Couldn't be happier with our decision to reach out to BACS. Furnace died in the middle of the night - I was able to get on Yelp, explain what happened and upload some photos. Really convenient - Mike called me first thing in the morning (well before 8AM - which matters when you have a newborn and you're awake shivering). He even brought back a space heater later that day to keep the baby's room warm overnight - ABOVE AND BEYOND SERVICE. My furnace went out early March when the weather was extremely cold, just my luck! I searched for furnace companies on Yelp and picked Bay Area Comfort Solution because they a several good reviews. It would be a few days before they came out and I started research on how to pick the right size furnace and what features are offered. I also research and reviews of the different brands of furnaces as well. There is a site which you can put in detail information about , the size of your house, how many windows you have, the construction of the house and your location and the site will give you an estimate on the size of furnace you will need and how much it will cost. With this information, I was ready to talk to the furnace company when he arrived. A few days later the owner , Michael, arrived and looked over my furnace and asked a couple of questions and was ready to quote me a price. I was disappointed, because he never looked over my house to access my type of construction, square footage, or the amount of light the windows allowed. He based the size on what is currently installed which is a method for replacement but not a good one if the current one was not adequate for your needs which mind wasn't. Everything I read a good installer will do a home inspection to access your needs. I was lucky to do my research ahead of time and discuss going one size up on my old furnace to give me more heat. We also agreed on the brand of furnace as well. Many people don't know that there are only a few furnace manufactures and they all make 3 or 4 furnaces under different names and use many of the same parts in all of them. Michael proceeded to give me an estimated on the total cost of the job and it was well within the estimated I received from the other site I did my research. I hired him and had my furnace installed the following week. He did a great job on the installation and clean up after. He knows what he is doing and I will use him for any follow up visit I just wish he had did a better job at accessing the need of the house. read more

Mike was hired to clean dryer ventilation and change HVAC filter, the job was done OK. Air condition had an issue of not cooling and he gave a proposal with very costly repair. I requested a proposal to replace air-conditioning system, but did not get any feedback. I called the another company to come and had the air-conditioning repair done at much lower cost. My wife and I are in the middle of a massive remodel on a new home purchase in Lafayette, CA. We shopped around a few HVAC companies and then came across Mike at Bay Area Comfort Solution HVAC. He was a referral from a good friend who is a contractor who worked with Mike in the past. Mike, the owner, was on it, I cannot say enough about my experience with him. We were looking for an entirely new furnace, new ducting throughout the house and a new A/C unit since the house did not have A/C at all. He met me at the house early in the morning and suggested we put the new furnace in the attic since we had the space. Mike's pricing was very competitive with the other bids we received and what set him apart was how easy he was to talk to and I did not feel like he was trying to pull one over on me. He is very knowledgeable and gave me three price options based on budget which I appreciated. He did the work in a week, while the house was torn apart from the remodel. He ran the new ducting to our new bathrooms in the attic and offered to finish the bathrooms once our contractor finished the remodel. There was asbestos in the old ducting under the house and not only did he find me a company to remove it, he gave me a discount from his original bid because he was not be able to remove the asbestos himself. While I am set for quite a long time after using Mike, I highly recommend using him for your next future project. Being new to California it's hard to know who to call or trust when you need a service done. We sent a couple of requests on Yelp this morning for AC repair. My fan wouldn't shut off and BACS was able to come to my house to diagnose the problem the same day and offer a quote. The transformer and board needed to be replaced which was done the next day. I didn't know this at the time but, they are 24/7 M-F and also have weekend hours as I discovered the problem on the weekend but waited until Monday to call. Fast efficient service and answers questions so home owners can understand what they can troubleshoot on their own and when to call an expert. BACS provides sensible advice that serves the consumer. Home Furnace wasn't working. It was 58*F in my home, day after Super Bowl Sunday. I was very disappointed in Mike. I had used him on a rental property was very satisfied. I called for three weeks straight trying to get a call back. Finally Mike called apologizing for the non returning of my calls. He set and appointment for that Friday. No showed no call. I received a call several hours later stating he was sick with the flu. Rescheduling for the next week. Mike no showed no call again I was told he missed scheduled and they could set up another appointment. I refused a new appointment. We called Mike to take a look at our furnace and talking to him about the problems we decided to replace it. Mike answered all our questions and did a great job replacing the furnace and re-doing all our ducts. The crawl space was a mess before but not anymore thanks to Mike.
