I am always happy when we find out that a brewery is dog friendly. They were happy to welcome us with our two pups as long as we signed a waiver. They also screened dogs that they allowed in. I really appreciate both of these things. We have been to so many pet friendly restaurants in which dogs who had no business being there, were there causing disruption and antagonizing people and other dogs. The beer was excellent. We ended up buying a 4 pack to bring back home to NY with us. All of the food we ordered was well received. Service was quick and friendly! read more

Came here outside boothbay harbor on a Saturday afternoon. It is a brewery and RV park. A strange combo to be sure, but a fun place. It does not open until 3pm. We tried multiple 8 ounce pours until we settled on some 16 ounce beers. The staff were helpful in making our selections. We also the Margateria wood fired pizza. It was average. If it had been better I would give this place 5 stars. What is a great thing about this place is that you can bring your dog !!! And there were several different places to sit, each with its own energy. There was also live music- a single musician, but it added to the fun vibe. read more

Found this place in a google search and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was different but matched most that we have come across in Maine. Ordered at the bar, not at the table. Food was delivered fast. We had the pretzels with beer cheese, and oh my gosh, it was the best we have had since we were in Germany. We then ordered Sweet Savory and Meat Lovers pizza. Both were perfect. We left full and happy. Service was friendly and food arrived fast. We don't drink so I can't speak to the alcohol, we just went for the pizza. read more

Thirsty Botanist is my favorite beer. I couldn't miss the opportunity to visit its source. Had it not been raining this weekend, sitting outside would have been amazing. That said, the inside has a really cool vibe too. Dark tavern, lots of cozy spaces. Only grabbed a beer on our way to Wiscasset but looked at the menu. We had a lot of fun here on a Wednesday evening. Tip: you open your tab and can get beer to go at the main window. Then you pick up your draft beer around the corner at the pickup and reorder window. You order all food and refills at that window as well. When we got there they were only a few people there, but by the end of the night the place was packed. The bartenders were working really hard to get beers out and keep the line moving but there was often a few minute wait to grab a refill. I tried about 6-7 different beers on the menu and the best is the staple, Thirsty Botanist. There is an indoor area and an outdoor area which are completely separate. I highly recommend the outdoor area as the inside is more of a dark pub feel. Their small pours are pricey at $6-7 for 8oz. but they don't do flights so that was the only option until having a pint. I'd recommend going for the pints, double the beer for about $2 more. Glad we got to check it out. Food looked good but we didn't eat here. read more

Beer was good. Food was good. Atmosphere was good. But damn, $18 for a cheeseburger that you have to then pay $9 for a side of fries? Add bacon to it and you have yourself a $30 average burger and fries. Prices are crazy places but this was one of the wild ones I've seen lately. I'll stick to a couple beers next time. Also, had to bus our own table. I'd give it four stars if it wasn't for the price and cleaning up our own table. read more

We had a wonderful visit. The brewery makes delicious beer! You have to try the Oyster Stout, its incredible! The rv park is well run and very accommodating. The bathroom facility is cozy and clean and it provides a coin washer and dryer. We also loved its location. Outstanding beer and food. Pretzel bites were excellent....I think they have a dab of rosemary on them. Delicious! Ken Brown ale was excellent as was my wife's lighter beer ( can't recall the name ). Pizza was excellent as was the burger. Cool thing they do...they burn their logo in the bun top. Very nice staff. People were very nice we met. There's a covered area outside to eat as we had a bit of rain on us. Just an overall excellent place to eat and drink. A little bit of a drive from "downtown" Boothbay (~2 miles), but well worth it. A 5 star, for sure. Cool poster, too, in the men's room. read more

We haven't stopped here for 2-3 years and were surprised how much has changed - attached RV park and more space to eat and drink. But what hasn't changed is great beer and great service. Didn't try the food cause we had eaten in Newcastle, about 20 mins away, but this is a stop we had to make. Thirsty Botanist is one of my fave beers and I had it originally here, so it was a pilgrimage of sorts. Luckily, Thirsty Botanist is now served alongside other craft brews at many good restaurants and bars in the state, but having it at the brewery is special. read more

I wrote a review about a year ago and we liked this place so much we ate here twice. This year it was different. The prices are ultra-high (as with many brew pubs). It was very crowded, especially for mid-week and I don't recall if the ordering process has changed but I recall ordering at the bar one time and at the outdoor cabin once. This year all orders were outside and you had to have a table name before ordering;this we did not recall from last year. We could order drinks without a table but not food. The real issue was the wait for food. There were two people in the kitchen and they could not keep up with the orders. We waited over an hour for our food after ordering. We already had wasted time with the "new" ordering process and were getting ready to leave if the food did not come out less than five minutes, but it all of a sudden showed up. While we were waiting someone came in and asked how long it takes to get food as they were waiting over an hour for theirs. The guest said he didn't see any of his orders being worked on, so he told the crew to forget it and they were going outside to ask for their money back. The waitress looked upset (I felt bad for her as she was running herself ragged) but the crew didn't seem at all upset. I don't blame the patron as we were getting ready to leave too; I mean, we ordered a flatbread and salad - how hard is that and take! I don't know what is going on and do not know if they have overextended themselves or can't get workers. So disappointed especially after recommending this place t all our friends who were visiting the area. read more

We came here after visiting the Coastal Botanical Garden and it was great! Service, beer, food and environment were perfect for a chill hangout with friends. Plenty of outdoor seating and they even had a little fire burning which was nice because it was a little chilly. I tried a sour and it was nice and fruity. They have wood fired pizza with very unique toppings. We didn't try anything too exotic and it was tasty. Fries were really good! Super crispy and hot. Their special sauces were priced kinda steep for the small amount you get. Overall great chill spot with good beers and snacks. read more

I absolutely loved there Trash Can Nachos they were presented so nicely and the pulled pork was just out of this world amazing. The one downside is that the time it took to get drinks was a million times slower than the time to get food. The food was done in about 10 minutes from ordering to eating it, but on the other hand the drinks took ten minutes just to place the order. It took another couple minutes to get the drinks. The location and activity was amazing and the staff were nice they only bothered to give you the food and there was live music playing. Overall 4 stars read more

Our first time here. Ambiance is cozy inside. It would be great on a night that was cold enough to have the fireplace going. Take note of the speakeasy door that leads to an upstairs bar and eating area. Very cool. Even better -- no kids allowed upstairs! Service is a bit different here than many people will expect. Upon entry, you grab menus and find a seat. When you're ready to order, you go to the bar to open a tab with your credit card and order everything at the bar. Then you sit down and they bring the food to your table. Other than them bringing you your food, there does not appear to be any table service. If you want to order anything else or need a drink refill, you go back to the bar. When it's time to cash out, yep... at the bar. I don't know if this is something they instituted as a way to deal with staffing shortages, or what... I guess it works fine. Utensils. I know everyone is trying to be "green" these days and do their part, but can we please have some utensils that work? The fork and knife are disposable, made of wood, and look and function like an elementary school project. The fork also imparted the familiar flavor of popsicle stick with every bite. That's not doing the food any justice. OK. On to the food... We tried the Meat Lover's pizza, the Freedom pizza, and the chocolate lava cake this evening. The only thing standing in the way of greatness for the pizzas is the flavorless pizza dough. The dough reminded me of Carr's Table Water crackers - void of flavor and a little bit dry. The quality of the toppings on the pizzas was outstanding. They hit a triple, but not a home run. The flourless chocolate lava cake was also good but not spectacular. It didn't have enough melted chocolate center and the cake part was too dry tasting, even for a flourless cake. To be fair, I will say my wife liked it better than I did. We did not try any of their beers, which is one of the things they are apparently known for -- as evidenced by the huge brewery on site. If you're in the Boothbay Harbor region and want pizza, then this is a good option. If you want Pizza, Craft Beer, and Wings then this is definitely going to be your spot! read more

Outstanding beer and food! If you're visiting Boothbay or live near here, this is place is a must for any craft brew lover. The wings are fire roasted and delicious. Don't bother going into downtown. This place is the bomb! What a cool place!! They have so many craft beers that it's impossible to pick a favorite. If I had to choose a favorite I would choose the staff!! So gracious in receiving us and just the nicest people at every turn. They have a wonderful outdoor space with shaded tables to sit and enjoy a meal or drink. The smoky flavors of the food really stand out!! A terrific place for beer lovers and non beer lovers. We originally came to charge our EV and man am I happy we picked this spot. 6 stars out of 5!!! I stopped by here yesterday with my wife for some early afternoon drinks. We were going to be in Boothbay for the afternoon and so I was excited whenever I found out that there was a brewery there. The inside of this place is fairly large but also sort of dark with lots of wood colors around. There was some dining areas as well as a living edge bar which our bartender informed us was made from a tree from the property of Allagash brewing. She also told us that Dogfishhead and Allagash helped the owner in different ways when he was setting up and pointed out their names are on different beams. The bar chairs are massive, heavy and high backed and made from old fence posts. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to order a flight here. At Boothbay Craft Brewery you can choose between a 4 beer flight or a 6 beer flight and I went with the 6 beer flight. I started off by trying the Silly Buoys (Maine Summer Juicy IPA) which had a nice and citrusy nose and a bit of controlled bitterness at the beginning with that citrus joining at the end. Up second was the 10 Lewis (Session IPA) which had a smooth start with a mild hoppy finish and some floral notes in there as well. Third was the Ken (Brown Ale) which had a smooth and caramelly flavor to it right from the start through the finish. It was a very nice and smooth beer. Fourth was the Black rocks (carbonated stout) which started with a little sweetness before finishing with some harshness and at the very very end, a little bit of the roasted malts. Fifth was the Thirsty Botanist (Juicy Maine IPA) and this was a juicy IPA for sure with big, bright and bold citrus flavors right from the start with a good flavor of hops too, but not too much. Last but not least was the SweetWoods Barrel Aged Maple Dopplebock. At 10% I expected some heat off of this beer but there was none. There's some sweetness from the start that is only amplified once the maple kicks in. Our bartender noted that she hoped we liked bourbon but honestly, I didn't get it at all at first as the maple sort of overwhelmed everything. After getting through a few sips of it though, My palate acclimated to the maple and I could taste the oakiness from the barrel aging. With that being said, I could see this beer being quite dangerous since the alcohol is hidden so well between the maple and oak. Out of the bunch I think that the Thirsty Botanist was my favorite beer with the Ken coming in a close second. The bottom line for me is that I would head back to Boothbay Craft Brewing again in the future. I thought that the space was very unique and very awesome and that their beer was good as well. read more

Just returned from a week-long trip to Boothbay and decided to come here for dinner and drinks on our final night in town. It was about 8 degrees that night so we were happy to be seated right next to the fireplace. We enjoyed the cozy interior and the staff made us feel welcome. The food was outstanding. We ordered both specials - the Friday night ribs and steak tips. The ribs fell off the bone, and the steak tips earned rave reviews as well. We sampled a few of the beers and bought a four pack for the road. This was a great find and we'll certainly be back next time we're in town. read more

We spent our summer vacation in Maine and my husband is a craft beer lover. This checked both boxes perfectly. There were many choices for him for a beverage and the service was efficient and friendly. If you're into craft beer that should be enough reason to stop and try this place but we also ordered our dinner. Our server was awesome answering questions and talking us through various options. They profess to be a complete farm to table experience and that must be true. Definitely a scratch kitchen as the care taken with the various dishes was evident. read more
