Last month I called Baxter and I figured I would wait and share my experience. I called this company in a frantic overdrive-after 12midnight and spoke to a Deborah and she said she would have a technician call me to schedule a free inspection. I waited 15 minutes.. and thought if they call now they are my heroes. no call! I waited- one hour- no call. I was panicking when I got no call back from a exterminator from Baxter. So, I figured I would call around. I coudn't get any other companies on the phone. The sound in the attic stopped, so i fell asleep. I'm not sure what time it was but I know it was after 3am. I woke to the phone ring and it was Catina. I looked at the time and it was 7am. This is the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful customer service representaitive that I have ever spoke to over the phone. Kinda in the way that I wished she had multiple jobs and worked at all the other places I call during my busy days. LOL. John responded about 8. This was one hour after I spoke to Catina, my #1 girl. Anyway, John responded right away to take care of our pest issue. When He arrived I explained that I was hoping you would have got here last night when I called because there is a noise in my attic and I dont know if its a rat or larger in the attic and I'm scared to death of it. I would have given him a bad review depending his response. He indicated, "When we get a call after midnight, we have to wait until after 7am to respond unless our message said EMERGENCY call now." He gave a sincere apology and said "I will work very hard for you and mention your concern to the office, so that we can improve and that won't happen again. He explained that Deborah was new and made a simple error when the message was patched thru late night and had not reached the ON CALL technician. I forgave Deborah and John instantly after he further explained Deborah was recently hired for night shifts. I believed him and we got on with the issue at hand in the attic. He recommended a plan of exclusion from the exterior and interior of the home and mass trapping in the attic (traps had to be checked twice a day until all the holes where closed up. John said, "you can never have enough hooks in the water when your fishing. So, in this case with rats, I don't want a rat to be able to get past any of my traps." Sounded like a great plan to me. That was it for now and he called me around 4pm that same day to come and check his traps. The report said 50 Rat traps were set in the attic. I took his word for it. I was NOT going any where near there to check. He actually removed the "Largest Rat he's ever seen" from our attic, where I store my wedding gown- already! John mentioned, construction in our neighborhood may have caused the problem according to the report he left. The report included pictures that he texted me after his inspection. I wish Yelp had a place to upload the photos John texted to me. We are very pleased with the service from Catina, my #1 girl and John and would recommend his services to others on our block. read more

I had an exterminator from a different company come out on a Tuesday because I found mouse droppings in my new apartment. He did his thing and assured me I wouldn't be seeing any mice. Imagine my surprise, then, when I woke up on Friday night to see a mouse running across my floor. After screaming, immediately evacuating my apartment and spending the night at a friend's house, I spent Saturday trying to get in touch with an exterminator to come out that weekend (my previous exterminator wouldn't visit until Tuesday...major side eye...). I left a message with Baxter Saturday morning requesting an appointment; I had to call a couple of more times, mostly because I was in a full on panic, but by the evening, I got a call back from Michael, who set up a 7 am appointment for the next day. That was great news because it meant I could have this fixed in time for a good night's sleep Sunday, before heading back to work Monday. Michael called me in the morning to let me know when he would arrive; when he did, he was extremely thorough and found many holes that my previous exterminator missed. He quoted me a fair price that included a guarantee, then went to work spraying my apartment with a scented deterrent, treating the holes, stuffing them with steel wool and caulking the holes shut. He even boarded up the pipes under my bathroom cabinet and pulled everything out of my closet to find two holes in the corners. The whole thing took about 90 minutes and he only charged about $100 more than my other exterminator, who was only at my place 30 minutes and whose work obviously left something to be desired. Honestly, for a Sunday visit and peace of mind, I gladly would have paid any price. I'm so terrified of mice that I have recurring nightmares about them, but I actually feel confident enough in Michael's work that I know I'll be sleeping soundly tonight. read more

At first I thought this company sucks when I got the actual prices. They charged me way more than the phone quote of '$300.00 with up to a year warranty'. It's the 'up to' that got me. I should have asked more questions but I panicked and said please ....please just come. I've seen a mouse in the house before but this time it was a rat and it scared me half to death. I googled rat control and called the first company that stood out for this type problem. Mind you... I've never used an exterminator before because the occasional mouse was easy to catch. So they came out and inspected the place. And then hit me with the cost. $800.00 for year warranty. I almost went thru the roof. I said what happened to $300 with up to a year warranty? He explained $300.00 on average but could be more of less. I didn't argue since i saw the menu of work on the proposal. It ranged from $99.00 for just traps to $800.00 for concrete work and year warranty. I took the plan for $500.00 which included patching up the walls in my basement and two large holes at my outside foundation wall. The Plan had a 6 month warranty but included 4 weekly checks up front, after everything was sealed tight. I inspected the areas after and it looked great and I couldn't find any sign of rats or any way they can get in. I was happy. Nice and fresh. I do appreciate the end result and the followup make me feel more at least after they inspect things again every so often. I recommend them but be careful that you ask your questions. So you don't get a 'bait and switch'. That what my dad called it. read more

This is my first review- hope it's helpful:) Well it all started with a frantic call from the tenant in my rental property saying she saw bedbugs! Now this was more than a little disturbing to me since I use part of the same property for storage. Just the thought of those creepy things in my stuff made my skin crawl! Before this I heard about bedbugs but I never actually saw one of those things! I immediately began my online exterminator search and after calling a number of different companies, I settled on Baxter Pest Control. The service rep took my info and explained the service options to me. I asked her to call the tenant directly to explain how she needed to get ready for the service and she said she would. I wanted to make sure she had the right info. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following day - what a relief that was! I asked if I could get a call 30 minutes prior to arrival so I could meet the technician at the property and she said no problem. Now on the day of the appointment I met them at the property and after a thorough inspection they did the treatment and gave the tenant info to call for follow up. I have to say these guys were prompt, professional and thorough and the cost of the service was more than reasonable. I haven't got any more calls so like they say "no news is good news"! Hope you never have this problem, but if you do, I would definitely recommend these guys! read more

My wife and I started to find mouse droppings in July. After contacting another exterminator and paying $100 for simple mouse poison, the problem came back in November once it started getting cold outside. We had no warranty and since the first exterminator provided such poor service, we called Baxter on a referral from a friend. John and his co-worker Michael came out to us the same day. They were very professional and walked us through everything that they were going to do. They not only fixed most of the issues in our main problem area, the kitchen, but they also walked around the whole condo to find that we had mouse droppings in some other closets. They took their time to address each and every point of entry. The one thing that they were unable to do was to take out my dishwasher due to OSHA regulations and address the holes behind it. However, John did promise that if I were to remove the dishwasher myself, he would gladly come back and cover all the holes with sheet metal to finish the job. I don't like the website But the service was pleasant and cheap. I like cheap coffee, cigs, beer and 'cheap' w..... but anyway back to the point. I called around looking for a company that can get to my tenants quickly and fix the rodent issue and not break my bank account. This company exceeded my expectations on both areas. They arrived one hour after my call, I ok'd the work and I got a invoice one hour 45 minutes later for $175.00 plus tax that described what they did as follows: Installed sheet metal behind kitchen appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove). Used steel wool and clear latex caulk to close gaps at baseboards on first level and second floor closets. Vacuumed rodent (mice) droppings in kitchen and 2 bedroom closets. Placed 4 snap traps in basement and heater room. Tenant signed inspection report and given FAQ papers. 90 day warranty $175.00 plus tax That's value. I will use again for other locations. read more

My experience with this company was bad then actually very good. We had called because wanted help right away. When the operator took my info she said she would have the next available get back to me. Well I waited and waited and no call until about 8am. That's 6 hours later for an so called "Emergency" service. Let me specify this clear. You must say "I want help its an Emergency now", when it's 2 in the morning or else this company will wait and call you after 8 or so like they did me. That's not emergency service to me. That's the bad. The good... Its actually quite good. When they did call I found them to be on time and politely professional. They earned my confidence and I trust them to take care of the bugs. Even better part: It cost me $99.00 plus tax for what I needed and its been better after only 2 days. read more

We found what we thought was evidence of bedbugs in the middle of the night and, after a sleepless night, called Baxter. They sent Jonathan Johnson over the very next day, who told us after looking at a bug sample that what we had was carpenter beetles, not bedbugs. He was firmly convinced, but agreed to look at our mattress anyway, just to be sure. Indeed, no bedbugs. A lot of people tell you to beware of exterminators, who might tell you you have a problem when you don't, just so they can charge you. Mr. Johnson could have easily done this--we had a bug that looked very similar, and we were convinced it was bedbugs. We're extremely happy with the honesty and obvious expertise (through talking to him) that this Baxter employee demonstrated. (oh, and the evaluation was totally free, too). read more

I know exactly how to kill ants- most of the time. My kitchen was swarming with ants. No matter how much I tried to vacuum them, they keep on coming... went and bought some boric acid and mixed it with apricot jelly. then i had less ants. It's totally safe. They were practically gone overnight and and a few come back after 2 days. Its time to call the experts. I looked around and found Baxter Pest Control. Took the basic service for a lil over $100.00 with tax and its been a week and no ants. Nick, my new guy (cute), worked wonders for me. That wonder was caulk. Nicky caulked the cracks around my kitchen window sill under the plants and that did it. NO ANTS! And the cost was affordable and the service was fast and to the point. I will be calling Nick back to caulk some more cracks. read more

We've had a mouse problem for over a week and asked our landlord to call an exterminator. Baxter called me less than an hour after I'd contacted our landlord and scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon. The exterminator came on time and immediately got to work finding the source of the problem. He worked quickly, but also stopped to explain what was happening, what he was doing, and answering whatever questions I had on how to monitor the problem and continue to keep the mice out. After he left, less than an hour later, I got a call from Baxter to set up a follow-up appointment next week. I contacted Baxter Pest Control after finding what I thought were ants in my downstairs bedrooms that would not go away with store bought bait traps. I contacted the big pest control services who couldn't accommodate me same-day and were really doing a job over the phone in scaring me into all the worse case scenarios. I then contacted Baxter who were able to come over same-day and diagnose the problem almost immediately and treat the problem. 2 Months later, I am still problem free. The technician that I dealt with was very knowledgable, professional and respectful of my home. I think I bought home bed bugs from a trip downtown to my favorite beef rib place Chima. The guy next to me at the bar was talking about them at his apartment building, is all i can guess how I got them. I remember he threw his overcoat over my jacket while we sat there. But anyway, the was the start of the nightmare. But the end wasn't so bad. I heard them saying the building used Baxter and they were going to call Baxter. I saw Baxter Pest on Yelp a while ago, when I was looking for ant control, but I never called after not seeing enough good reviews. But, I am very happy i called them over for the bed bugs. I'm going to check on this because he was amazing) who set the bar for extermination standards. He was calm and explained everything he was doing every step of the way. All my husband and eldest of my four sons kept saying was that the itch was in my head and the bites were a reaction to soap something. My husband said no one else is getting bit in the house. There were what Baxter called thief ants in our kitchen. We sprayed some over the counter products and it didn't work for us and worsened the problem. They sprayed some odorless bug spray and the problem was gone completely in three days. First day, we had hundreds in our kitchen. Second day saw two ants. Third day, we haven't seen any. Fourth day and beyond no ants. We had the service in March 2014. Very happy. read more
