I had a great experience with Baumel. Shane is a very patient man as I bombarded him with all kinds of different questions and requests for quotes as I was juggling a few house projects at the same time and trying to learn more. In the end, Shane's crew wired and installed 4 ceiling fans, a bathroom fan and added a new outlet to the bathroom. They were clean and efficient. I was imagining they'd have to cut more holes and bigger holes, but they got it done with just a few small holes. I even patched the holes myself since they were so small! We recently moved into a new home, and while hanging some things on the wall I managed to drill right through an active wire (let's just say it was a shocking experience, haha). I can dabble in electrical work, but I'm not 100% confident in it, so I reached out on Yelp to find someone who could make the necessary repairs. I called them to install a ceiling fan. It was a little complicated, because we have high ceilings. The installation was perfect, but the patch-up/ painter didn't do a good job. What outstanding service by Shane himself and would definitely recommend and use their service again if needed. There were lights flickering in our house from the use of appliances so I contacted a couple different electricians and all of them were probably just looking for ways to get money off of us, but Shane was really helpful and gave us a clear picture of what we needed with cost as a factor. Other electricians gave us outrageously priced estimates, while Shane gave us an actual practical solution that ended with us getting help from Socal Edison. Requested them to troubleshoot the issue at my rental unit. Ended up just needing to reset the breaker and charged the service fee of $210 to do that. I get that a service fee is needed for the time (5 minutes) and drive out, but adjusting it relative to the issue should be taken into consideration especially if you want a repeat customer. Only reason why I'm knocking it down a star. Other than that communication was great and they were able to come out in short notice. read more

The Baumel Brothers were great from scheduling the work and getting a quote to getting the work completed. I needed to get 2 ceiling fans installed in bedrooms without pre-existing fixtures. Shane was quick to respond with details about what labor and materials were included in his pricing estimate. He was prompt to answer my questions regarding install (duration, prep work, etc) and I liked that he gave me time options instead of 3 hour windows like most contractors have in the past. Installation: Rito and Jose arrived on time and were very thorough with explaining what they needed access to and the whole process. They brought drop cloths to protect our floors and items in the room and cleaned up well after they left. I thought Shane was very caring. He did not charge me an estimate. Since one conductor was working, he moved the circuits to one side so I could have my lights and plugs working 1st and 2nd floors for free. He said that he usually charged $200 but did it for free. Premier power charged $79 for estimate and was going to charge $1000 to switch the circuits to the working conductor so my lights and plugs work in the house. The company gave me 15% discount, but it was still expensive. I really appreciate Shane's customer service. I didn't go with him because my family needed the electrical issue immediately. There was another company who was willing to start right away plus the electrician spent more time with me. The other company also had a finance plan. This was the deal breaker because I was afraid that it will cost too much out of pocket. He explained to me that he was unable to give me an estimate earlier because he had a personal reason. Installed 240V circuit with about 40ft run and outlet to convert to induction range. Quote was close to others, and he brought it down to match even closer. After delivery, the outlet needed to be turned to make room for the power cord pigtail direction - a 40A wire is much thicker than 120. He came back same day to adjust outlet box. I cannot express my extreme gratitude enough to Baumel Brothers! I tripped a few breakers over this past weekend and one of them controlled our AC unit. Of course this happened on the hottest weekend of the year! After trying to reset the breakers myself, several times, and nothing coming back on...I began to panic. I quickly went onto Yelp to search for an electrician and realized it was 30 minutes to quitting time (5p) and most businesses either were already listed as "closed", or "closing in 30 minutes". I wanted to cry! Baumel Bros was the first I tried calling and thank goodness!! I was greeted by Debbie, one of the wives of the Baumel Bros, and her concern for my predicament was so genuine that I knew I had contacted the right business. She first tried to walk me through re-setting the breakers, noting she might be able to save me some money if we can get it going over the phone. Honestly that's so unlike a business to do, try and save you money, I was touched! Unfortunately we could not get it going so Debbie let me know she'd contact her husband and see if he could squeeze me in. She noted it would be time and a half because it would be after hours, but of course who cared at this point! Debbie called me back immediately and confirmed her husband would be here in 20 minutes.
