I stopped by here yesterday with my wife for some afternoon drinks. We were driving by Bath whenever I found out that they had a brewing company and so we decided to stop. The inside of the restaurant consists of a couple of food bars as well as a real bar that you can sit at. The lights all had Edison Bulbs in them, there was a living edge bookcase and the wall in front of the actual bar was made of exposed brick. Their kitchen was open and the day that we were there they had on the Women's World Cup game between Japan and the Netherlands. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I went with a flight here. At Bath Brewing you get 4 - 5 oz pours of your choice for $12. For my beers I chose the Sea Trail American Pale, Sweet Tart Kettle Sour, Traverse IPA and Upper Hell Gate Double IPA. First up was the Sea trail American pale which started off super clean before finishing with a nice and light lemony flavor which was really nice. Up second was the Sweet tart kettle sour which started off with a bit of tartness that continues to get stronger in the finish. Third was the Traverse IPA and as soon as I pulled it up to drink it I got a good bit of citrus on the nose. It started off with the bitterness from the hops which continues to the finish with a little citrus poking in as well. Last but not least was the Upper Hell Gate Double IPA which was a "juicy" beer with hops right from the start to the finish with a bit of the citrus coming through in the finish. Out of the bunch I think that I liked the Sea Trail American Pale the best which is unusual for me, but it was that good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I'd love to love Bath Brewing Company, but I was hard pressed to find many redeeming qualities in this place. Yes, it is a nice, clean, modern-industrial brewery scene and I'm sure their selection of local beers is impressive. However, I was going there for a meal so I have to judge it as a restaurant, and for my dining experience, I give it 2 stars. It was a regular Wednesday in June and it was not very busy in the restaurant during the lunch hour. Our appetizer of Buffalo wings was good, if overpriced. However, after receiving our app it took way too long to get our main courses, considering how slow it was in there. Then we were informed that they were out of fish and chips, which one of the members of our party had ordered. Out of fish and chips? In a restaurant on the coast of Maine? My sister's French Dip sandwich came in a hotdog bun but was advertised as coming in a baguette. Her fiancé's barbecue burger (a disappointing substitute for the fish and chips) was well-done despite being ordered as medium, and was underwhelming at best. I ordered the Mac and cheese and can honestly say it is some of the worst Mac and cheese I've ever had... and it was barely even warm. It was slathered in light yellow cheese and sitting in a "broth" of watery cheese sauce. This place has so much potential, but the food needs some serious help!! My family and I had dinner here last night and they've recently implemented a new "service model" and it was honestly terrible. we had to wait in line to order at the bar then walk our drinks up with us to the table then we waited an extended period of time for our food, the appetizer came out with the entree and other than 1 poor server upstairs who was basically just bussing tables we had to keep going downstairs for anything we needed. then after all that we had to wait in line again to pay before we left at the bar again. I don't know why they've made these changes but we left frustrated and won't be returning, it's disappointing as a local but it feels they're alienating families w/younger kids and any people with mobile challenges. on top of all that my burger was the wrong temperature. please do better by your customers Bath brewing this gimmick is terrible! read more

The beer was good, I can say that much but the service was minimal at best, like we were an inconvenience. We just moved to Maine to be apart of a new Navy ship bring built in Bath and while checking out the shipyard, we decided to drive down Old Bath Main street and found this gem in one of the awesome old buildings. We were greeted immediately and asked if we wanted to sit downstairs or upstairs. We chose upstairs. The establishment is beautiful and the walls going up the stairs are lined with nautical art for sale. While our waitress was pretty slammed for the rush hour, she never once left us hanging and made sure our drinks were filled and our food was great. Speaking of food, one if the best burgers we've ever had and the shoe string fries were made with the perfect crisp. Seriously amazing and we can't wait to go back. If you find yourself in Bath or live here and have yet to try this great place, you are really missing out and I highly recommend that you do. read more

We have been to the BBC a few times and the food is consistently good. Not the most amazing or inventive and sometimes they are "out" of things on the menu - but still, we go back every so often. We have been curiously waiting to see what was going to open.. We went for a nice casual Saturday evening dinner here at Bath Brewing.. the downstairs has a bar and some seating, which is busy. The hostess quickly found seating for the two of us upstairs. We started with the grilled shrimp skewers and two pulled pork sliders. The shrimp skewers came with a homemade seafood cocktail sauce, which had a hint of horseradish. The pork sliders came with a nice side of Au Jus which made them juicy and tasty. For our entree, we select a Crsipy Cod Cake and and order of Fish and Handcut fries. The crispy Cod Cake was accompanied with this amazing cole slaw.. like "slap your Mama" good! Fish and Handcut fries was a generous fresh piece of lightly battered fish and those fries.. so damn good! I normally don't like tartar sauce, bupolished it off. We finished dinner with the flourless chocolate torte, which often is dry and dense, this was actually very light and served with fresh whipped cream and drizzled with caramel.. simply delicious. So surprised that this little Gem is tucked way up here in Bath Maine.. certainly will return when I am back up! read more

We stopped here for lunch this last week and loved the cool vibe and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food experience did not match what we were expecting. I had the Bacon Ramen and it was a major disappointment. The broth tasted burnt and there seemed to be no salt at all. I've had plenty of ramens before and the whole dish tasted off and the flavors totally unfamiliar for an Asian style dish. My husband had the Sticky Chicken Sliders and they were ok but lackluster. My son enjoyed his child's burger and chocolate chip cookies and the fries were good. Absolutely terrible experience. Went in for lunch with family and they weren't that busy. Filled up a little as we were there and we slowly watch everyone else get their food. They literally forgot about us. We weren't the only ones either. Family with kids next to us took 20 minutes to get water order. Not apologetic. No comp on anything. Bath Brewing Co.  Located in downtown Bath, Maine with a majestic view over the Kennebec River from the patio (fun fact: Benedict Arnold sailed up those waters!) BBC defines pub fare. It serves as a dynamic solution to so many situations and quite eloquently I must add (family dinner, date night, and a night out with friends. They somehow find the perfect balance for all!)  The beer selection is fantastic regardless if you are an IPA connoisseur or an average joe (like myself). Regardless, the two I'd suggest are the Long Reach Lager and the New England Style IPA.  Now that you are done the first glance of the menu, let me suggest some items on the menu that are not just VPB worthy (value per bite), but some of the best pub fare I've experienced. This is the restaurant you really want to see make it, however, sadly Bath Brewing Company seems to be going the other way. Blame it on whatever you want, worker shortage, pandemic, poor management, something is definitely wrong here. The wife and I loved this place when it opened. They had, and I say "had" a great little menu, now it's a very very little menu. I have been wanting to go back there for a few weeks now and we finally went in last night. We had a party of four. We were asked if we wanted to set at the skinny 2 ft. wide bar section in the middle, great for drinking a flight with a friend, not so great if you want to order food for four, I will chock that up to the host's inexperience. We really prefer sitting upstairs, really nice up there, however a small table became available down so we took it. To begin with I used to brew beer and followed all of the craft brewers around Maine and I have to tell you, I'm not a big fan of their beer here, really no lighter option for us older gents that want to take it easy on the stomach for the night, however the food was always really good. The menu was a stripped down version of the older menu, with options taken away that we used to love (Gourmet Grill Cheese!!!). The Brewers Burger is still on the menu and it is one of the better burgers around. If you like Salmon for seafood, you are in! That seems to be the catch of the day, everyday! Beer Cheese served with apps has no flavor, not sure what happened there. It's not covid, because I can taste everything else. Our waitress was nice and brought us just about everything we asked for sans water or return trips to see if we were doing ok. We tend to over tip now due to the shortage of workers and low volume of customers. The service was good last night, not great. There was a certain lack of care whether you were eating in their restaurant or not. That's about it. I really think this place could be better managed, it has so much potential. I really don't want to see another restaurant close in Bath. Please get it together Bath Brewing Company! We will return because we really like this restaurant a lot and want to see it do well. read more

Recently stopped at the Beer Garden at Bath Heritage and tried their beer for the first time! Oh my! It's wonderful. Had 2 lagers with friends and we immediately headed up the road to your restaurant. Had another amazing beer (can't remember which one!) and a grilled cheese. Can we talk about heaven?! It was perfectly grilled with a good amount of cheese, but not too much! Whoever thought of sticking bacon on that sandwich - give them a raise! I can't wait to come back and have another. And the French fries. I'm annoyingly picky about my Fries. I only like shoestring. Much to my surprise, they had the most perfectly Cooked and seasoned fries!! Absolutely disappointed. I ordered a steak dish with broccoli and scalloped potatoes. The steak was pretty good but the scalloped potatoes were completely over cooked and the broccoli was completely undercooked, which wouldn't have been a big deal if there wasn't just one other family in the entire restaurant.. We really like this place, but our last visit was extremely disappointment. While we returned for their haddock cakes (delicious as usual), the rest of our group also ordered fish and chips and chicken sandwiches. The chicken was extremely dry and chewy and I don't even want to start on the fish and chips. The portion was micro to say the least. And for the price, we should have received more than 1 tiny nugget of fish. We were extremely disappointed and for two grown men to get these same portions was sad, very sad. When we brought it up to the server, she asked the kitchen to put more fish on which was kind of her. Well, they only brought out one more small haddock nugget to be split between the two men. Bath Brewing needs to get on the same page as other pubs and serve a normal amount of fish so people don't leave there starving and disappointed. Bath Brewing Co. is a nice cozy bar restaurant with two levels and outside dinning. Upper level overview looks the waterfront park.
