I walked in right after another woman and she was helped instantly which is understandable. I wasn't greeted when I walked in however, the guy behind the counter went out of his way to stop who he was assisting to greet the man who walked in several minutes after me, then the woman assisting the woman who came in before me walked straight to the man who came in several minutes after me and asked if he needed help. That was a huge NO for me! I'll take myself and my money to the other location with better ratings as I'm sure they have better service! I waited until after I went to the other store with better ratings and they did not disappoint!! The warm welcome in from the moment you enter the door and assistance in finding what I needed was so quick, efficient, pleasant and genuine! In April, I went to the Batteries Plus in Mesquite for help in replacing a crazy looking halogen bulb on my microwave. Have never seen anything like it in my 71 years. I was helped by Julia, who worked very hard to locate the right bulb. However, she told me she didn't believe the ones they had in stock would work, the prongs were not long enough. Another associate (male) joins in on the conversation and picks one out (Ultra Last 20 W halogen bulb) and says that one will work. I go home, open the pack (mistake), and try to get on the underneath of the microwave to try to replace. Impossible. I report to the hospital shortly after to spend almost a month getting chemo and various transfusions. Came home and I realize I did not get right back on the project of fitting the bulb with my declined energy level. Went back to Mesquite store on Friday and was told 1) since I opened the package, it was non-returnable and 2) I had waited too long to return. Julia was involved in this conversation and she did indeed remember me coming in to purchase this bulb and she didn't think it would work. She remembered. Next, you can't return if you open the package? How are you supposed to check to see if it will fit if it's in the package? That is the lamest excuse I've ever heard. They should have told me at purchase, she doesn't think it will fit, he does think it will fit, but you can try when you get home and if you open the package to use the bulb and "she" was right instead of "him", then you cannot return. That is BS. I had been very careful opening the packing in case I had to return and had taped the opened edges. I know I waited too long to return, but I'm standing there with a cancer skull cap and a facemask which made it obvious I have had issues. They checked with the manager that did not have the nerve to come out and talk to me himself and he said if he overrode the date and did a refund, it would violate company policy and the corporate office would "fine" him. What kind of operation is this. I know from customer service, that there are exceptions and managers are allowed to review the circumstances and take the necessary action. When I left, there were three associates standing behind the counter and not one could look me in the eye. So, I'm returning to the hospital next week for additional chemo and a bone marrow transplant. I don't have the energy to address this any further, but I have to get this ridiculous situation off my chest. I have lost a lot of respect for this company. This is a review on the company as a whole as the same thing has happened at two different locations. I have four deep cycle AGM marine batteries on my boat. They are all on a maintainer when not in use. The last AGM battery I bought was last July and it's the battery that actually starts the motor. I tried to start the boat yesterday and the battery was dead but the other batteries were fully charged. I put the battery on a separate charger and left it overnight. When I woke up this morning the battery showed full charge. I tried to start the boat and it was very sluggish. I connected my tester and put a load on the battery. The needle plummeted. End result BAD BATTERY. So having dealt with warranty issues with Batteries Plus before, I knew if I took a dead battery into the store they would want to put the battery on their charger and make me come back the next day. So I connect the battery back to the charger and went to the gym. When I got back it was fully charged. I didn't try to start the boat because I wanted the battery at full charge when I took it in so I could walk out with a replacement. Took the battery in the store and they put there meter on it and it showed 11.86 volts. I told the employee everything I've listed in this review. He said he would need to put it on their "quick charger" and test it again. I asked how long it would take to quick charge (I'm thinking an hour). Keep in mind it's 10am on a Saturday. He said it would be done "tomorrow"! I said "that's a quick charge"? Needless to say, he didn't respond. I told him "well, I guess I'm not going to the lake tomorrow". He didn't say anything so I asked when they opened and he said "10am" as he was carrying by battery to the back. So In a nutshell, I had a battery that was less than a year old that didn't have a charge. I took the CHARGED battery in so they didn't have to do it. They never put a load on the battery. I had to leave the battery with them for 24 hours so it could charge .14 volts. Dashing all hopes of getting out on the lake this weekend. In closing, once I get my replacement and these batteries have reached the end of the term, I will be purchasing my batteries from somewhere else. If I would've known this was their protocol, they would've never purchased my batteries from Batteries Plus. read more

TL;DR: Don't shop at this Batteries+ location, especially if you want any warranty honored. The owner, John, will do anything to not help you or honor a return policy or warranty. On the best day, this franchise location is owned and operated by dishonest people. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. STORY: I purchased a Duracell AGM car battery for my wife's 2017 model car at this location on 09/2020. Two weeks ago at the end of September 2022, my wife's car starts having battery issues. I take the car up to this location, explain what is happening, and they test the battery while it's still in the vehicle and tell me that the battery tests good. They also test my alternator and starter - both good. So, I told them I would drive it and see if it had any issues. A day and a half later, I have to jump start my wife's car again, and now every other day, I have to jump start the car. On Monday 10/03/2022, after jump starting the car again - I take the battery out of the car and bring it up to the store. Battery still tests good. They offer to charge it, I accept. I come back 4-5 hours later to get the battery. They test the battery again before I leave - good. The very next morning, I have to jump start my wife's car. And the following Wednesday as well. I take it to a mechanic to have them run a diag on the car's electrical system. Mechanic comes back with a bad battery - it has a bad cell that it is causing it to short out when placed under any load. At this point, I call Batteries+ corporate and explain the situation and that I also want to be reimbursed for my mechanic bill that I should have never had to pay had the warranty been honored. They speak to this franchise location, come back on the line very frustrated after speaking with the owner/manager John and ask me to take it to another Batteries+ location. I take the battery to the Plano Batteries+ location, where within 5 minutes, they have load tested the battery and verified it is indeed a BAD battery, and have given me a new one under warranty. Unsurprisingly, my wife's car has had zero issues since swapping the battery. I spoke with John at this franchise location at the instruction from Batteries+ corporate to seek reimbursement for my mechanic's fee. The short version of this call is that John said mechanic's don't know what they're doing and that since they are battery people they know better than them, that he still won't honor the warranty because the battery is good, and there's no way he's going to reimburse me for the mechanic unless corporate calls him directly. I called Batteries+ corporate back and the most they did was inform this location that the battery had been swapped under warranty and they could not influence the store's decision to reimburse me for my mechanic's bill. DO NOT purchase a car battery or anything from this location. Don't waste your time or money here. If you insist on using Batteries+, go out of your way to avoid this store and go to a more helpful location. I, for one, will never be stepping foot inside any Batteries+ ever again. read more

I've been buying batteries at this store for several years and find the online ordering + store pickup option very convenient. Prices are reasonable if you know what you're looking for and even better when there is a sale. I've never had a problem with product quality and the customer service is good. The staff has been helpful and has let me know when what I thought was a dead/declining battery was actually a problem with some other piece of equipment (a la Frontier's stupid phone system). When my security system battery failed, I purchased a new one but then the security company gave me a fresh battery for free -- the staff cheerfully took back the battery I bought from them and refunded my money with no questions. Whether in-person or online, this store is a good resource for my needs. read more

I thought I was being smart and avoiding the mess that is the Apple store. I made my appointment online for 12:30 and showed up at 12:20. We'll, apparently having an appointment is a bit of a joke. And while there were three employees only one seemed to know what he was doing, while the woman berated the other dude right in front of customers. She also spoke overly loud and was asking the dude about me while I stood right in front of her. Just bought a car battery they provided great service and price - would recommend this store to anyone

This location is often understaffed and does not provide adequate customer service. I visited recently to exchange a battery that I had previously purchased for my vehicle. The battery had a 24 month free replacement and 65 month prorated warranty. After my family and I waited 45 minutes (and the young man made multiple phone calls to another store to verify the info was correct) we were turned away. The Manager - "Wes" refused to honor the warranty and allow us to exchange the battery paying pro-rated amount. Wes told us we were "wrong" & he had worked for the company for 5 years - and all we could do was call customer service. We purchased a new replacement battery and paid full price. I stopped back in twice the following two days and Wes was not working. I called customer service and was told our transaction was handled incorrectly. After a day or two I received a voicemail from the store saying they had a check for what we were supposed to have been credited (around $38). No thank you Wes, you keep it. My husband made a purchase of bulbs at this store but was not informed their return policy was for 15 days after purchase. It's a know fact return policy's are for 30 days. Of course, my husband didn't ask the clerk about the return policy because he believed we were going to use the bulbs. We didn't need the bulbs because were we having to replace the whole unit which included the bulbs. When we asked for the refund the owner/manager stated he was not going to refund because it was over 15 days. I told him it was okay but I was going to place an comment on Yelp at this time he was willing to give us a full refund. Why couldn't he just give us the refund before the Yelp comment? Bought and installed a Duracell battery for my John Deere mower from the Lavon store and it was not able to crank the engine even once. Took it back and they claimed it tested fine. After charging, found it would not hold a charge. Asked for a refund - I didn't want to waste time going back again and again for an unreliable brand of battery. The owner would having nothing to do with it - blamed the John Deere. I said I'll never step foot in his store again and use the Duracell to get my core charge refund when I buy a battery at Lowes. If I could give negative stars I would. They do not even deserve a one star. I took my ceramic watch here to get the battery replaced. The manager broke a piece of my band while trying to change the battery and said that he would send it to the jeweler to get it fixed, which will take after 2-3 days not including the weekend. After 2 weeks, they never called me back. When I called them, I was told that I could come pick it up. When I came the manager informed me that the jeweler could not find a piece for my band and all they did was just removed the broken piece. He then proceeded to tell me that my watch look "cheap" anyways so he will give me $20 for it. The watch costs at least 100 dollars...finally he said that I can send it back to the manufacturer to get it fixed and he will reimburse me if I bring the invoice. It will take at least 2 to 4 weeks to receive it back so we will see if the manager will even honor the promise. Overall, the customer service is horrible and if you need to get something replaced by the employees instead of just purchasing their products, do NOT come here. read more
