I was already extremely emotional and scared, and instead of feeling like we had a team trying to help us, I felt like the first priority was how much money we could pay. Before even running tests to determine what was wrong with him, we were being asked about the cost. I understand that veterinary care costs money and that businesses have to charge for their services, but when someone is sitting there crying and desperately trying to help their pet, there should be compassion and some effort to explain the options clearly not make them feel like they are being forced into an impossible financial decision. We ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to put Bandit to sleep. I will always wonder whether something could have been done for him if we had been given a real opportunity to find out what was wrong and discuss treatment options before being pushed toward the cost of everything. We were charged around $500 for the euthanasia and cremation. I understand cremation is an additional service, but being charged that much after feeling like there wasn't much effort made to actually help save him has left me feeling devastated and taken advantage of. The most painful part is that I didn't feel like Bandit was being treated as a life that mattered. I felt like I was being treated as a customer and a dollar amount during one of the worst moments of my life. I held Bandit's hand while he received his final shot. He was a cat we found and rescued and became part of our family. We loved him, and we wanted to help him. I just wish I had felt that the people caring for him wanted the same thing. I hope this experience is taken seriously and that other families in a similar situation are given more compassion, transparency about costs, and genuine options before being put in the position we were in.

I called on Monday explained what was going on with my Rusty. I experienced nothing but understanding and compassion and he was scheduled for Tuesday morning. Dr. Carla was extremely understanding and as we discussed Rusty, she was aimable to doing what was minimally necessary. Unfortunately, Rusty's test results were not good. I could also see that Dr. Carla was also saddened by his diagnosis. The entire staff to include all the technicians, front desk ladies, and especially Dr. Carla showed nothing but compassion and empathy in helping Rusty cross over the rainbow bridge. I felt that these folks really care about what they do and the animals they provide care for. All I can say is THANK YOU.

S.These folks also take care of all kinds of shepherds at High Sierra Lifeline K9 Rescue. Kudos for that, because they treated my King Shepherd when he first arrived from the Sacramento Shelter and came to HSLK9! Anyway, I ended up with a great dog AND a great vet! He had a horrible ear mite problem and had a nasty sinus infection because of it. I had been treating his ears with ear mite medication from online, but it just kept coming back. When I took him in, I wasn't so sure that I wouldn't have to have him put down - that's how bad it was. The vet couldn't not have been nicer. He really liked her right off the bat, which was a relief in itself. She took a sample from his ear, checked it in their lab and told me it was no big deal. I was sent home with all the medications that he would need. Within 3 days my old boy was back to himself. At 19! Thank you so much again Sierra Vet!

I was definitely that client -- asking all the questions, thinking of every worst-case scenario, and quietly panicking about losing my baby. Dr. Fisk was beyond amazing. He met every single one of my anxious questions with patience, kindness, and the calm reassurance I so desperately needed. He never made me feel silly for worrying -- just supported. When I came to pick my boy up, I was greeted by the sweetest front desk staff who immediately reassured me that he did great and was in the back resting. They told me he was such a good, loving boy -- and as a pet mom, that melted my heart. Dr. Fisk explained everything thoroughly -- how the surgery went, recovery steps, what to watch for -- and again answered every question with such gentleness. Anytime I've called with questions (because, yes, I'm still that mom), the staff was responsive and so kind. I truly can't recommend Skyline Pet Hospital enough. Unfortunately whole on a short RV camping trip we…read morenoticed our dog Bailey had blood in her urine and after trying to get an appointment from 4 other closer Vets we drove 40 miles to try to get in on an emergency basis. We expected a 2-3hour wait but they were able to see her in about an hour . The dr's technician was thorough and kind and when Dr. Buckton arrived he took the time to explain her possible condition and answered our questions about cost of a conservative treatment or aggressive treatment. We chose the conservative antibiotic treatment and by the end of the next day the blood in urine had cleared completely. The only issue we have is his office is too far away to be able to use for all of Bailey's needs! Thank you to the whole office!
