About four days after getting my phone screen repaired, my phone became incredibly hot to the touch while I was using it (just texting, nothing extreme running in the background). The battery drained in an instant and the phone became so hot it burned my hand. For the next three days it was dead, and every time I tried to plug it in it became extremely hot, to the point where no one could safely touch it. I was travelling internationally so having a broken phone and no way to fix it was a major inconvenience and could have been dangerous if I had been alone. Not only that, when I was looking for ways to get it fix I discovered that Batteries Plus has misleading claims. They say something about being a 'licensed Apple parts provider', making them seem official, only for me to later realize that this is all a sham and Batteries Plus is NOT endorsed by Apple. If you get your Apple product fixed at Batteries Plus, Apple will consider it tampered with and will not help you fix it as well as likely voiding your warranty. Thankfully my phone returned to normal within a few days but it was a worrying experience and given the circumstances I wish I had just continued on with my cracked screen. *edit: screen is displaying my location as San Francisco but this was a repair done in Austin TX read more

I had a bad experience here a few years ago when a young guy charged me $5 for installing a battery in my watch. The point that was annoying was that the person didn't tell me there was a charge for installation (which I could do myself). I needed to get a cracked iPhone screen replaced and was hesitant to go there again, but they had a pretty good price online with a $10 off coupon so I decided to give the store a second chance. Super nice young man Jeff, was quick, knowledgeable and nice. He explained everything ahead of time. Fixed it in less than 30 minutes and was just great. Quickly got the service that I need. Very satisfied! I brought in a Samsung Galaxy S7 with bad battery. Apperently, since the S5 they started glueing the back plate on. I tried for so long to get the plate off myself. Finally gave up and brought the phone in to Batteries Plus. The manager there was super helpful. He tossed the phone on the hotplate and got to work. It was one of those days when you get home only to find the computer UPS has been beeping all afternoon. "Replace battery" das blinkin red light says. Sealed lead acid UPS batteries aren't something on the shelf at WalMart. A quick call to my nearby Batteries Plus was the solution. I called ahead 20 minutes before their closing time to confirm they had the batteries I needed in stock. When I arrived the batteries were already waiting for me on the counter. To be sure we had the right batteries for my UPS, the owner rechecked the lookup by UPS model and battery pack. Not only did I receive 10% off on my UPS battery purchase to match the online price, I also received $2 off on a pack of 9-volt batteries I needed, which saved me from making a trip to Costco tonight. As an added benefit, they will also test your SLA batteries for you (I have yet to take advantage of this service). Great people, great products, great service. Really happy I stopped by and gave this small-business owned by a disabled veteran a chance. I hope you will patronize them too! read more

DO NOT GET LIFETIME WATCH BATTERY REPLACEMENT HERE!!! I have bought the lifetime battery replacement for several watches and all of my Michael Kors watches. And, they have them in their system. The problem is that you never see what your battery # is or what battery # they enter in their system or get any proof that you paid for the lifetime replacement on that watch. So, when I brought my Michael Kors blue and pink watches in today that I had PAID $25 each for lifetime battery replacement, they rejected them. Why??? Because they said they had a different battery# listed next to them in their system. I told them you replaced the batteries and you entered it in your system, how am I responsible for the battery # being incorrect. I never saw the battery. He just said too bad thats not what the system shows!!! I even told him that they had replaced the battery in the pink watch a few times and he replied that he could see that, but I must have replaced the insides or something. WHAT!!! read more

I learned a valuable adage at Batteries Plus, which is very "Righty tighty, lefty loosy" Positive, negative: negative, positive. That means that when you want to replace your car battery, you remove the positive wires from their post first, then the negative. Then you put the new battery in with the negative wires first, followed by the positive. The attendants of this store are helpful, realistically priced, and provide a very good product. Even when I traded my car in, the service man at the dealership said, "Oh, we're glad you replaced the battery with a solid specimen." the store owners are really good about providing free battery tests and recommending other places to get tested, so you know they are not joshing you when they say, "Look here, pal-ly, yous need a new bat-try." (They do not sound like that.) The price is right, too. A new power source for my SUV ran under $100 and they took the old one off my hands for proper recycling. I am "positive" that I would not think "negative" thoughts about this experience. In fact, to be "negative" would not give me "positive" results. I even got a mnemonic out of it. read more

They replace watch batteries!!! I walked in with 5 watches (Tissot, seiko, michael kors) needing replacements - 10 minutes later they were alive and tickin'. The cost for battery AND labor was $9 and some change- about a third what I've spent many times at the jewelers. Clean store, locally owned business, friendly service - and when I had questions about a micro flashlight for a dog's collar, the guy got his key chain and demonstrated it's brightness for me. I got my iPhone 6s screen repaired here a few months ago and I may have well of just left my screen cracked because they did an awful job. The keyboard didn't work properly and there was a constant static line that appeared on the screen. I lived with it because I was too busy to stop back and complain. The icing on the cake was when the screen randomly cracked again without anything that caused it. I stopped in to this location and explained what happened and they said that since it was cracked again they couldn't help me. The recommended I restart the iPhone to see if that will fix the keyboard and static, but since t was cracked they couldn't help repair the screen and keyboard. They didn't seem to care that the screen cracked again for no reason at all except the horrible job they did. After paying $165 for the repair I was expecting a better experience. Horrible job and even worse service. Don't get your iPhone screen repaired here if you can avoid it. read more

These guys know their stuff! I was in town from Cincinnati when my motorcycle battery died on me and I had to push start it. I came here to find a new battery and he looked up the proper battery which was a perfect fit. Then he tested it ensured that it was fully charged. They even let me a screwdriver so I can replace the battery in the parking lot. Then the owner came out and looked at my old battery and told me that it was about six years old and explained the date codes on the battery to me as well. Warning do not take your wrist watches to this location I went in for 2 watch battery replacements, a polar heart rate monitor watch and a tru-glo analog watch. First they said the analog has screws and they can't replace the battery, I thought this was their job?? Then the polar watch he took a 1/4 inch flat head screw driver and starts grinding on the back scratching and deforming it, then took a quarter (25 cents) and continued to scratch and pry open the back, I thought I was taking this to professionals not 18 y/o who don't care about their job they should be flipping burgers not destroying peoples valuable watches, never again read more

I've been here twice and each time, was given the best service. The first time I went I thought I needed a new car battery, but they told me no, I just needed new battery cables, which they replaced then only charged me the cost of the cables (around two bucks and some change). After managing to never break a cell phone screen for the 12 years I've had an iPhone, a kid dropped my phone face down on the tile floor and it cracked. I took my phone in during my appointment time and had it repaired. Two weeks later it crack again after a light drop. I take it back and pay $120 to repair it AGAIN. Two days later the phone falls off the coffee table onto my rug and lands on the back (not the screen) and the screen shatters! I called to ask if they stand behind their product and will repair for free because what are the odds the screen breaks so often and so easily. The manager seemed unwilling to work with me. I would highly discourage anyone from phone repairs here. I have a feeling they use very low quality replacement products for a high price tag. read more

Well I didn't have a great experience with these guys. Their price was the cheapest...but you get what you pay for in this instance. I'm more disappointed than mad. I ordered a car battery on the 18th and was told it would be in by the 26th. I called on the 26th and was told they had a delay and it would be delivered on the 31st. I called on the 31st and they had an issue with manufacturing now and it will be an additional week. I just told them to refund my money. Even if it's manufacturing's fault, they still should have kept me updated as to the delivery process. This is just poor customer service and certainly not the way to run a business. I'll be glad to write an update to this later but I had such a great experience today that I just have to share! The iPhone battery problem with older iPhones (mine is a 6) just finally hit the news. I suddenly (last night) realized my problems weren't my imagination, were fixable, and desperately wanted a new battery ASAP! The app called Battery Life said my battery was at 76% so it was obvious I was getting hit hard iOS battery saving "features" that may kill Apple. I called when I got up late today and they said they had an appt scheduled at 10:30 and one at 11. They told me I could come in at 10:45. That couldn't have been more perfect timing for me!! I went in, Jeff fixed it super fast! He was super kind and knowledgeable and turns out was the same nice person I had spoken with on the phone earlier. 8 minutes and DONE! SWEET!! I checked my battery on Battery Life App and it said it was 100%. I turned back on all of the features that I had to turn off to keep my phone working. Opened some apps that are notoriously painfully slow when opening and they popped right open!!! SO EXCITING!!! I ran back in the store to thank Jeff again and tell him how perfect the phone is now and he came to greet me at the door to see what was wrong. Sweet guy!! I told him nothing was wrong and that he had just made my day and that everything was PERFECT!! Knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, helpful, caring... how often do you get that along with a great product in a 10 minute transaction? So, I haven't experienced customer service like this since last millenium. As in regressively arrogant and dogmatic. The staff member at this location lectured me on these gems while offering nothing helpful: 1) Since Batteries Plus was an essential service during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, the 14-day return policy still applied during the stay-at-home order. I said that Target wasn't accepting returns during the stay-at-home order, and tried to remind him what the stay-at-home order meant. He doggedly reiterated his position, further saying that they had been open every day (!???). 2) I was attempting to return an unopened battery charger recommended by the same Batteries Plus staff member after the dealer of specialized and expensive battery said that the charger was incompatible. The BP staffer insisted that the dealer was wrong. And in a tone that said we were wrong for erring on the side of caution by listening to dealer instead him. We later found further documentation online that the charger wouldn't have fully worked, but that's scarcely the issue now. Other Batteries Plus staff member at other locations have always done a great job. read more

Went in to drop off batteries for recycling, and in waiting for the associate to come out from the back, I found out they carry a good assortment of Satco bulbs. That's the plus. As the only customer in the store I inquired about getting a battery for my Ford key remote. They guy had no interest in helping me, had no customer service skills and was obviously ready to be out. Store closes in 45 minutes but helping me find the battery I needed was pure drudgery for the associate. So if you know what you want and they have it in stock you are good to go. If you want service, you might call ahead and ask if there will be someone available and willing to spend 2-3 minutes with a customer. read more

Never let this place replace your watch battery. They worker took a while to change my battery & I suspected something went wrong but he never admitted any wrong doing. But, indeed he broke my watch gasket & never said a word. Not telling me and admitting his guilt .... it did major damage to my watch. Water entered the watch mechanism by hand washing & now it needed major repair. I owned this watch for 15 years & I have never had anyone from other places break my gasket. Batteries Plus Bulbs emailed me to rate them. Originally I think I gave them a 2 or 3 but now since they won't stop emailing me here's a 1 star. It should've been a red flag for me that it was so easy to book an appointment with them, but I was desperate to get my phone fixed. Second red flag was that I had to sign a waiver stating that they weren't liable for any aftermath side effects since I had gotten my screen replaced by a different company (at APPLE... like c'mon that's the maker). I didn't like that but I signed anyway because this is what they do for a living but my mistake. I get my phone back an hour later and I'm pleasantly surprised with the quick turn around. Only took me 5 minutes to notice that something wasn't right. The touch calibration on my phone is now way off! I can barely touch something and it will activate. I can touch something in the right corner of my screen and a button in the middle of my phone will go off. Almost every time I'm on the phone and my cheek is against my screen the mute button goes off. Not cool. Too bad I can't do anything because they aren't liable. Highly DO NOT recommend. read more

Very helpful place run by very helpful staff! From a low-end but obscure camera or watch battery to a special-order laptop battery that was too old to be in the current store stock, these guys have never failed to help me out. It's so rare to find store staff who actually seem to know about their products and care about customer service. I hope this new local branch of this chain meets with every success, because we need more efficient and friendly establishments like this one. I know where my next auto battery purchase is going to be. About the only negative thing I can say -- a trifling, really, which is something not under the control of the store -- is that access is a problem, what with Brodie Lane being so busy and the divided traffic median not allowing for left turns in or out. They had batteries for an alarm system, generator, and sprinkler controller - while the prices aren't as good as you might be able to get online, they're close and you get excellent customer service (the guys are very helpful to find the right battery and they'll recycle the old one) plus I like doing business locally when I can. read more

I needed to get a battery for my car and rolled in here on a Saturday. We were greeted by an older guy who was alone in the shop. I asked if they replaced batteries and got rid of the old one and that's a YES. This is way better than the auto parts store where I usually get the ....well little lady....(even though I might know more about cars than they do). So while the selection isn't great at Batteries Plus, the price was good and they did what I needed. However, a few people started coming in when we were picking out a battery and he helped them first before continueing to help me. I found this really annoying. He offered to take 10% off but I already had a $10 off coupon so it didn't help. Anyway, they do have a ton of different types of batteries for all kinds of things and he did know about batteries. So while it took longer than it should have, he did what I needed and after we had finished up another old guy showed up to work. I guess he was on a break when I first came in. Surprisingly two people are needed at this store for situations like mine that come up. It's on the east side of Brodie in a strip of stores and they take credit cards. read more

Terrible service! Went to them to buy a battery and also get installed, figured let the professionals do it not trying to void my warranty. Well, that was a big mistake. After paying 250.00 for the battery I was then having to pay a 500.00 insurance deductible to fix my hood that they damaged attempting to install the battery I paid for. 750.00 for the overall experience! Who cannot install a battery in a truck? Well it's obvious their "professionals" cannot. Would never use their services again.
