Batter Up! is an amazing place if having a juicy steak suddenly becomes your craving. Don't worry! They have plenty of tasty choices to choose from if steak isn't on your cravings list at the moment. It's a family friendly, locally owned, and all around amazing restaurant. Most definitely recommended for locals and visitors alike. read more

This place was hopping on a Sunday afternoon! Even so, we were seated after a short wait. We noticed they were keeping up with a busy curbside service as well. The storied hush puppies lived up to the hype ~ served literally piping hot with bits of delicious tasty onion ~ southern goodness! All four of us ordered the turkey and dressing. It was fabulous! Generous portions of homemade dressing with tender pieces of turkey inside, served with cranberry sauce and gravy on the side. For sides, we had the fried green tomatoes that were wonderful!! These were not overly breaded, allowing the tart succulent green tomatoes to shine. Turnips were tasty, coleslaw was yummy. The fried green okra and green beans were good; the okra fried crisply and not overly greasy. Servers were attentive and efficient. Don't miss a stop here, but check the website. According to signage, they're only open three days a week right now. read more

The dining room is back open and I came right on over. Lunch on a Thursday. Eight or nine nice fried shrimp with cole slaw and fried green tomatoes. Tea and dessert is $10. What a bargain. Super nice people and even better food. I'll be back soon. And often. I consider 4 stars to be an outstanding place to eat. It's a 35 minute drive from my house and worth every second. read more

Well most the food was good. The fried green tomatoes had a vinegary taste, the hush puppies were kinda dry and was short on onion pieces within the batter. Even though they were free I like more than 1 or two pieces of onion in my hush puppies! Because the restaurant opened at 10:30 closes at 2:30 on Wednesday they totally ran out of strawberry cobbler and bread pudding. Huge disappointment cause we were there before noontime. I also feel that their drink cups are far to large. There were 3 in our party and none of us even drank half of our glasses. That's a waste of product on the restaurants part and a waste of money on the consumers part! The waitress was extremely nice and kept checking to make sure we were ok. I noticed all waitresses were doing the same checking on their tables. I love that. read more

I've had great luck here. Usually not a long wait to be seated. Steaks are very good reasonably priced. I've only ever been there for dinner so not sure about lunch. Mac and cheese baked potatoes and corn nuggets are great. Defiantly stop by if you're around. read more

Our restaurant specializes in fresh US farm raised catfish and jumbo shrimp in addition to great steaks and all of your country cooking favorites. We have many selections to include country fried steak, hamburger steak, smothered chicken, fried chicken tenders and much more. On the lighter side, you can get most items grilled plain, Cajun, or blackened. We also have hamburgers, wings, and panini sandwiches...with many more selections to choose from. For starters, we have loaded fries, fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickles and additional choices. For lunch, we have a meat and vegetable buffet in addition to our full menu. On Sunday's, in addition to our full menu, we have put together some meat and veggie combos and specialize in homemade cobblers, banana pudding, and bread pudding. History

Established in 2016.

Dusti and Mike Dixon owned and operated “City Limits” restaurant in this location beginning in 2005 and closed in 2010 after Mike passed away of colon cancer. In the subsequent years, Dusti Dixon leased the restaurant out to several businesses. In 2016, Dusti and Les Smith opened the restaurant under the name of “Batter Up!” after marrying in 2012. Batter Up! was named in memory of Mike Dixon and his love of softball coupled with the specialty batter used on many fried favorites. After opening the restaurant, a catering company was formed under the name “Cater Up” to compliment the restaurant. The business offers a trio of services to include restaurant, rental space for events, and catering. In addition, the restaurant delivers lunches to local businesses and factories that need specialized lunches delivered for meetings etc. Batter Up! is a proud sponsor of our local police and fire departments along with local schools.

I work a very large area from Birmingham to Auburn along Hwy 280, Batter Up has the best all around food and service on all of Hwy 280. My favorites are the Honey Hot wings and the 10oz Cheeseburger loaded down with all the fixing. Steak and shrimp is excellent as well. read more
