I always have such great luck with service and selection. And... prices!!! This trip was no different except my salesman. He was awesome! He was a bit camera shy, but oh so helpful and sweet. Anyways, I walked in asked for the best selection for the court in my size and he showed me the shoes. I was browsing the sale table. I always find something and yes! I found the same shoe in my size on the clearance table with an additional 20% off because they were returned. They were clean and the bottoms were mildly used. I also found a reduced price sandal for $10 brand new in my size. Score! I ended up wearing them all day. Played pickle ball, had a blast, and my feet were comfortable. I will always go to Big 5!!! They are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy, and they have the best prices!! Always checkout the sale table. Check it out for kids and adults.

Big 5 is smaller than Dick's Sporting Goods. They still manage to carry a decent selection of sporting goods, camping gear, and other gifts. Sporting goods includes fishing. Prices are all over the place. There are usually sales going on. Both times I ended up purchasing shoes. The "super saver" price coupled with the coupon I printed from their website was a fantastic deal. Many items that are found in store are not listed on their website. I was looking for a skateboard for my son. The website only indicated one option. In store there were more than a dozen different boards. Same went for skate shoes. Only one was shown on the website, but there were several pairs to chose from in store.

So I had to wait 15 minutes for them to complete the order and then when they bring it to me, they misspelt the wording ("lacross" instead of "lacrosse") and the log was not centered. In the footwear department, the associate was also very helpful and quickly assisted me with getting the correct boot size and box. Unfortunately, our experience changed at checkout. The cashier, an older woman, had a noticeably different attitude. I won't go into every detail, but her tone came across as sarcastic and unwelcoming. Despite being polite and respectful throughout the interaction, it felt like she wanted to rush us out. My wife and I both left feeling uncomfortable, and we couldn't help but feel that the treatment may have been influenced by our ethnicity. That's not something I take lightly, but the difference in behavior was hard to ignore. I'm sharing this feedback for management because the front-end experience matters just as much as the rest of the store. I hope more attention is given to how customers are treated at checkout so others don't leave feeling the same way we did.

Consumers Beware: If You Value Your Money, Stay Away!…read more My wife and I are local gym owners and personal trainers, we have purchased and assembled tens of thousands of dollars worth of gym equipment in our careers. Sports and Fitness Exchange is by far the worst company I've ever dealt with. I bought one of their own home brand machines that was defective, returned it, and paid them another $300 for a different leg press--also their home brand--only to get another defective product missing parts. They ignored my calls and emails for a week, so I had to drive down there myself with the machine. Instead of making it right, they blamed me for the missing pieces and said "they get this all the time, where customers say they are missing parts" and I should've paid $399 for "expert assembly." That's nothing but an excuse to dodge responsibility and squeeze more money out of customers. This wasn't some used or third-party product--they sell and represent this brand as their own, yet still refuse to stand behind it. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. Sports & Fitness Exchange. Absolute nightmare.

They mentioned delivery within 90 days which was fine, however, they refused to update me on the status of anything that was happening on their end. After sending several e-mails inquiring about the status of my order, I was finally told it was scheduled to arrive to their warehouse early February of next year. This means I would not get it until mid-Feb at the earliest. A 4-month wait for a piece of strength equipment? Imagine all the gains I've already lost. I responded stating I wanted a refund as they would not be able to deliver on time. I received a generic response from the crackhead across the screen stating that I would have to pay a "15% restocking fee." How does that make any sense given the context of this situation? This is not an item that I ordered, received, and no longer want. This is an item that your company has failed to deliver on, and had you been able to provide better customer service, I might have actually waited until February. As for the Technogym unit I ordered, the cable came completely worn out and damaged; the weight stacks were not even properly assembled. I submitted an inquiry for this in October and, once again, after several weeks of correspondence, they stated they would send me a replacement cable. As of this writing, no such replacement cable is in my hands... Avoid this company at all costs. Unethical, unprofessional, criminal.
