I loveeeeee gin and was super pumped to come here. My friends who didn't like gin still appreciated this place and their cocktails, and they received guidance from the waitress on what to order. I would've enjoyed this speakeasy a lot more on a chill weekday rather than a Friday night. My friends and I arrived around 10:30PM on a Friday, and we waited outside in line for approximately an hour. The smaller your group, the more likely you'll be admitted in. Our group had 4 people. 1-3 person groups were admitted before us. Don't try to sneak in because the bouncer will kick you out. Also saw some people get kicked out for being too rowdy, I think. Service: Once our group was admitted, we had to wait in a corner where a waitress took our orders. She was helpful and knowledgeable about gin. I asked for more floral gins and she listed out 5 to choose from. You can also order other liquors; they had Ardbec 10-year old whiskey Cocktail: I ordered the Fuzz Blossom and replaced the default gin base (forgot which one - it's their well gin) for the Mirabeau. I originally wanted the Herb & Garden Elderflower gin, but they were out :( Fuzz Blossom is subtly sweet and very floral. Ambiance: Once seating was available, we were shown in a brick room with leather couches and chairs and other Victorian-esque decor. We shared the room with other people. You don't need to talk to others, but since my group was feeling friendly as well as two other groups, we ended up intermingling with each other which was super fun! A cool speakeasy--the following reasons made it a speakeasy for me: the entrance is in a back alleyway where as a first timer you'll likely wonder if you're at the right spot, the inside lighting is dim, there are 3 levels to this place although the bottom floors are small, and they have a pretty great cocktail menu. We had a party of 4 and got there around 9pm on a Saturday and stood in line behind another group in front of us and got in after about a 15-20 minute wait. No reservation or password was required. I wasn't sure how the process of getting in would be since it varies for each speakeasy, but this one was a great one if you're looking for a spot you don't have to plan too much ahead of time for. We never got a chance to see the top level that has the bar since we were led to our table that was in a small room downstairs tucked away. Our table ordered varies drinks (multiple whiskey and gin drinks) and the only drink name I can remember was Death Star. Definitely a unique experience coming here to Bathtub Gin -- the entrance is literally located in an alley, so it took us a bit to find it (thankfully they do have a small plaque with their name on it, so you'll know it when you see it). No password or anything special to get in, just knocked to see if they had room inside. The inside is super super small with three levels (you enter at the middle of the stairs), so everyone is seated very close to each other. There was a "bouncer" or staff member standing at the door or sitting just inside when they are at capacity. The first time we visited, we had to wait outside for a good 30 minutes before another party left and we were allowed in (and they let us stand in a corner first before being seated at the bar). Simple and unique cocktails menu, though I imagine you can likely ask for something custom if you wanted as well. Lots of people both on weekend and weekday evenings, so its a popular spot. Tip well as the bartender was definitely busy the entire night. Worth a visit if you can find the door! read more

Bathtub Gin truly has speakeasy vibes -- it's situated in the back alleyway next to a parking lot. They've done a lot with the limited space that that they have. There's a small attic area with a full bar, almost no standing room. The basement is a little squished, but drinks are good enough so you won't notice it much. The servers are quite friendly. When we went, unfortunately there was a car doing burnouts in the back. The basement got really smoky and everyone cleared it. The staff were nice and allowed us to move tables / stand in a different room until the smoke cleared. Overall would come back to try other drinks! read more

One word to describe the vibe, service, servers and mixologist: AMAZING! To start off the process, the time it takes to enter even when there is a long line is less than 15 mins. tops. We went on a Friday evening and, though there were 4 parties ahead of us of various sizes, we were able to get in within 15 minutes. This place is 2 stories and the upstairs is quite cozy with a good selection of books. We got seats at the bar. Once we were seated, the mixologist did not wait a second and immediately asked for our order. He had a lot of patience in answering our questions about the different mock tails they offered and gave us suggestions based on what our taste it. My friend got the Meyer Enticer and I got the Hawaii Kai III. They both tasted exactly how their profiles were described in the menu. The most important thing to note about their drinks in general is, while you are sipping on them, you will not even notice there is any sort of alcohol in it because the subtle flavors (i.e., espresso, macadamia, mango, lime, etc.) are perfectly combined such that you can't taste the alcohol. Throughout the time we were at the bar, the servers and mixologist did an amazing job an ensuring our experience was seamless and we were enjoying our drinks. Cool speakeasy vibe in Belltown. The entrance is down a kinda sketchy looking alleyway, and there was a bit of a waitlist for us to get in. Luckily it's in a great location, and we just went to a different bar across the street to wait it out. We were seated downstairs in what used to be the old living room. The entire place used to be a house, and there are mini bathtub Easter eggs everywhere, including a giant full size one in the main room! It's split in two now, and you can sit in either half as a seat. The living room area is meant to be like one big family gathering I guess, because the bouncer made us talk to and get to know one another, as he said that upheld the spirit of the place. I think most of the groups in the room this time were pretty shy, so that didn't work out too well, but something to note for other introverts looking to get seated here! The drinks were fine but nothing memorable that another bar couldn't easily recreate. The ambience is definitely unique and the story behind the speakeasy is super cool. Pretty cool speakeasy in Belltown! Hard to find in the back alley...but there's usually a line so you know where the people are waiting to go in. Three stories inside with 3 different sitting rooms. Smaller venue for sure (like a speakeasy should be!!) so make sure to come with a smaller group. I would recommend no more than 2-3 people as the seating won't allow for any more. Mostly gin drinks as it's a gin bar, but they do have some other alcohol options as well. All cocktails are $15 which I enjoyed because I focused more on the ingredients vs the price! read more

We've heard so much about this notorious speakeasy we were anxious to try it and thought it would be well worth the 45 min wait on a cold winter night. After finally getting to the front, we'd had so much time in line that our party of two had turned into a party of 4 as we'd made fast friends with the couple behind us. We were seated at a little table inside and I can see why there is such a wait, the space.. Is.. Tiny! Talk about speakeasy, it's definitely a hole in wall as far as capacity. Our server was nice and helpful and the place had a cool vibe and fun cocktail list. My honest review is a bit closer to a 3.5 leaning 4 because maybe trying a few different cocktails or waiting a little less time in line would be the winning deal for us. As it was the drinks and vibe was not on our top list of best speakeasy's and definitely not worth the long wait again, but it's still a very solid location and fun to visit at least once. read more

Bathtub comes up in the list every time you look for a good Bar in Seattle and I had extremely high hopes from them .we lucked out this time as we impulsively walked-in and got a table as soon as we got there . On a previous occasion the wait times were so long that we had ended up leaving . True to the spirit of a speakeasy it is located in an alley across a parking lot and dumpsters. A very small sign is the only indication outside but its not very hard to find if you know what you are looking for . The space is small even though its across two floors but has an old world charm - minimalist décor ,dim lighting , exposed brick walls , lots of books , shelves brimming with beautiful bottles of various booze, and a few tables and chairs and couches . The cocktail menu surprisingly is limited - I say surprising because booze is the only thing they serve and I expected them to have a little more variety for craft cocktails .They do have an extensive Gin list and I can see a Gin lover really appreciating this place . The drinks came out fast and looked inviting . We had - Diamond Hands Star Gazer Fuzz Blossom JellyFish sting The drinks were well made and interesting .We decided to move on only after one round because we did not find much else on the menu we wanted to try , however our server did let us know that the bartenders are more than happy to whip up something based on our preferences . As we waited a few larger groups came in and seated on the same room. My companion was not a fan of his hoity toity drink. But he's easy. Vodka and soda or Jack n coke kind of guy. The appreciation of the fancy drinks does not exist. Now if you are an IPA drinker you will also enjoy this place. I'm not an IPA drinker or cocktails. But I found a great cider. We may have stayed longer but one of the gentleman in our area of one of those groups had their arm pits screaming at us. So we had to exit. This is a cute little speakeasy in Seattle downtown serving amazing Gin based cocktails. This bar is in the basement of a building and the entrance is from an alley. We stop by here pretty often and always love their cocktails. We ordered their Death Star (our fav from their current menu), to the moon, diamond hands and bang your drum. While all of them taste great, Death Star is our fav. Do not surprised by their wait times. We almost always have an hour long wait during peak hours. On our way out of a comedy show, we wanted to check out a speakeasy, so I did a quick google search and came across this one! And what a lucky happenstance, as we loved our time there! We first went to the front of the building (which is a hotel), where there was a sign to go through the back alleyway to get in. So we turned the corner and kept walking til we hit a little alley -- a trash truck literally came by to pick up trash while we were waiting in line! We were told 45 min wait when we first got there, as it was at capacity, but then we saw people walking out, so we decided to wait. After about 15 minutes, we were let in! The bar is in a basement area of a hotel, so we were led downstairs to a small, dimly lit room. Service was a little on the slow side. We waited about 10 minutes until our waitress came around to get our drink orders. There is a one-stall restroom downstairs. It's pretty tiny, but that's expected in a speakeasy-type bar. Very cozy atmosphere. I got the han bonita - reposado tequila, falernum, citron soju, pineapple syrup, lime, chinese 5-spice. My partner got the diamond hands - gin and kumquat. For my second round, I got the same drink but substituted with mezcal in place of tequila. Loved both drinks, but definitely enjoyed that smoky mezcal! We ran into another couple who also had attended the comedy show, so we had a grand time laughing about some of the jokes that Ronny Chieng made. You must wait outside the door in line to get in. There is maybe seating for 8-10 small parties total inside if I counted correctly. We waited about 20 minutes to get in. They did come outside to take our drink order and bring us drinks outside which was really cool and I especially loved that the server even came out to check how our drinks were after we got them outside. The ambiance inside is dark and music playing in the background but quiet enough that you can hold a conversation with the other people in your party.
