I also needed something for my lash lift and tint, since the place I went to didn't give me after care supplies. She recommended the Real Techniques Disposable Dual-Ended Spoolies. This is our go-to Ulta when we need something. The security and staff greet you when you enter and every time I've stopped in the staff has been attentive and always asks if we need help. On our most recent visit we were looking for specific items and the staff helped us look in multiple sections to find what we needed. It was nice to see that even with more obscure requests the staff was happy to help us figure things out and find some different options. Sometimes when we visit certain stock is low or out, but we're always able to figure it out and find alternatives. read more

This location is a little disorganized. The store shelves were not stocked, how can you purchase air??? Or nothing. They need someone to merchandise the store to make it more pleasing to the eye. If I could give a zero I would !!! Letter to Ulta olympia My name is Bri Ellis. I have been a customer of Ulta for over 10 years possibly longer. I shop here all the time mostly online because I'm a busy single mom and I work full-time. Yesterday it was my day off. I needed to come in to get a cologne for my son that he has been wanting. It was the Azaro the most wanted cologne in the Travel spray size. When I walked in the manager Victoria at the front desk an older lady looked me up and down and was clearly judging me, but I decided to ignore it. I had my hair in a messy bun and was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. I also had my 11 year-old daughter with me at the time. I excited to ignore her judgmental Looks and asked her if the cologne that I had put on hold the night before was still behind the counter. I told her the night before I had called to see if they had it. They didn't tell me that there was multiple different kinds of that particular scent. The lady at the front desk on the phone told me I'd be behind the counter and then I could pick it up the next day. Fast forward to yesterday Victoria looked me up and down and told me "we don't do that "we don't hold things overnight". I told her I didn't know that and I was just doing what the lady told me over the phone yesterday. I asked her where the cologne was, and she pointed to the right back of the store. She didn't ask if she could help me or see if there was someone that could show me. I walked back there just to find out that the cologne I wanted had five different sense that were all named the same thing and it was all locked up. That lady Victoria knew that everything was locked up and that she was going to need to come back there and help me anyways and still decided to not. When I went back there, a girl with multicolored hair and bangs young girl did not get her name was back there and I asked her if she could help me. She made me feel stupid for not knowing there was five different sense and I didn't know which one I needed. I kept asking her to sample them and she rolled her eyes. I kept asking for pieces of paper to sample them on and she did not want to help me at all. I finally decided to just take the only travel size they had in hopes that it's the smell I want it. I just had to get out of there. She grabbed it and told me she would bring it up to the front counter and that maybe Policy, but at the moment I felt that she was judging me and thought that I was going to steal it. I walked up to the front to pay for the cologne and my daughter's makeup bag that she wanted Victoria was the one who was up at the counter still and ran me up. I told her the girl in the cologne perfume section was very rude to me, and she ignored me and just continue to ring me up with an attitude. I left their feeling judged unwanted as a customer and I absolutely will never be back to this location. I ended up calling the store this morning since it's the next day and the girl that helped me in the cologne last night was the one that picked up the phone and did not like the fact that I was calling to complain about her. She had a major attitude and told me that everything she did was and not judgment of me and that she did her job correctly. I ended up just hanging up on her because she was so disrespectful and rude. I also called corporate and waited on hold for 27 minutes just for the phone to hang up on me. I went in for my 12 year old hair cut. I was about 8 mins late due to personal reasons. Tavone who was the hair dresser right away gave us attitude and said there isn't a late policy but couldn't do all services. Looking like she was miserable and angry. Well giving attitude said what are you trying to do? I was like never mind how can I trust you with my child's hair. Just her demeanor as she spoke to us was horrible. No service skills, and just like I was wasting her time. Considering it was slow, seemed like she has plenty of time. We had a few words, spoke to a manager, but I'm not sure if anything will be done. You can't treat people like that, she was just rude from the start. The prices are kind of high - I get most of my hair and makeup products via Amazon AND...my review is about the service I received from the Brow Bar from Ms. Maggie. Maggie is a superstar! This was the first time I had facial waxing, and she did such a terrific job. Hardly felt a thing, and I am very pleased with the results of my lip chin and brow waxing. Maggie has great energy. I went in to pick up an online order, one that I had already paid for. I forgot my ID at home but had a picture of my ID on my phone which the clerk was not even willing to look at. She just refused to help me or give me other options outside of going home to get my physical ID. I mean we pay with Apple Pay and an ID is not required when you're taking payment. But my issue was not with the policy, it was with the interaction. When I walked up she did not acknowledge me and was short with me when she did interact with me. The double charged me for an item ($10 each)...but I'm too jaded to return to get the credit owed. Also the cashier double charged my cc for the total amount, over $250. After several days a credit was applied...but the managers argued with me about it, in front of everyone...after making me wait in line 20 mins! I even showed them my bank transactions on my app. Horrible experience. They give really bad product advice too...twice I've been sold the completely wrong colors and foundation types for my skin. I gave as a gift a makeup lesson for my best friend for Christmas in their beauty salon. She went to the appt wanting to spend a couple hundred dollars on new makeup after being taught how to use it on her facial features. The young woman who gave her this "lesson" clearly didn't understand what this appt. was about. My friend has hooded eyes and the final result made her look horrible. There was no explanation on how to use the makeup with prompts from my friend reminding the technician that this was a lesson. No blush, no lips, and her eyes came out looking like she had two puffy black eyes. I was so disappointed as I was so excited to give this as a present to her. I definitely would not recommend having makeup lessons there. Customer service is amazing, but teaching someone how to apply makeup properly needs some work! read more

I don't come to this location often, because of distance. I'm closer to both the Arden Mall and Town & Country locations. I came in for my appointment today with my Benefit Brow gal pal, Tyra!! She's the best!! Always fun to talk to and has the magic to make my eyebrows look their best. Every time. My eyebrows are thick and have a crazy shape, that she manages to figure out how to handle. I trust no one else with my brows at this point. LOL. Plus, Tyra is very knowledgeable in all things makeup, skincare, and general questions in finding products in the store. I followed her from the Town & Country location. That's how much I appreciate her service! If you need a pro for your eyebrows, go see Tyra!! You won't regret it!! About this location: One of the bigger stores in Sacramento and have great lighting. The staff are usually friendly and helpful. The shelves stay well stocked, making it so easy to find what I need in one trip (compared to another location that seems to have near empty shelves every time I visit.... I shall leave that store nameless) This Ulta is located in the same parking lot as Target, Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, Panera Bread, and a bunch of other stores. It can get chaotic finding parking depending on what time of the day and what day you come to shop. But, you will find a spot. Be prepared to park in a further back spot (great for getting closer to my daily step goal!). Overall, I don't mind the drive to this location for all my beauty needs. read more

Ulta has a mix of drugstore makeup brands (NYX, Covergirl) to high end makeup including perfumes (Lancôme, Urban Decay), and same with cleanser/skincare/lotions (Neutrogena, Aveeno, La Roche Posay, Murad, Dermologicia ). They carry salon quality hair care products: shampoos, conditioners, and styling products (Sebastian, Paul Mitchell, Living Proof). Plus they have a hair salon with a full service menu. Benefit makeup counter has a brow bar. Dermologicia provides facial. Also they have a ginormous selection of hair dryers, hot irons, curling irons, and styling hair brushes priced from the affordable to the eye popping double take. To boot, these products are on display here so you can actually handle them. Love that concept. I tested a bunch of hairdryers, love the fact that they were actually powered on. Recently I had to replace a hairdryer, I settled on an Italian made hair dryer with a Ferrari designed engine here. No lie. I chose it because it was lightweight, powerful engine for quicker dry time, easy to grasp and good ratings based on online reviews. For higher price point items, keep an eye out for their 20% off coupon. I have been patronizing this place since they first opened. The staff has come and gone, but overall staff here are friendly and try their best to assist the customers. They shout out to greet you right away as you walk in. I have always been taken care of. I went in with a well known brand of an eye shadow that had been discontinued by the company, and the Ulta sales woman spent time trying to help me find something that would match the color. She walked me through the various brands, colors, finishes, until we found a good match. Crisis averted! I like that I can browse through the entire store, and I don't have sales associates asking me every two minutes if I need help, but at the same time, if I need help, its fairly easy to find someone to help me. The clerks are all knowledgable, and are happy to help find the answer if they don't know. You'll find that Ulta offers different promotions throughout the month, and often they are some of the coolest "gift items" that I have received. My latest being a lovely overnight bag, that is simply gorgeous. The sales associates have been gracious enough to even let me know what the promotions are, so I can take advantage of them if I desire to. Ulta also carries some fun goodies, like animal face masks, a huge variety in nail polishes, and even some really nice makeup brushes. You'll find some great deals, and its truly a place that you will find almost any beauty product that youre looking for. I've been going to Ulta for the past few years to have my hair colored. They have amazing hair products, the color lasts a long time. I love following it up with a "gloss". My only negative, don't get attached to a hair dresser. As many times as I have gone to Ulta for their terrific hair color, I've had new stylists. Ulta must be bad to work for or there is some other thing going on with hair dressers that they don't stay long at Ulta. But color and trim don't take a stylist with exceptional skills. For basic services Ulta is terrific and highly recommended. You will also need to search around using their website for available appointments. You certainly cannot walk in. Because stylists come and go, sometimes they just don't have a stylist to color hair. For example I've been going to Woodland the past year; the same lady did my hair 3 times in a row. I called last week and she was gone and they have zero people to work in the salon, so no appointments. What company runs a portion of their business like this? Very disappointing. I've probably said this numerous times before but I'm not a girly girl. I'm a girl, but I don't know how to do the whole makeup and do my hair routine. I'm a colored/flavored chapstick girl with a messy bun. That's my go to all day everyday. I'm surprised I get waxed and shave my legs and armpits with how ungirly girl I am. :) Anyway, I decided to come into the store because I had heard about a product that would assist with my strawberry legs. I've suffered from strawberry legs for so long (longer than I care to remember) that I was sick and tired of it and wanted to try this new product. I get to the store and search around to see if they have it in stock and to my surprise, they had most of the products. I was thrilled, overly thrilled, that I filled up my basket and went to the register and paid for my goods. I couldn't wait to try my products so I used them right when I got home and the next few days after. Well, to my dismay, I ended up being highly allergic to the products. I ended up with hives all over my legs. It was horrible. I read up on the return policy of the store and went back and return what I used and what I didn't use. I was within the return period and I got my money back. The workers asked why I was returning the products and I mentioned that I ended up with hives. I waited a few days to make sure it was the product and not just a fluke and sure enough it was the product. One of the workers, told me that it happened to her and another friend so she did the same thing and returned the products. Anyway, that same worker told me about another product that would be better suited to my skin especially since I have sensitive skin. The same return policy would apply since I was buying a new product and trying it to see if I was allergic to it. If I wasn't satisfied with it, I could always return it for a full refund as long as I was within the allotted days. The products here are amazing, when I'm not allergic to them and when they have them in stock. If you aren't sure of something, ask. The workers are more than willing to assist you. This place is more of hands off place, or at least that's the feeling I get whenever I walk in here, but if you need help, they will help you. They don't want to be following you everywhere and they don't want to take away from your shopping experience either. When I need girly products, which isn't often, I come in here. I only come to this location bc it's close to home & have only ever experienced your Store pick ups but that alone is such a crappy experience that I refuse to shop & look around. If I could give a zero I would! I understand that people steal however for this to happen at more than one Ulta location and at this particular Ulta days apart is ridiculous. Saturday a friend and I went to this location I had a pick up order and decided to look around first. We were followed literally by multiple workers around the entire store. To make sure I wasn't seeing thing I went to the back of the store and BAM here comes a worker circling. It didn't stop until my friend started to become vocal. Then there's tonight literally 30minutes ago I walk in wait at pickup the lady looks at me no "Hello" just turns back around. I decided to buy my perfume I've been wanting since she was occupied. As soon as I started walking toward fragrance the security guard starts walking toward me and one worker who was on the other side of the store comes rushing to ask "can I help you with something?" I said no thank you she ask 3 more times. People of color know the exact "Can I help you?" I'm talking about. I repeatedly said "No thank you." Then I went to register and the clerk insinuated I couldn't afford the perfume. The insult of it all. To make matters worse this is not the only location I've had issue with the Marconi Location is no angel. I've heard multiple people with stories. That resulted in me calling Corporate just to get no resolution and the manager I was complaining about calling me pretending to be a district manager.
