updates. + I appreciate they try to get your dog to have the same groomer each time, so they can learn what you like over time. + A good selection of dog products in the lobby including some of my dog's favorite treats. Cons: - It can be difficult to hear the receptionist when some of the playpen dogs are yapping/barking. Overall I'm sorry it didn't work out with my senior dog who has a very difficult personality, but I appreciate they put in a herculean effort to try and accommodate him. My golden doodle only gets her grooming done with Button Nose. They are very good at listening to your haircut request. They also take their time releasing the mattings and does not shave off the dog's hair (of course unless it was requested by owner). Vincent, our groomer takes really good care of Mochi, she always looks so pretty after her groom. Vincent also gives us tips how to take care of matting and during our today's visit he advised me to use a medicated shampoo due to my dog developed rashes on her belly,chest and legs from extreme LA heat. I appreciate that they are very considerate and really care for the pets and their owners. Their prices are very good too and does not try to rip you off at all. Not only did our pup Poojah get a pitch-perfect pro grooming at a competitive rate, but he came home happy, bounding around, and looking like a million bucks. The prices have increased quite a bit while service has gone downhill under the new ownership. The last grooming for my dog was shoddy: uneven fur, barely trimmed nails, and he's been itching nonstop even though we paid extra for them to use the special anti-itch shampoo. I'm not sure if they used the shampoo properly (needs to be left on for at least 10 minutes) or at all. I found the attitude at the front to be uncaring and unprofessional so will be taking my dog/business elsewhere. read more

I would get a weekday discount one month, and no discount the next month regardless of the fact that I brought my dog in on a weekday. When I brought it up, I was given attitude and a reason for a lack of discount. I don't need a discount, but if you showcase it, then stand by your word/advertisement. I do appreciate that they make sure every dog has had their shots and require proof.
