Stopped in and tried a few different things: the Apollo Fish, Masala Dosa, and Chicken Korma. The Apollo Fish was easily the highlight of the meal--really well done and the best thing we ordered. Unfortunately, the rest was a bit of a letdown. The Chicken Korma was just okay, and the rice it came with was definitely overcooked and mushy. The Masala Dosa was also pretty average; it just didn't have that punch of flavor I was looking for. If I come back, it'll probably just be for the fish! read more

Visited Bawarchi Biryanis in Irving for a late dinner on a Wednesday. They are open til midnight, but the kitchen closes at 11:30pm. It's a fairly large restaurant, with the express side featuring bar seating and a takeout counter and the other side being a restaurant with full seating. I was given a menu and a free bottle of water by the waitress, who soon returned to take my order. I got the chicken 65 and an order of the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani. The chicken 65 was hot, fresh, crispy, and well seasoned. I liked the green chutney it came with. The Vijayawada Chicken Biryani had chicken in a spicy sauce tossed with basmati rice, red onions, and spices. It was pretty spicy but was more rice than chicken. Supposedly it's the largest chain Indian restaurant in the U.S., and they have a few locations back home in NJ that i may need to check out sometime. read more

Ive always been skeptical of Bawarchi because they have multiple locations, and always saw mixed reviews. A coworker of mine insisted this location had the best indian food in town. I was immediately skeptical, especially considering this is within 10 minutes of amazing places like Deccan Grill, Hydrabab House, and Southern Spice. I had to try it for myself, and under the rare occassion that my family was in the mood for Indian food, I decided to give it a shot. I have to say everything was pretty damn good! The lamb korma had rich flavor with a good consistency for its gravy. The lamb itself was tender and they gave you a decent amount for an order. The saag paneer also had a great consistency to its gravy base, with plenty of paneer in the mix. The cheese naan and garlic naan were both fantastic! It was hard not eat every piece of naan that was there. Granted this was a to go order, so the bottom wasnt as crispy as it could be, but thats sacrificed the moment its stored in foil and taken out of the restaurant. The roti and paratha were completely underwhelming compared to the naan. Neither had much flavor and got cold really quickly. While I was hoping to get a small order of biriyani rice, the side order of rice is still much more flavorful than I thought! Its also a good portion for not going overboard with a full out order of biriyani. While I did order gobi manchurian, they forgot to add it to my order. If I wasnt 17 minutes away from the restaurant, I would have went back and asked for it. Overall, this is another establishment in Irving that holds up the God-tier status for Indian food in DFW. While Deccan Grill is much closer to where I stay, I wouldnt mind going back to Bawarchi anytime soon. read more

We order from here weekly and it seems like the quality of food is starting to go down. Specifically the naan. We live within five minutes and the non-is so chewy and tough that you cannot even eat it. That only happens when it's been sitting for several hours or it's reheated. Service was good! Restaurant is neat! Loved the karvepaku chicken appetizer! The gongura chicken biryani is something never to try. So spicy that it is inedible. I called them and told him about the misunderstanding before they even started making my order and they would not give me back my refund I'm not about to drive 9 hours to go pick up some damn food but that 20 bucks I spent was so important to them that I work my tail end off for and they don't want to make it right. That is the most tightwad craziest customer service I have ever experienced when their app is the one who made the dang mistake. But not even that I called before my order was even made. Excellent chicken korma. This place is reliably fire. We order about once a month and have never had a bad experience.

We ordered takeout and had a pleasant experience. Veggie samosas, paneer butter masala, and vijawada chicken biryani. All were spicy and tasty, but the paneer butter masala was my absolute favorite. The one downside was that they left a seed pod in there, and I didn't see it until I bit into it, which wasn't the best taste. However, even with that moment, it was a delicious dish that I would order again. The vijawada chicken biryani was also very good. Packed with flavor and the rice was perfectly cooked. Recommend it for spicy food lovers! We had a side of naan to go with it, and the texture was off; like it was old. Fresh naan is always preferred. The veggie samosas were a hit with my toddler too and were full of filling, so they didn't skimp. Yay! Overall, I would love it if a place like this existed in Fort Worth. Would I make the drive out just for this? Maybe not, but it definitely hit the Indian food craving! read more

They had excellent biryanis and entrees and tandoori pomfret is my favorite which I highly recommend eating here! The ambiance is quite good and nice place to have a family gathering. The serivce was excellent and the staff was kind, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Although we weren't sure what to have, they were able to make suggestions because they were so informed about the menu. Bawarchi Biryani has always been my go-to place for biryanis. They also have a good variety of north and south Indian dishes. Their Kheema Biryani is my absolute favorite. Do give it a try. Their portion size is pretty good. I call them to order and pick it up within 20 to 30 minutes. You can give them specific instructions while placing orders and they usually oblige. Do check out their specials, which usually taste great. The biryanis have always been a hit or miss when it comes to flavor, hence the 3 stars. It is still one of my favorite restaurant for Indian food. I usually do to-go orders and have not dined at their current location. Parking for pick up orders is convenient and the staff are very responsive. read more

The best thing Bawarchi Biryanis have going for them is the super wide range of options for their biryanis, be it vegetarian or including a lot of protein options, including chicken, lamb, goat and seafood. They also have additional biryani options during the weekends (Friday to Sunday) that aren't on the regular weekday menu. Bawarchi also (like Hot Breads in Las Colinas) have a variety of pastry and other dessert options (which is a gold mine for a sweets fiend like me). On this occasion, I decided against the traditional Hyderabadi dum biryani, and opted to try the intriguing sounding chicken tikka biryani. Disappointed in this one, because while I was expecting the chicken tikka to be colorful and done with a bit of tandoor flair, the meat was a little dry, colorless and without texture. The butter chicken was a saving grace in that the gravy was creamy and flavorful, but again the chicken here was overcooked. The cheese and garlic naan breads to accompany this were good, though. Tried the mango malai (malai is a dessert made from milk turned to clumped cream and usually served in a sauce) to end the meal and it was great! Gotta try the cake next time. read more

I came here to pick up a couple of deliveries to customers. In all my years of delivering food, I have never experienced such a nasty and unprofessional restaurant owner...EVER!! I asked an employee if I can leave the food on the counter and can pick it up after using the restroom, and she insisted that I do that. When I came out of the restroom, both of the delivery orders were on the dining room table instead of the counter. Mind you that this dining room table is just few feet from the front door, and there was no one on this side of the dining room area when I came out of the restroom. Anyone could have took off with the food. I went to the owner and asked him why he left my food delivery's on the dining table without letting me know. And he started yelling and screaming, telling me that if I don't like the way he does things at his restaurant, then I should leave the food and get out of his store. Just pure nastiness!!! What kind of business owner that runs your business in this manner? I have filed a complaint with Ubereats as well as the two customers that I dropped the food off to. They said they will file a complaint with Ubereats as well. And be sure to know that I will let ALL future customers as well as all of my friends and families know how you treat those who pick up food for customers as well as customers. Since we also ordered the okra and channa we stopped halfway until the other dishes arrived. After 30 minutes, still no okra nor the channa. I went to the woman who took our initial order. She looked utterly surprised and a coworker went to the kitchen. Finally our food came out and the lady told us, "I'm not supppsed to be working on this side "...of the restaurant." Bad bad bad and poor rude customer service and poor planning. we ordered all meals together and received one of our orders over 30 minutes after the other two were brought out.... how awkward to eat alone after my mom and girlfriend had already eaten and the way they acted about it. Not apologetic and straight up rude in asking 30 minutes later oh you still want it? Because they noticed everyone else was wrapping it up and I was the one paying the bill. I still tipped them 15%.
