UPDATE: Shortly after I posted this review I was contacted by Justin (general manager). We discussed my concerns and the next day he came out to meet in person. He addressed the issues I had, explained more thoroughly where there had been miscommunications and offered to make some corrections. This was my second bath to shower conversion, the first one was done about 10 years ago by a competitor. After getting quotes from both companies I ended up going with Bath Fitters. They both have a comparable product and BF's price was much lower. Unfortunately I got exactly what I paid for - horrible customer service and a sub par product. There were also numerous misrepresentations by the salesperson (who shortly after I contracted with them was "no longer with the company"). After the installation I called the office to discuss the items that were not done as I was told they would be by that salesperson and later confirmed by their office after her departure. I was simply told that was their "standard" installation even though I again explained that what I ended up with was not what I was told I would be getting and was not indicated on the contract. I've made a formal complaint with their corporate office although I'm not banking on any response. read more

I would not recommend BATH FITTER to anyone. Very POOR customer service! They didn't show up on my appointment and didn't call to let me know that they could not make it. No apology given neither. Then, they messed up on re-scheduling appointment for me. It is clearly that they do not want to have customers. read more

just had a bath and another shower redone. Very happy with the salesperson who was very knowledgeable. Also happy with the many options available. The install was fantastic. Two showed to install, Kyle & Mike. Arrived on the dot, were very clean doing the work with covering floor, etc. They finished at the time the estimated. Both baths were on the 2nd floor and these guys did not walk up/down the stairs but were nearly running everywhere they went. Highly recommend. read more

1/25/2020: Updating my original review, to add that they have finally issued a check as promised. The bath appears to be holding up well so far, and it is much nicer than what I had. The surround stays clean quite easily, the shelves and grab bars are sturdy. It was a bit of a trial to get everything completed, but that seems to be the case with most contractors these days. Be careful doing business with this company. They don't care about their customers. They don't stand by their product and work. We had our shower installed last Wednesday, the hot and cold valves were supposed to be corrected but we're not. Was told by the technician James that Shelley the office manager will call us to schedule a repair but we have not received any calls from her. My husband and I call the office numerous times and left messages for Shelley. We are being ignored by the company. Horrible business! This is our first time going with Bath fitter and we made a huge mistakes. Be careful everyone! read more

Jim Stallings arrived on time and walked us through all the possible configurations for a new bath/shower configuration. He was patient and courteous in answering our questions, and we placed the order with him that day. Aaron arrived on time to do the installation. He had to deal with old plumbing and was able to do the install quickly and efficiently. Altogether, the whole operation was pleasant and professional. I was extremely excited to have this installed in my rental property. I had a few issues with the install but recently found there was a problem with the bar that holds the adjustable shower head. It was a bad install and has rusted and broken off. My sales rep said that it should be fixed by their repair person but Bathfitter has taken 4 months to decide they don't need to help me. I don't get calls back because someone at Bathfitter wrote the number down incorrectly. It has been a horrible situation. Now my father is living in the property and is dealing with a shower head bar that doesn't stay on the wall. It has rusted and pulled away. With all the money we have spent on this install, I expected better support. They only "guarantee" the acrylic. Who knows if something happens during a repair by a plumber. I strongly recommend to look elsewhere for a different product and install. They don't stand by all of their work. Also they use different contractors to do the installs so there is no consistency in the work. Very frustrating. read more

She took the time to allow us to select what we wanted and provided some personal tips along the way. The next great experience was our installer. He arrived early and was courteous, friendly and FAST. He was very considerate and clean and worked hard and accomplished the work very quickly and did a fantastic job. We had our old tiled shower replaced with a white subway-tile look acrylic yesterday. We love tile, but any tiled shower will eventually have issues with crumbling grout. We wanted something that would last for years and be very low-maintenance. It was a big project--the installer arrived at about 8:30 and didn't leave until the job was perfectly completed at about 6:30pm. We had the shower tiled all the way to the crown molding at the ceiling. We also have a window on the shower wall, which involved cutting the acrylic and installing new molding. The installer also replaced our old plumbing with new copper pipes. The new fixtures are beautiful! From our initial visit to the showroom, where Shelly showed us around, to the estimate from the salesperson and then the installation, Bath Fitter has been excellent. They answered all our questions and were never pushy. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We first contacted Bath Fitter at the California State Fair. We made an appointment and a rep came to our house and explained we would have to hire a separate contractor to remove our existing tub and walls which was a surprise. We signed the contract and put down a $900 deposit. We used Home Advisor to locate someone to remove the tub; one guy replied but did not show up. We were unable to find anyone who was willing to remove the tub and walls. Meanwhile the 3 day cooling off period for signing the contract had passed so we decided to eat the $900 and go with another company who did the work and we were happy with it. Now Bath Fitters wants us to pay them an additional $1900 as a "restocking fee"! For what?? They are threatening to put a lien on our house and never did a lick of work here. We are leaving the country for 4 months in January and are afraid of what might happen while we are gone. read more

I wanted to echo some other people's comment about Barbara as she was wonderful. Greg is also very helpful. My 3 stars is based on the install crew. The work was good but attitude for one them was less than pleasant. One of the shelves that were order was not on hand to install, clean up was not there in 2 of three bathrooms. They failed to put back my water hose and clean up scraps. The installer in the master bath knocked my travertine tile on the opposite wall because he banged the wall to hard. It appears that paying over $15000 for three bathrooms you would get better service. read more

From start to finish, I couldn't be happier. Salesman explained the process in detail, applied all the discounts available, and customized it to my needs. After it arrived from the manufacturer it was installed in less than a day using the new fixtures I bought and the finished product was perfect. I couldn't be more unsatisfied!! The lack of correspondence was the first to alert me I had made a bad decision. When my bathrooms were installed, no one called to see if I was happy, which I was NOT!! But I was charged in full. When I called to list my concerns, with photos, no one returned my call. It wasn't until I mentioned calling BBB that anyone responded. When they came out and I pointed out the problems: cracked baseboard, gashes in the door frame from install, pieces of my ceiling fell off, etc. I was told, "oh well, there is nothing we can do" I pointed out a panel that was not the same color and was told it was "just the lighting". No, it wasn't. These are not the only problems. The product itself is cheap, cheap, cheap plastic. I would NEVER recommend Bathfitter for ANY work. They sell, take your money and go!! No customer service. Avoid them at all costs!!! Beware. And yes, I will be calling BBB. read more

Great service very helpfully during the entire process. They even offered to help me fill out the VA paperwork. Guy person who showed up to install was very polite and answered all my questions. He worked over eight hrs both days. My shower is a walk in shower that spans the length of my entire bathroom so to took longer to install something I was told when they came to do the inspection. Will use them again when it is time to redo an other bath. read more

salesperson came to house and we agreed on work and price. what the salesperson agrees with you and what the construction worker will do at time of installation is two different things. also, its a small thing but within the circumstances i was in, they promised one day shower installed, but they don't say its that its another 24hr before you use it. Bath fitter is not cheap but I thought I paid for the convenience of having it done within 1 day. the extra day the salesperson doesn't mention. if you will use bathfitter make sure you ask the minor questions first. We saw their display at a home show in Del Mar and had them come out to provide an estimate for our bathroom remodel. The rep was pretty nice but but they have a very limited selection of colors and the material was very thin and cheap. The prices were a little bit lower than some of the others we talked to but really not very much when you consider that the material is so thin that they roll it up to bring it into the house. They made a big deal about it being one piece without seams but there actually are a bunch of seams, just not in the back corners. They wanted to charge over $8000 for a pretty basic shower which we thought was expensive for the quality of the material. After deciding not to hire them we read their reviews and also met another person who did hire them and regretted it so we are glad that we didn't go through with it. read more

I would not use this company again if the product was free. The original installer did a terrible job and we stop the installation. It too a month to come an agreement which was a $750 refund and live with the crappy installation. If you are interested in this product go look at their show room and you will see the level of workmanship they do or don't do. In addition to the poor workmanship their customer service is a joke!! We love our new shower, installed by Bathfitter. After getting pricey quotes for tile and a new shower enclosure, I gave bathfitter a try and they allowed me to design a completely new enclosure, enlarging our shower footprint and adding a 2nd shower head with beautiful fixtures. We went with a floating glass wall enclosure and it looks so beautiful for a fraction of the cost. I definitely recommend this company, professional all the way. read more

We had two bath tubs and shower enclosures installed by Bathfitter. One bathroom went fairly smoothly regarding the install, but the other had a few errors along the way which caused delay and time at home waiting for the service people. The manager of ithe installation dept, Chris, was not very responsive and slow to respond to emails. After finding a few items that were not completed on our second install, we called to have the issues corrected. An installation technician named Kyle Bradley came out to perform the corrections. Kyle arrived on time and had a very good attitude when I showed him the issues at hand. He additionally found a few other items, which I was unaware of, which he also corrected. We appreciate Kyle being proactive and he did very precise and neat work. We highly recommend Kyle Bradley to perform your work by Bathfitter. In the future, we will be requesting Kyle by name for all of our work. read more

First of all, I agree Shelley, Lila and Greg at the office are super. I just had a bath redo and I love it. Erin, the installer, was a hard worker and never stopped the whole day to get my job done. His work is excellent! One word of caution, I used my own Jacuzzi faucet and valve, etc. (made in California) and did not know that it had a temp stop that is not adjustable....so when Erin installed it, little did we know the water would not be hot enough. Ya gotta love California on putting a limit on MY hot water. Bathfitters wanted me to use a Moen one because I found our later, it has an adjustable temp stop. Any how, Tony had to come out at 7PM at night after a long day at work to make an adjustment by brilliantly modifying the temp stop. So in short use their Moen product. Every time I get in the shower.....the difference is just unbelievable. After living with my fiberglass surround for 15 years...WHY DID I NOT GET THIS DONE SOONER!!!!! read more

We had nothing but positive experiences with Bath Fitters. I am really late in doing this review so I apologize to all the Yelpers out there. We decided to go the Bath Fitters route instead of a complete demo and rebuild to reduce the time and mess. Had one of those old oval bath tubs in our master bathroom and wanted to do a tub to shower conversion. The estimate experience was very pleasant. No hard sell, just plain costs for the things we asked for. They showed up on the date and time they said to do the install, which was very pleasing. There was a little demo required, because they had to take the tub out and the wood structure that was built to hold it. They dropped in the new shower pan, took out the old plumbing in the wall and installed new piping, shower controls and shower head. We had them put the shower head up higher as they typically are too low. We went with brushed nickel and also had them install a safety bar that was brushed nickel. After a couple of days we decided that we didn't like the brushed nickel hand rail and called to see if they could swap out for a white one, the same color as the walls. We were willing to pay for this visit, but we didn't have to. They came and swapped it out at no charge. Months later we thought we were having an issue with the hot/cold water valve. When you turned it back from hot to cold there was a loud clunk, but the water never got cold again. They came out and we couldn't duplicate the problem. The service rep said, "Let's just replace the valve". He did and it now works great. So, I have no issues with Bath Fitters. Totally satisfied, love our new tub to shower conversion and would do it again. read more

We just had a new tub and shower installed by Bath Fitter last week and we could not be happier with how it turned out. The quality and the look of the bath is absolutely incredible. It has given the bathroom a much more contemporary and stylish look which is not only great for us to enjoy, but also increasing the value of our home. After doing a bit of research and getting a few different quotes for our shower remodel we contacted Bath Fitters. One of the reasons we contacted Bath Fitters is because we were interested in installing a shower and surround with as few seams as possible, I'd originally wanted a one piece shower enclosure but there was no way that it would fit in to our bathroom. Our salesperson Barbara arrived at her scheduled time and was very knowledgeable and professional. I let our salesperson know that I would do the 'rip out' of the existing shower pan and glass doors to help keep the cost down. We discussed all of our different options and Barbara came up with a quote. My wife and I summarily removed some of the upgrade options to reduce the quoted price . Although we were not totally committed to purchasing through Bath Fitters we gave the salesperson our credit card number just in case we were going to go with them and make it easier on Barbara so she wouldn't have to make two trips if we decided to proceed. The following day my wife contacted Barbara to further negotiate the bottom line...Barbara said that she would have to talk to her boss to see if she could reduce the price further and that she would get back to us. Barbara called us back shortly to let us know that that they could reduce the price but not as much as we'd asked for. We agreed and asked Barbara to proceed with the contract and to send us a copy of the contact. Barbara said she would send a hard copy via mail and send us an emailed photocopy as well. Two days went by and although we had been billed for the deposit portion we still had not received our emailed contract, or the hard copy. We called and spoke to Barbara and she said that she would send the emailed contract right away. This was on a Saturday. On the following Tuesday we received a phone call from the Bath Fitters office looking for a credit card number so they could bill us for the deposit. I informed her that we had already been billed for the deposit amount and that we were waiting on the 'revised' contract. She apologized for the confusion and said she would get back to me. She called back in a few minutes saying that she could not get a hold of Barbara for answers. Barbara called us the next day to apologize for the confusion....at which point we informed her that we still had not received the emailed revision.We had received the hard copy though. Despite several prior r requests, to this day we haven't received the emailed copy. We were informed that our install was going to be the first week in November...about a month a way. We got a phone call in late October (early) to set our appointment. On the morning of our install appointment Isaac showed up on time, ready to install. To make a long story short, Isaac did a fantastic job on the install. Despite a few minor set backs he completed the job that day. His workmanship and professional were impressive. His knowledge of the product was complete and he was able to answer my (many) questions along the way. We were very happy with the install and are impressed with the product as a whole. The finished job is absolutely beautiful...very clean and (almost) seamless. In addition to the aforementioned problems with the contract, billing and communication at the beginning of our Bath Fitter experience, it would be of great benefit to be able to see pricing as you make your selection. There should be a brochure with prices of the various products/installations. I understand that every job is different, but there should be a scale of various prices/costs. Although I did the rip out of the exist doors and shower pan, it is hard to know if we really did get a discount for my labors. Essentially, a little more transparency when it comes to pricing. Ultimately, we are very happy with the installation and the finished product. We are planning to do my sons bathroom in the Spring, and we will definitely suggest Bath Fitters to our friends. It really is a very nice product, we will update with any future information regarding our shower install. read more

I knew a bathtub/shower remodel would be a huge challenge. I was quoted by Home Depot and their quote was 3x higher than Bath Fitter. Bath Fitter sent a salesman over our house and he was so patient. He didn't pressure us on our decision making process. He gave us great suggestions. Bath Fitter also didn't pressure us on an appointment date to schedule the remodel. I took my time until I felt ready and comfortable. When the day came for the demolishing, I was nervous. I thought to myself at the time, "is this going to be so impossible that the installer will tell me during this anxious and nervous process?" The job took 1.5 days and he did finish earlier than expected. The finished bathroom looked so new it looked like the bathtub/shower of a 5 star hotel. I am beyond thrilled and I dreamed for a long time to take a soaking bath! I cannot say enough good review words to put my confidence in Bath Fitter and I'm glad they were able to finish my new bathtub/shower. My family and I love taking baths and showers in the new area! Thank you Bath Fitter for saving our tub/shower. I am no longer ashamed of my tub/shower. read more

From the day the estimator came to the end of the installation, the whole process went perfectly. A neighbor had her bathroom done, tub replaced with a tiled shower and it took weeks, so I didn't want to wait that long,. Bath FItter really does install in one day. The bathroom looks great, the installed arrived on time, cleaned up, protected my carpeting with heavy rubber runners, was courteous and answered all my questions. I can recommend them. read more

Do not use this company. We had a handicap accessible shower installed for my elderly MIL in 2015, rapidly because she was moving in with us after a serious injury. They came and did the work. Seemed fine. Then a flooding issue this January revealed the truth. Not only did the thing fall apart due to faulty caulking, upon inspection the framing underneath was rotted out (not from the flood, the other framing was fine) and the handicap hand rails were not attached to studs. If my MIL, who has since passed away, had had to use that handrail, she probably would have ended up on the ground with a broken hip. Oh, and in rerouting the water lines they almost completely cut through the corner wall stud. We had to have a custom metal bracket made the re-establish support for the roof. We called them initially for the flood, thinking it was just caulking. They came out once. Then when the depth of the problems surfaced, we have called, sent pictures, asked them to get this resolved. They are ignoring us. If I could give no stars I would. read more

After reading a few reviews on how affordable this service was (and specifically one review that mentioned a $2,000 price tag), we contacted Bath Fitter for a quote. A sales guy came out about 3 weeks ago. All we asked for was the BASIC surround and shower door for a shower-only replacement which is 56" long and 72" high. We already had fixtures and everything else. So, we were expecting a quote of about $2800 - $3400. After measuring, etc., he showed us a quote and said "I cannot leave this with you". The one-price quote was $6,000 ! If we signed the contract that day, we would get a 10% discount. There was no breakdown as to parts and labor. We were told the surround comes in one piece. Surrounds in Lowe's and Home Depot are around $300; the base is about $200; and a basic shower door is $350 - $450. Now, I understand they custom make these, and that the material is not your Home Depot / Lowes type of construction. So, we were trying to figure this out. We thought, giving the benefit of the doubt (going really high here) that the surround would be $1,000; base $400; and a shower door $600. Again, these were the only "parts" were required. So, with our 10% discount, the quote would be $5,400 - minus $2,000 for parts would leave $3,400 labor. If it takes a full 8-hour day, we would be paying $425/hour for labor. Hmmm - we really feel like we were being bamboozled! And, why did he not leave us the quote ??? read more
