While in Omaha for work, my 2022 Outback's dash decided to light up like a Christmas tree. At 515p I was able to drive into their service department where I met Tobi. Within minutes, she had my car scanned and had a loaner ready (so they could dive a little deeper into the transmission code my car was throwing). By 9am the next day, she was already calling (nothing major--just my car being extra dramatic). They did an update and my Subaru was good to go. I am SO thankful that they were able to get it in and scanned (after 5pm ) and have me back on the road the next day. They deserve zero stars. One is too flattering for them. I have never been treated with so much disregard and disrespect with any business, let alone a car dealership. After dealing with what they call their "service" department, and the ensuing faulty part they sold me that they refused to allow me to return or even offer me a refund, I gave up and sold my Subaru because if I kept it, I would most likely have to deal with them again. We found a car here we wanted to buy. A sales rep came up to us offering help and advice. I know what you're thinking now: here it goes, high pressure tactics, what payments can you afford, etc.... None of that. He was very respectful of our wishes and listened to what was important to us in our new car purchase. We wanted to trade our old car in but didn't feel we were offered what we wanted to get out of it, so we decided to keep it and maybe sell it private. Again, he didn't try to push this or that on us. After a few hours, we came back with a cashier's check to purchase our new car and everything was ready for us to sign. The finance manager was also pleasant to deal with and again we didn't feel pressured into warranties or finance options. My only complaint is the hands free phone has a lot of static, so I can never use it-seems to be a big downfall, but the car ride makes up for it! This car glides down the road & rides in comfort! Myself and another went in to value a trade the manager felt compelled to let us know that they are all connected meaning the Audi dealership, very rude when saying it to us. We had no way of knowing they were connected considering they have different names. The dealerships both gave low trade values which is fine but lower than the blue book value. read more

Looked at a used car. I took the car to an independent mechanic before considering to buy and the independent mechanic stated that the transmission fluid is dark and needed a flush and that the alignment was off. When trying to negotiate, the sales associate would not budge stating that the fluid was fine without allowing their own mechanic to look at it, insisting their inspection would of caught that. There is no reason this independent mechanic that I had to pay would have any reason to falsify the information yet this business was unwilling to correct it unless I took this vehicle at a certain price and they tried to negotiate not doing the transmission flush when they certified that their mechanics looked at all of it. Found a car I liked - intended to buy. 1) they initially low balled me on my trade -in. 2) I put money down while negotiating, but took the deposit off because of the sales persons indifference. When I called to inquire about the car to set up a final test drive I was told that the car sold. I continued to see it posted online and confirmed with a phone call that the car was still available over a week later? Can only assume that I was lied to because either they didn't want to honor the trade-in value that we finally agreed to or they didn't want to send the car out for for possible repairs that they agreed to (lane assist & heated steering wheel)? Can't say for sure because the sales manager I reached out to after, never returned my call. I've have bought 2 cars from the Baxter group this year - would buy from them again. I told her I was just looking as that was my first stop on my car purchase venture. Test drove 3 cars. No pressure. No hard sell. No holding me hostage in an office while 18 people came in and out trying to make a sale. When I was done with the test drive she simply asked what I thought. I told her I really like the car I eventually bought but I needed to think about it. She gave me her number told me to call with any questions and thanked me for coming in. Love this Subaru dealership. I moved here from out of state with a crosstrek I purchased in California but the service area and members treat me like I'm a member of their family. Their waiting area is great, complete with free food and drinks, TVs, and plenty of comfortable seating. This dealership also offers free car washes, which is such great service especially considering I didn't even purchase my car here! I took my car in for a warranty recall I had gotten. They offered to do a courtesy check and I figured why not. They found I needed to replace a piece an we made an appointment two weeks out to get the work done. I dropped my car off and they said it would be about a week. I called a week later after not hearing anything since dropping it off and they told me they had not even started on it at all yet. They finally started on my car after I called. I picked it up the following Friday nearly two weeks after dropping it off. Driving home and it sounds terrible. They put a hole in the fender liner and didn't properly reattach my liner or bumper. I was not impressed by what seems to be a rushed job after not working on my car sooner like they should have. read more

I came in to get my oil changed and I have a maintenance package of 12. I was apparently supposed to get an oil change every 6 months but instead I got an oil change whenever my miles met the sticker. My package was said to expire in a year, but I had 7 oil changes left. By the time I am done with this visit I will have 6 oil changes left and by the expiration date 4 changes that I won't be able to use. I had no idea they expired, but I went to talk to someone in finances to get it extended and the man was honestly a jerk... I never am one to complain but this really got to me. I tried to explain to him what I needed very clearly and he just talked to me like he was in the worst mood and that I was ignorant. He seemed to have no clue what I was asking. I explained further and he said he could do nothing about it except that I could pay more for another package on top of the ones I had left. It was a disappointing interaction considering the service side said the sales/finance people were great at accomodating for their customers. I'm giving 2 stars because service is great but their customer service just isn't there yet. read more

Fool Me Once This post is for the service center. Like so many of you, I am a proud owner of my dream car (2018 Subaru Crosstrek in Sunset Orange). I purchased the car new 3.5 years ago, and it's been a dream. I highly recommend this vehicle is you have somebody that you know and trust in the service department. An annoyance of both locations is that they make single factor recommendations, not recommendations based on an actual assessment of the vehicle. The only factor they assess is mileage. This can result in things like replacing perfectly good breaks. In a world where it is better to be safe than sorry, I can deal with that, but heads up to those of you who prefer to only spend money as needed. Location 1 (180th and Dodge) - This is the location where I was first duped. My vehicle was at 30,000 and I was giving it the works! After the "assessment" and before they began the actual work, I was informed of a recall issue that they did not have time to complete that day, so I scheduled an appointment to bring it back for the recall later. They continued on to recommend the 30,000 service package which included bleeding the break lines. When I brought it in for the recall a few days later, they replaced my break lines... I don't know how that would make you feel, but I sure felt like an idiot. I still continued going to this location for service and such, because I purchased the 120,000 mile warranty and want to make sure my car is taken real good care of! Location 2 (La Vista) - Quick back story. I needed an oil change during tax season, so I ran it through a Jiffy Lube. Whatever they did wasn't good, I started noticing oil spots in my garage, so a couple month and a few thousand miles early, I took my car to the new Baxter location to get the oil change done right. I was hopeful for a fresh / positive new start at this new location. Boy was I wrong. I was around 58,000 miles at this point, so they were pushing the 60,000 mile package, as I knew they would. They also informed me that my tires had dry rot. I asked them how that would happen, and they explained that I must not have rotated my tires frequently enough. They really should have checked my service history. I had my tires rotated every time I got an oil change until the quick trip though Jiffy Lube a couple months prior. Oh, I felt insulted. Needless to say, I got my oil change and left with a list of the 60,000 mile recommendations to have my husband assess. Which brings me to current date. Now my oil light is on 300 miles before I'm due for service. Had my husband check my oil and it is below the minimum line and dark. What, did they just replace my gasket to stop the drip and not change my oil?!?!? How does this happen?!?!? Now I'm internally conflicted. I really want to take my car to my guy that I trust at West Omaha Auto Service, but he can't take care of my warranty work. Maybe I'll just wind up road tripping to Bellevue... read more

I will never buy another vehicle from Baxter. I bought a brand new outback, spent 30k. A few months late, it suffered 50% of it's cash value in hail damage. They wouldn't offer me a loaner vehicle while it was repaired, though I just spent 30k there. So I had to have my vehicle repaired at Sid Dillon who DID give me a vehicle to drive for the 3 months my outback was in the shop. A couple weeks ago, in a winter storm, I slid and hit a curb. Almost 2k in damages. They told me they will not release my vehicle without me paying the 500 deductible. Will not work with me at all and won't accept payments. Though I did just buy a 30k dollar vehicle for them. Thanks for customer appreciation, Baxter. Ya'll suck. read more

Be very weary of their "service checkup." I went in knowing what I needed fixed and they asked if they could also do a free service check while they fixed the known issue. When they told me the results, they said the service check found over $4,000 in necessary fixes, almost as much as my car is worth. I had them just do the one known fix and took my car to a trusted family friend mechanic and had him look at each of their findings. NONE of the major issues they said I needed to fix or "my engine would shake out of car," were actually necessary. My mechanic was able to fix my burnt out lights and give me an oil change for $53. Bottomline avoid getting your Subaru fixed here at all cost, they will try and scare you into getting a new car or spending a ridiculous amount on fixing their findings. read more

He insinuated I didn't know what I was doing by walking away because he sold a lot of cars every month and told me my low mileage trade in car was worth well below NADA listed value. Said he want do to be a haggle free dealership- I'll just bet he does since he was by far the highest cost of all the dealers I sourced. The coffee was good but that's the only good thing. read more

I have had two Grand Cherokee's purchased from Baxter. Since Tal passed away, the dealerships have changed a lot. Look at the buildings, somebody has to pay for them. Wanted a new Subaru or Cherokee. First went to Subaru by West Roads. All they wanted to say how "transparent pricing" was great, no need to go elsewhere. I then went to Beadmore in South Omaha, They were 3K cheaper right off the bat. I then decided to check Baxter Jeep at 180th Dodge. Could not find one equipped like we wanted. They keep wanting to sell me a different color or equipped different. They offered 7K off sticker. I then decided to check other dealers in 150 mile radius. Found 3 cars right away. I bought on in two days over in Iowa. We worked out the price over the phone (about 9,300 off sticker). Then when we got there, we worked on the trade in, we settled on trade in price listed in Kelly's blue book. Do you home work and shop around. read more

I leased a new Subaru Forester from Stewart about 2 years ago. Recently, I thought I would look at my lease paperwork, check my mileage, make sure I'm on track. It turns out they gave me a 4 year lease instead of the 3 years I thought I was signing. Yes, we went back and forth on the trade in price and the monthly price. I decided to lease instead of buy. My trade-in car wasn't in the best shape. I was really just interested in the trade in price they might give me, and I wasn't even going to get a new car that day, but they wore me down. They started with a trade in value of $2000, of course, what an insult, couldn't they at least TRY to meet the KBB or NADA trade-in value?! When they finally came up with the monthly price I wanted, the trade-in value had gone up, but they were NOT up front about changing the lease term from 3 to 4 years. Well, OK, I thought, it has been 2 years already, I'll check the Service Contract, maybe I can get some money back there. NOPE. The Service Contract only lasts 2 years. For a new car, it covers the bare minimum. I may get reimbursed for getting some new wiper blades, if I buy them within the next few months. The additional warranties they offer are always a bad deal for new cars. I am just bitter all around about my experience at this dealership. I wish I had walked away when they offered me $2000 for my trade-in but they took my keys and didn't give them back. Maybe they took advantage of me because I'm too polite, or I'm a girl, or something. I just feel like I've been had and I want to warn people away from having the same bad experience I did. It is tough for me to admit that they got the better of me, I mean, I'm an independent woman... but yes, I was distracted over the 3 to 4 hours it took to make this deal.... yes, I was too polite... yes I thought they would play straight with me if I made my expectations clear... and they did not. read more

Scheduled Oil/Filter-Tire Rotation on 9/30/19 for my 2018 Subaru Legacy 2.5 Limited at 15,000 miles. I had replaced the Air and Cabin Filter myself the prior week and advised Brian when I checked in. When they were finished my "Status Report" noted both Air and Cabin filters as "Requires Immediate Attention". I asked Allen why - explaining I had already advised Brian they were new. He tried calling the tech who worked on my car (Matt), and then printed out a new status report, but the air and cabin filter were still noted as requiring immediate attention (and could not explain why). Two days later I noticed they did not rotate my tires (scratch on rear passenger wheel I encountered a few months earlier was still mounted on rear passenger side). Baxter sends out a survey after each service. My last Service (10,000 mile oil/filter change, tire rotation and 2 recall items) was a slightly better experience - but still sketchy (though no follow up after filling out survey accordingly). We'll see if they respond to the latest survey I filled out before posting this review read more

Choose between a no haggle dealership or haggle dealership. They don't want your service if you are intelligent and not willing to discuss payment amount. If they are forced to negotiate the actual price on the car they will shut down. Anyone else told about the $1500 cost to them for a certified car with a 160 point check? How do they miss 2 buttons that don't work on the car then? Go elsewhere unless you want to pay above NADA retail and get a poor trade in value. read more
