The guys at the helm are disgusting human beings. Every one of them. Especially Dima. It takes seconds to reply to a text. And I barely texted Dima over the course of the YEAR AND A HALF they left me hanging after agreeing to take on a unique small project in my home. I last stopped by the office in early March, at which point I was told that the multi-unit kitchen project, the one keeping them busy this entire time, had a definite end date of seven weeks, and, in the meantime, Felix was available to quote a price and order materials. When I emailed Felix, as instructed, he responded, "Be patient and wait." Yesterday evening, he called to bail on my project on behalf of Dima et al. To provide background, my dad, an electrician, has recommended their work to several residential clients over the years. They did custom kitchen cabinets for my family, myself included. I could hardly stand working with them from the get-go due to their crass attitudes and unapologetic delays, but I didn't have anyone else to call off hand and decided not to risk hiring randoms for something so important. For the smaller project, I would've explored other options long ago, had I known they would pull this. Hell, if they didn't want the project, they could have easily recommended a competitor or a few. I believe they stalled for two key reasons: 1) They didn't want to alienate my dad and, in turn, other contractors in the community. 2) They weren't sure how busy they would be after their long-term project, so they kept my bullshit, as Felix expressed, on the back burner just in case. I'm sure Bay Area Cabinetry will continue to get business, as few do quality custom cabinets locally. But you lost ours. My dad's. His clients'. My uncles'. Their clients'. Potential clients' reading this. You've shown your asses. And what the hell for? Because you couldn't initially decline a project you didn't want. Because you decided my time was worthless. The decent thing to do, given our history and after a freakin' year and a half, was to bite the bullet, do the project, regardless of whether it was the most financially prudent at the moment. Hell, Dima, at least have the decency to call, not ask Felix to do your bidding. read more

I used Bay Area Cabinetry for my kitchen and I'm very happy with their product and support. My prior kitchen remodels were off the shelf and simple so Boris and Felix helped me through the process of ordering custom cabinets. These cabinets were pricey and took a couple months to receive, but in my opinion worth the price (I should mention I took a few months to meet with different vendors). If you're shopping for custom cabinets I'd highly recommend these guys. The only thing I regret was not using Bay Area Cabinets for the install. These are custom pieces and I wouldn't recommend using a standard contractor. My contractor made some small mistakes affecting the design, but I imagine that using Felix/Boris the end product would have been even better. read more

My wife and I very highly recommend Bay Area Cabinetry and Felix, Boris and their team. I am a very fussy client - an engineer, handy person who has a very detailed eye. These guys surpassed all my expectations. Indeed Boris is even fussier than me when it comes to details. Bay area cabinetry did our Kitchen. They were highly recommended by a friend. We had looked at various cabinetmakers and we zeroed in on these guys because they had a fantastic selection of materials/colors especially if you want a modern Italian/European style kitchen. They also do a traditional style. We found their price to be competitive. During the design phase Felix was very patient with us - it took me long time settle on the colors. When Felix started to draw the final design plan it became evident that he was looking after the details on how the drawers and doors lined up across entire kitchen for good esthetics. There are two details I remember: (1) How to best squeeze in an additional pull out for oils and spices while still keeping room for our under the sink space for garbage. Felix came up with a good solution. (2) My wife wanted an appliance garage at the corner, which wasn't the best way of utilizing that space, but Felix ended up offering my wife what she wanted. Later during installation we realized that some of Felix's reservations for doing the appliance garage were right on - Luckily Boris dealt with the details make it work. Boris and this team were superb for the installation. Boris has an incredible eye for details. I remember three things. (1) for one part there were two options and Boris asked me if I had a preference. I said lets go for the easier to install option (I am a handy man). Boris said, "if you don't care either way then I will go with the other option that was harder because the outcome will have better esthetics. (2) The Miele installer had installed the refrigerator with poor alignment, When I told pointed this to the Miele team that the gap was wider on top vs bottom he gave me the BS that the Cabinets are off my 1/64th . Luckily Boris happen to come by at that time and call them on their BS saying that they were off by much more and that his company has done refrigerator installs and he knew was he was talking about. The Miele guys backed off and finally did the right thing. Boris helped us on two other area related to Miele issues. In one area he went out his way to add a special metal plate to deal with a narrow countertop ledge due to the size of the Miele cooktop. At every stage Boris wanted o make sure everything was just right. He did not take shortcuts. The end result was fantastic. Our friends are wowed by our kitchen. Indeed the City inspector who came for the final inspection said "wow" as he entered our kitchen Summary: Good quality cabinets with good choice in material and colors. Competitive price. It was great working with Felix on the design and choosing the actual finishes. Now they have a professional design person who helps on color and design. Fantastic installation - Bros will look after all the details - he is fanatic about doing things right. Of all the projects I have done in my house over the last 30 years, Boris is the only guy who has exceeded my very high expectations. We had our house remodeling planned what feels like for years, and we knew exactly what we wanted by the time it came down to selecting vendors to build. After looking at a number of choices we went with American Legend Fine Cabinetry for our kitchen. Main reason was that these guys actually knew what we are talking about when we asked for specific grain and color bamboo (many places didn't and tried to talk us into something that was easily available for them.) Guys at American Legend Fine Cabinetry said that they can do what we were asking for, the price was reasonable and they had samples that we liked.... Don't get me wrong, remodel is never easy, and things often go not perfectly according to plans, but we are happy we went with the American Legend, because their attitude and ability to adjust and work with us was great. When we changed our mind about some of the internal parts of the cabinets, they worked with us. When we changed our mind about wanting some glass doors instead of all wood (which they advise us about), they worked with us... and 2 years later, when we wanted an adjustment on some of the internal parts of the kitchen based on how we are using it - no questions asked. We called them, they came and helped us. I only wish other vendors would have such standards where it comes to customer service. ik read more

Great service by Bay Area Cabinetry. They built our kitchen over 5 years ago, no problem all these years. One of the cabinet doors started making popping sound when closing, Bay Area Cabinetry was quick to respond and dispatched a resource to fix it promptly who fixed it quickly and free of charge! Follow up 2 years later. One highly used drawer (garbage) hardware broke and was making a screeching sound, Bay Area Cabinetry (Boris) replaced the hardware insert and added additional small drawer on top to keep garbage bags. I can concur with other reviews. BAC built our kitchen and bathroom vanities. We've been using them for 3 months now and everything works great. We have not even had to make any adjustment which would be normal. BAC workmanship stands out as huge contrast to the work of many other contractors and subs we had on our large project. Dmitri and team delivered very high quality work. We are very impressed with how well everything works and fits together. Our project was not straight forward. We have a curved wall and BAC went out of their way to accommodate our design. They take a lot pride in their work and that shows in their attitude and quality. I also wanted to point out that they were always on time and managed to deliver while working around less then stellar contractor. When my friend, who was former Bay Area Cabinetry customer recommended them we decided to check them out. They make fully custom cabinets in the shop and also offer semi-custom cabinets from Italy with finishes not available locally for almost half the price we were quoted at other places. Last summer ie 2013 I decided to use Bay Area Cabinetry after investigating several shops. It was a hard decision for me because I use to own my own small cabinet shop so I was picky. Felix made the decision easy. He showed me around introduced me to the guys Boris, Dimitiry, and the rest explained their construction, their approach to the whole process. Help with design. And did the install. What can I say,,, they exceeded all of my expectations. High quality, on time, professional to a fault, heck the guys that installed the cabinets where highly skilled cabinet makers themselves vs the labors other companies would use. And Dimitiry the finish guy is an absolute perfectionist. Price was at least fair if not better AND no last minute extra charges including modifications made after the fact such as when we decided the pantry needed an extra drawer or a panel needed to be fit different no change in price. I used American Legend Fine Cabinetry to remodel both my walk in closet and my daughter's closet. They did an amazing job in every way and totally exceeded my expectations. Felix and his team were very responsive, extremely friendly and courteous and very helpful suggesting best use of my closet space to come up with the ideal closet design and layout. They also were very competitive in price, as I got 3 separate bids done, and their price was by far the best.
