If I were to do it over, I would not choose bath fitters. Our bathtub was replaced on January 27 & 28, 2025. The salesman told us the installer would work with us to decide if we should take the walls all the way to the ceiling. The installer took the walls all the way up without consultation. When looking at the shower or viewing it through the vanity mirror, it looks crooked. It looks like there is 12 inches of white above the shower on the left and only 8 on the right. The first day during demo, the bathroom countertop was not protected even while using a hammer to bust out the old tub. I found small chunks of the tub on the countertop and on the floor by the toilet after the job was complete. After the work was completed, there was a deepish gouge in the tub under the spout and on the floor by the drain. The gouge was consistent with a drill bit having been run on the surface. The shower leaked the first time we used it and left a puddle on the floor (See picture). The installer came back and 'rubbed' out the gouge and added more caulk. We considered having a custom tile shower installed, but just didn't want the expense, the hassle of everything torn up and decided to go with a quick turnaround company like Bath Fitter. We also looked at two other similar companies, but Bath Fitter had the best price and I did some research and discovered they've been around for over 35 years, have done millions of bathrooms, have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and lots of great reviews. If I could give bath fitter less than one star, I would. We got our bat fitter install complete in the summer of 2017. Since then we have had multiple problems. We have had to schedule repair service three times now since our install date. Long story short, we are constantly experiencing water filling up between the liner and our existing tub. This means the sealing in and around the liner is failing on a regular basis. We have even had water leak from the base on to our floor. This time the caulking is again failing and allowing water to again get between the liner and the tub creating a water pillow. Very unsafe to stand on. Bath fitter says they have a lifetime guarantee, well it needs it. Today a representative from bath fitter of Portland said we should be inspecting the caulk regularly to make sure there are no problems? In what world do they think it's ok to expect customers to perform their own repair guarantee?? When we purchased this product at no time did they say " by the way, keep an eye on our product and install because it fails regularly"!?! They have also made us wait several days before addressing and fixing the problem. At this point I'm afraid legal action will be in our future. I do not recommend bath fitter, the savings between them and a remodel with a traditional tub and tile is not worth the pain and frustration. read more

I have seen your other customers quote up to $2000.00 less and some up to $10000.00. Oh man! This place.... OK let's start, I wanted my bathroom done so I gave these guys a call, they sent someone to my house the very next day to give me a quote. The person that showed up was really friendly and seemed to be really helpful, I didn't realize he wasn't just being helpful to me he was helping himself to the money on my wallet. After I chose what features I wanted on my bathroom I found it odd that there were no set prices on any of the items I was being shown so when the final quote was given to me I had no idea how much I was paying for what! But I ended up saying OK. About 2 days later I got a call from their office to make an appointment to install with them, they told me I didn't have to be home and that everything would be handled. I left cameras on at my house and had them come in and do the job when I came home... Surprise! the bathroom looked awesome BUT they installed the wrong features, totally not what I had selected! The height of the wall was wrong, the shower head was wrong, and oh yeah... my shower curtain was non-existent. So I gave them a call and they apologized about the "misunderstanding", they told me they could change the showerhead and gave me a new quote, this quote was $500+ more! I did some math and determined that the showerhead they had sold me was over $400 dollars! WHAT THE HELL!? That same fixtured was sold at the store for about $150! There is no way a plumber charges that much money to install a fixture. I ended up keeping what they had installed because there was no way I was going to give these people more of my money. Yeah, the bathroom looks good but damn they are expensive and they don't know how to communicate with each other also shady selling practices. If you hire them to make sure you ask HOW MUCH IS EACH ITEM you are selecting is and have a calculator/browser ready to check how much they are taking from you. read more

I had a salesman come out, give me quote and installed new shower. The installers were timely, efficent and knowledgeable. The scheduler however was horrible! Called to schedule appointment, received date for install. Same lady called me the Thursday before my Wednesday appointment to confirm. Took 2 days off work. Waited for installers for over an hour, called Bathfitters...apparently my file got "lost" and i in fact was not on schedule! The lady on the phone was rude and very condescending! My family was approached by salesperson "David" at the door back in November of 2017. After going over some options and costs, my father was given a price of $5500 but would receive a "discount" that would drop the price down to $5080. Everything was marked on the sales invoice and signatures were made. Fast forward to December and ironically the bath fitter didn't even end up fitting in our bath and shower. We were told we would have to wait another couple of weeks but we needed to get rolling on our renovations so we asked for a discount and modified what we received. But then it got better, the balance of amount owed was not matching what was originally agreed upon on the invoice that "David" had us sign in the beginning. We've reached out to the main office multiple times, been asked to provide them photos of the original invoice to no avail. Nothing has been changed on our balance to reflect what was originally agreed on. Contacted the salesperson "David" as well and he has gone mute. Bottom line, don't do business with these folk. I bought my Drop in tub and surround from them in 2008. It is still like new. The guarantee is first rate. I had to call after a few years to have the caulking re-done for me as it had aged. The other day I noticed it felt like a water bed tub when water got between the original tub (1940's cast iron) and the drop in.
